Ok, let's talk wardrobe...

I'm trying to figure out what to pack and what will be coolest. For religious reasons, I don't wear sleeveless tops/tank tops or shorter shorts or skirts (Bermuda shorts are fine, skirts/dresses that hit an inch or two above the knee are fine). In the summer here in Georgia, I find myself most comfortable in lightweight skirts (the breezy, loose kind) and t-shirts, or lightweight shorts and a t-shirt. I have a few CoolMax shirts.

I'm trying to figure out what to pack...I have a few pairs of lightweight khaki shorts and bought a really cute, lightweight knit sundress (knee length) to wear over a fitted t-shirt. I've seen lots of people in the parks in dresses/skirts so I don't think it will be that crazy, right? I keep thinking about how much cooler it might be than shorts...

Would I be crazy to wear a casual sundress or skirt in the parks? I tend to be more comfy in skirts anyway, and I'm careful about how/where I sit in skirts, how I get up and down, etc...

What do you think?

If you would worry about the skirts with getting in and out of rides, you can try a skort or maybe putting a pair of shorts under them.
I found some very nice skorts online that I will be taking with me.

We have some casual dresses for dinner. I am going with coolmax shirts too. I am fair skinned so I like to cover as much as possible to minimize possible burns.

anybody landing at 10:28AM on the 4th ??? see you at the ME Bus... I will have my lime green mickey heads... and my backpack will have them too dont hesitate to yell and say hello!!!

then jumping to BWV for Sun and Monday!!! :goodvibes

DD21 just picked up some skorts ($12) and tank tops ($4) at Wal-Mart today! Can't beat that price! and they're cute and cool. :woohoo:

I have to say this is the longest "official month" thread I've ever been involved in/seen.

Have a safe trip everyone leaving this weekend! See you all in a few days LOL

No you were right, I do hate shopping....UNLESS I am shopping for a Disney trip! ;)

I know exactly what you mean! Oh, and do you find yourself getting super excited when in the travel-toiletry section like me? :lmao: Yes, it's silly, but I just can't help myself!!! :rotfl:

Okay so...even though my trip is two weeks away i packed...

And i am not sure if because of al the surprises or what- but I have my luggage packed and a carry on packed! I never had a carry on!!! I do have alot of secret surprised for my fiance for the honehymoon but still...am I overpacking?

I did not know there was such a thing as overpacking. :lmao:

LA LA LA LA LA LA LA:scared:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I can't quite grasp planning which rides to go on when! When we get there, we'll take the kids on the kid rides first (carousel, dumbo, magic carpets), older kids will go wherever, as long as they show up for dinner.

I wouldn't even think of missing EMH, especially late magic hours. We've gotten on Soarn' with little wait, I refuse to wait more than 60 minutes for any ride, and a triple play on Kali River Rapids. my nephew went on Splash Mountain like 4 times in a row during a late magic hour. We've also got some great character time during EMH. My DD who was 5 at the time got to ride the carousel with Pluto during late magic. We visited 5 characters in a row at AK's late magic hours once. Its worth it. Just nap during the day and you'll have the energy for it. And don't forget to bring your camera even though its dark. I made that mistake once. Luckily, my cell phone could take pics.

9 more days... single digit dance!! :dance3::dance3::dance3:

Splash Mountain is open at night? That would be so much fun!! However, I don't think that I will be able to drag my daughter on it again. She loved the ride until the 50 foot drop. :scared1: She even wrote about it at school this past year for their publishing project. So now she has immortalized her experience on SM's 50 ft. drop through her writings and drawing a picture that states "I'm going to die!" :lmao: Nope, I don't think that I could even bribe her. :scared:

Leaving in 24 hours!

Have an awesome trip!

I can't wait. Hope everyone has a good time.

Have fun!

Have a great time everyone!

Have you left yet????

