11 Days til we're in Disney!!!

I am a little nervous cuz' I got rocked with the stomach flu on Monday and haven't felt great all week but I'm starting to feel normal again so now just praying the rest of the family dodges it! Please-oh Please! I have been planning this trip for a year! Don't let it get sidelined just when the goal is within sight! No! No negative thoughts! We're going to Disney World!!!

I'm so sorry you were sick earlier this week...that is the worst. Sending some pixie dust your way, wishing your family does not get it!

That's what I thought. That's what they did in '07, but I got a card that said to activate it before I went. I haven't yet, though, because it doesn't look as sturdy as I remember the last one being. Thought I'd just wait til I got there and see if maybe they are in fact different now.

Is anyone having trouble pulling up their reservations on disney.com today? I tried to check something opening up my confirmation email from them, and none of the information was there??

My 2 oldest DD's had their moving up ceremonies today and my middle daughter kept telling anyone who would listen that we are going to Disney this Summer! She's a child after her Momma's own heart!

My DD said, "I feel sorry for people who haven't been to Walt Disney World."

Just called Disney to add the ME transfers to my ressies. She says "So, you'll be staying at CR, blah, blah, blah."..................NOOOOOOOOOO. I called last week to change from CR to YC!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank goodness there was still a Standard YC room left. It looks like the CM didn't go all the way through with the transaction, so it never changed us!!!

All is well now, but I think I will call back later and make SURE that it's changed!!!

But was it a 'package' or did you book those things separately? Because you don't get the luggage tags and packet unless you book a package. You will only get the ME tags.

Jumping on this thread a little late but with good reason.

I just booked this morning my first solo trip. Staying at Pop 7/3-7/4. A little nervous about the crowds but being that it is just me I'm hopeful it won't be too torturous.

I'm so excited I am already half packed. I do feel a bit guilty leaving my DD2 behind, but she is due for some bonding with daddy.

In 2 weeks I will be finishing up my packing and trying to get some sleep before heading out on the 90min drive to the airport at 3am.

Sounds great! This is probably the best time to go on a solo trip. You can easily weave in and out of the crowds without worrying about losing someone!

Oh my goodness, thank god you called!!! That would have been a real disaster if you got to YC and they were like, "I'm sorry, we don't have a reservation for you!" Glad you were still able to get the room you wanted! I would DEFINITELY call back and make sure!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who post's just to look at my ticker! 25 days left and counting! I discovered today the shoes I picked out to wear to O'hana for my Anniversary dinner will NOT be getting packed. They hurt my feet far to much. Instead I'm going to hit up Old Navy for some flip flops and Michaels for some fake flowers and hot glue em on there. I am also thinking about sticking a Mickey button or two in the flowers for my own hidden Mickeys!

Well I was outside today for a big press conference at the school I work at. And kept thinking.. I'm in Florida in exactly 1 month. I guess my mind really was in Florida. I got sunburned on my forehead lol

Going to party with the colleagues tonight to celebrate the end of the school year. Which gets me excite since it means....WDW time is gonna be here soon!

I want to get on the July Anniversary list--ours is July 20. 19 years this year, but we won't be able to stay for our anniversary. This year. I think it's enough we'll be there for my and Dh's bdays. I knew we should've gotten married on July6th. We even talked about it many years ago.

My shirts are done! I was worried when I didn't have them and Nikki had hers. I knew I'd ordered first, since I gave Nikki her name. lol But she had to order a shirt and didn't get it until the other day. I'm happy to say that I LOVE them!

We had to change the date of our trip. Originally, I booked from July 10-19. Then we added two days to the beginning of our trip!

Now DH can't get those two days off work so we are back to our original date.

But we were able to add two days to the end of our trip!

Now we are booked for eleven nights...July 10-21! Woo hoo!

I fixed it on the list on page 166!

