Hi Nikki!

I can't believe how close your trip is...you must be psyched!!

What page is the dining list on? I can't seem to find it - I thought I bookmarked it but I guess I didn't. TIA!

28 days to go for us! Woo hooo!

Okay, new question everyone, to help pass the time. Are there any souvenirs that you are absolutely going to buy? I need some more t-shirts and sweats, stuff from the Basin at DTD, pajamas, stuff from France in Epcot for my students and hopefully some soccer stuff (at Epcot - especially England) for the World Cup! Those are the must haves - anybody else have anything that they absolutely must get on their upcoming trip??

I need a new coffee mug. I know it's pathetic, but I have been using my same favorite Buzz Lightyear cup from when the first movie came out. It's getting old. I need a new one, although the creature of habit that I am, I probably will just keeping using my old Buzz one. I also want a t-shirt. I don't know of what, but I get one every time, and I new scrapbook. I have to have a scrapbook for each trip for Disney.

Single digit dance starts at 12:00 AM!!! :woohoo:
Can't believe its almost here!

Checked in today for our first resort of our split stay. SSR. I requested near transportation due to DD using a transport chair. Last time we went I was using for my broke foot and SSR was great about obliging our online checkin requests.

So we're all set now. Next week I'll check in for our second leg - Bay Lake Towers.

Ok... I have been doing some thinking...well I think about Disney nonstop lately, but I am thinking about it from a new perspective.

My mom is going to Disney with us this year... It has been an extremely hard year for her so far. My step father died at the end of December of this past year. He would have been 58 this year. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor about two year prior. It was a devastating blow to my family..but especially my mom. They were together in high school...lost touch..then found each other again and together every since. In any case, we are all dealing in our own way, but she has not been on vacation in years. They were big home bodies and didn't travel very much. We are taking my two LO which I know for my mom is enough in itself. She adores them and loves spending time with them, but I want to make the trip special for her too. Any suggestions on what I could do to make this trip really special, memorable, but not hard on her at the same time? I know she misses him dearly, we all do, but I just want her to remember this vacation and make it more of a celebration and not a sad time.

If any thoughts or special ideas come to anyone's minds, please post.

28 days for us also, can't hardly wait. The cd's that are being talked about on this thread does anyone know where they can be purchased in the parks. Thanks in advance for your help.

The must buy item for me is Mickey holding the banner with the year on it, buy one every trip and would hate to quit now.

Sorry to hear your family is going through such a hard time. It'll get better :hug::hug::hug:

We always start with afternoon tea at the GF the day we arrive (or day after in this case since we're arriving very late the night before). My family is British so maybe it's just the british thing but we love the tea.

I'd do something special in each park then everything else is bonus.

breakfast or dinner in the Castle would top my list as MK's special thing. i mean where else can you eat in a castle :)

in epcot you could maybe buy her a special little gift in one of the countries - maybe one where your stepdad was from - or maybe one they would have liked to have gone.

maybe a firework cruise for wishes or watching it from the beach at Poly. the music is very soft but you get to watch the water parade that begins shortly after wishes :) a bonus show

pretty much just being with her family is going to be such a wonderful memory as it is. I wouldn't kill yourself trying to make everything perfect.

So sorry. My dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and I can't envision my mom without him. I understand your new perspective.

I thought of the tea at GF too. I don't know ages or sexes of your little ones. I think if you plan on something special for them, she would enjoy that experience too.

:idea:What about pick a pearl? The LO could select the pearl with her and you could have it set.

Ok - what is a packing cube?? We leave Saturday morning, and I still have nothing IN the suitcases......that is today's goal.

The thing I worry about the Vera bags in the summer is the rain - back in the 80s we got caught in a sudden downpour/storm at the MK, I had a fake leather purse at the time - it was soaked and everything in it was drenched, including my paper driver license that had been inside a wallet! I am going to stick with my bagallini because it is nylon. I am probably overly paranoid though.

My kids are busy this week too. DS is at a computer camp and DD is an aide for the girl scout day camp.

I read about them in another thread..Go to amazon or ebags and search packing cube..

We leave on the 11th, but thanks!

http://www.bagsbuy.com/baggallini-me.../121602/285132 is the Bagallini Messenger bag. I love all the compartments--one for water bottle ont he outside, one for sunglasses on the outside, a compartment in the strap that's perfect for tickets and FP's, plus there's several compartments inside, which I love. I like that it is cross-body--I'm a big girl and it's comfy. I also like that I can just swing the bag around front for those quickk-loading rides, getting stuff out while on the move, etc. Never even have to take it off!

 to you and your family.

I don't have any specific ideas but maybe setup something normally a child would do that is silly and fun.

Something with Tinkerbell on it.

I don't think this trip we will get a lot of souvenirs since it is a last minute deal and haven't had time to save up for it.

Is it worth it for me to do online check-in if I have a rental stroller to pick up at the desk anyway?

Good news: Checked in this morning!!

Icky news: Heading to dentist this afternoon for cleaning, but I have a feeling there is something brewing. :confused3 Hopefully it's nothing major or too expensive. :lmao:
