Freaking out...ONE WEEK FROM TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have stuff thrown on my sons bed but not IN the actual suitcase or packing cubes! i am starting to wonder if it would have been easier to go to the beach or something!

HELP make me sane and get organized!!!

Ok - what is a packing cube?? We leave Saturday morning, and I still have nothing IN the suitcases......that is today's goal.

This thread moves way to fast for me I got a hipster in Raspberry Fizz when someone posted about the St. Patrick's day sale. I carried it all around Disney in April and it was awesome, very light. I am little more concerned about July though because it is so hot. I used to carry a passport holder with a long cord attached, I'll take both this summer and see which works better.

My kids finally got out of school, and we have a busy summer ahead! Before we go to Disney we are going away for July 4th, then I decided to take my DD to NYC for her birthday in lieu of a party (all of her friends are away anyway!) then less than a week before we go to Disney! Busy and fun summer ahead of us!!

The thing I worry about the Vera bags in the summer is the rain - back in the 80s we got caught in a sudden downpour/storm at the MK, I had a fake leather purse at the time - it was soaked and everything in it was drenched, including my paper driver license that had been inside a wallet! I am going to stick with my bagallini because it is nylon. I am probably overly paranoid though.

My kids are busy this week too. DS is at a computer camp and DD is an aide for the girl scout day camp.

It has been super hot in MD lateley and this week we are Code Red and Orange being in the 90s plus! I just keep thinking- this is great practice for Disney to get me used to the temps!!

In PA, tomorrow and Thursday are supposed to be awful. I am thinking the same way- practice for Disney. (I was hoping for it to be the week before we go though!)

I know what you mean.... driving does help save money - especially for a family of 4 or more. I would rather drive and stay in a value than not go at all.

that's why we drive.

it would cost us close to $2000 to fly out of Toronto, cab to and from the airport

if we drove to Buffalo we could get a cheaper flight but then we'd either have to stay the night before and get a hotel with parking or pay for parking at the airport so no real savings there.

we can drive the 2100km stay in 4 hotels (2 down 2 back) pay for gas and food and come out around 700 bucks.

and while it costs us 4 days in drive time it's a great experience for us as a family.

DD loves driving. we have a dvd player, we listen to music of all kinds, play travel games and she's a great sleeper while we travel.

we had a motor home when i was growing up and we travelled all over North America. i love it and love saving money even more

I had bought a Vera hipster last year for Disney and decided to try it out when we went to DC for the day. We got caught on the Mall in a huge deluge of rain (DS favorite expression) and the purse and all of the contents were soaked! I even bought the matching wallet so all my money and paper stuff in wallet were soaked!! I just bought a Dooney&Burke hipster type purse off Zappos - $45! Going to try that out... We'll see...

I live in MD too...and I agree it is hot! I have been "practicing" for Florida since Sat. I am considering wearing capris and light shirts while we are there so I have been "trying out" different outfits and trying hard not to use AC in my car to see if I can survive! My husband thinks I am insane... Yesterday morning I pulled weeds in capris and a t-shirt, hmmm, maybe I am insane!

I know what you mean, we have done the math multiple times, and with the price of airfare for four, you cannot beat driving. I do like the flexibility in packing. The trip down is always fun and exciting, but the trip home, not so much.

We received all our documenation from Disney yesterday and it did include the luggage tags.

We have one more ADR to add: Planet hollywood on 7/25 at 1:15pm.

I can't remember who asked about bags that we take to the park. I use one by Travelon it kinda looks like a mini back pack. I love it, it has several compartments. I bought it from QVC. They don't seem to carry that style any more.

Does your bagallini have the magnetic closure? Mine keeps deactivating our park passes......

It runs nightly from the 9th through the 24th.

I also like that I can just swing the bag around front for those quickk-loading rides, getting stuff out while on the move, etc. Never even have to take it off!

We live in MD too and it is really hot. Everytime we go outside my son complains how hot it is and I just remind him that it's going to be hot like this in Disney. I want to prepare him too.

If you have a specific building you want to stay in I would ask first and then do online check in!
My TA had already requested the building we wanted at POP prior.
He said that they assign rooms 3 - 4 days before you arrive actually..so you would need to request a certain location before hand!