Today was my last day of work - final packing of office and school picnic...won't feel real until Sunday night when I don't get the blues!!!
We will be in Florida in less than 2 weeks - Ft. Lauderdale first then Disney! I can not believe how close our trip is. DS (8) has AAU camp all next week to prepare the team for Nationals. So I have all week to get us ready for vacation.
One question for all you experienced July vacationers...Can I wear capris instead of shorts??? I have lost 60lbs but I am finding it extremely difficult to find shorts that I like! My legs look horrible -have to really work on toning this summer! I bought two pairs of shorts today but that is all I have! Don't want to stress over this...I have many capris and have been buying sleeveless light shirts. What do you think?
Add me to the list of July Anniversaries...DH and I will celebrate our 19th anniversary on July 27th! Next year is the big 2-0! We are planning a trip to Hawaii to celebrate!

We tried the larger Walmart brand a few summers ago. They were still a pain to carry around, and we did not think they worked as well as the Disney ones because the foam blades were just not strong enough. The ones we bought at Disney many years ago had stronger blades. Last year, the kids just each had a small hand held fan and it was ok - but not really helpful.

Do those smaller ones hold water??

we bought a DCL one and a WDW one and didn't think either of them worked all that great.

the problem is that the water squirts out behind the fan and hits the blades and most of the water flies off instead of misting the face.

the design is bad - it should have been designed to squirt through the centre of the blades so the mist would be in front of the breeze not behind.

we're just buying a small (but not that small) squirt bottle from here and will do without the fan.

Yeah--they include one in your packet now. I've also heard that some are finding them in the resort rooms with all the other information there. Guess they're trying to drum up business for the Photopass.

I can never pull up my reservation on there. I check periodically, then I panic and call. Yes, I'm paranoid! I did finally get the new ADR system to work--it's missing a few of my ADRS, but I called and they're still there. I think the WDW IT folks are just not with it.

My DD said, "I feel sorry for people who haven't been to Walt Disney World."

I have the red/blue fan there and will pack it. Never bought the fans at WDW, but I did have the small ones. Mine I got at the dollar store or Hobby Lobby a couple years ago and the nice thing is they clip on your bag or beltloop with the carribiner. The problem is that the fan blades tore easily and the fans aren't very powerful. I didn't buy any more little ones.

Soooo, 2 weeks from right now, I"ll be boarding my second flight in Chicago, on our way to Orlando!

I've been having this problem for the past few days. I would log on it would say so many days until our trip but when I went to go pull up the actual reservation it would say that it couldnt be found. I called the reservation hotline just to make sure I was still in the system. They told me it was still in there and was fine.

I also cant print out my own maps from the site currently. Every time I go to modify the map and add the resturants were eatting at it says that there is an error on the page and to go to www.waltdisneyworld.com.

good idea from a business stand point - i just wish they weren't so expensive.

we did the photo share last year but can't advertise it this year so we'll have to pay the entire amount ourselves.

i hate paying if we don't get a lot of pics done but then don't want to lose them either

Being that I'm arriving on 7/3 (flight lands at 9am), I'm probably going to head over to MK. Since it is open til 2am (as per Disney site), would I be okay with either:

a) hitting the pool at POP until my room is ready, take a nap and then head over to MK for the rest of the night.

OR

b) heading to MK for awhile, returning when room is ready for pool and nap time, and then head back to MK.

In regards to the 4th:
I am heading towards Epcot. My flight doesn't leave until 8:45pm so I'm guessing ME p/u is around 5:45pm. Would I be able to head back from Epcot for a swim and some food at POP in the afternoon until it's time to leave? Is there anywhere to change??

Sorry for all the questions. If anyone has any suggestions I'm open. It's just me and I only have 2 days but the thought of being in the parks for hours on end in the heat is a bit overwhelming.

am i reading that right - you're only there for 1 night/2 days?

if that's the case - get the most out of your trip and head to MK when you arrive since it won't be long open by the time you'd get there then sometime in the afternoon when it's hot and you're tired head back to your resort for a few hours nap/rest then back to mk for EMH

there are changerooms somewhere around the pool - and you can leave your luggage with the front desk until it's time to go.

just keep your carry on with you and put it in a locker at Epcot. or ask if the front desk would keep it for you.

have a great albeit short trip