Morning all! One week from today, I will have been in the car for 7+ hours, I hope! DH finally talked details with me last night about things that had been nagging on me, he is starting to get in the spirit. He's jumping ahead of himself a little. He said "Next week at this time, we'll be waiting for Fantasmic and exhausted" Umm... no, next week at this time will be packing the car.. :lmao:

Just remembered another surprise. We joined the Disney Movie Rewards program a while back. Doesn't cost anything, and you put in those codes that come in Disney DVDs and earn points for stuff. Mostly little things. We went through all the DVDs we could find, and put the codes in. We earned enough for something called an "Enchanted Call." You pick a Disney character, something you want them to say, and the day and time, and they call you kids. The rewards gave us a four call package, so Mickey will be calling us next Friday to say he heard we're going on a trip, See you real soon! The girls will also get calls on their birthdays, and Christmas morning! You have to tell them all four when you go through the rewards program, so those were dates I knew! If you are not in the rewards program, I think the calls are like $3 each?

I decided to do a movie a night this week to get us in the spirit, and I realized our 2 year old hasn't seen Lion King, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, or Toy Story. We've got to get those in b/c she'll see a bunch of stuff from each. Also want to pull out Nemo again, we've watched Cinderella, Peter Pan, Snow White, and Mary Poppins (a bunch!) in the last couple of weeks...

Have a great day, all!

Hey, see you Sunday!

Oh yes! The other day I found travel sized foot powder...it was like I won the lottery!!

yup it's open at night and for EMH... word of warning tho.. you will still get just as wet, and there's no daytime sunshine to dry you out!! DBF and i got soaked on it last October... ironically, we'd wrapped my handbag & pal mickey in our ponchos, to keep them dry.. :lmao: it is soooo fun at night, great view of Cinderella's Castle & Space Mountain at Night!! :wizard:

Emma!! is the little one able to come with you guys? I tired to email you but for some reason I Can not get under the zapak account! Hope all is well and I will see you super soon!

no update as yet on DN... i wish i knew for sure!! im assuming now she can't come :( , so then, if she can.. it'll be like an extra big dose of pixie dust for the trip!
I really want to print out the ADRs and rough-guide plan for the vacation, but i don't know whether it's going to be 'plan a' or 'plan b' (b= no BBB or Akershus dinner :( ) lol!
Also if she's not coming i need to ring Disney Florist asap to cancel the 'royal welcome' gift basket i've ordered her!! ... and i'll have to keep the Cindy dress for her bday later in the year :sad2:

despite that, i'm still unbelievably excited for the vacation.... this is my last weekend before wdw now!!!!!!

I'm sooo jealous of all of you leaving before me. I hope you have safe and magical trips!
We have one more softball game, one set of dance nationals and 2 WEEKS until we leave for Disney.
I've already started the waking up in the middle of the night thinking "oh, we need to pack that". I'll be glad when I'm sane enough to sleep. (the last time we went we got 45 min. away from and I realized I'd left my purse in the garage. Yea, all the money and traveling documents were in it. Lovely BIL had to meet us.)

Hi, How are you, When are you going in July? Which resort?:yay:

We still havnt gotten our disney mail :(
I guess we paid too late...

I am stressing right along with you if it makes it any better. And I still have longer to go than you do! I decided yesterday that it would somehow be a good idea to start the search for the "perfect" park bag all over again. :scared: Keep in mind that I have already done this and purchased "the bag" months ago. But noooo, I wake up yesterday and the first thought that pops into my mind is that bag and all the reasons it won't work and I shouldn't have bought it. So here I am 16 days out and looking for a bag to carry into the parks. DH is really losing his patience at this point. Of course that didn't stop me from shopping today. :rotfl:

It makes me so sad to think about DN. I could really cry about it right now and I don't even know her. I'm praying for her to get to go.

awww thank you ... i wanted to cry a few weeks ago when we first found out that her mom didn't want her to come on vacation with us., now it's kinda turned to anger against her mom for being so inconsiderate and mean (who i've never met btw!)

i've got surprises planned for everyone in the family during the vacation, but for DN particularly... i had made a card from the Fairy Godmother inviting her to the BBB & then dinner at CRT.. and i was going to put it in a gift box with the little cinderella costume.. it's the most beautiful dress too! it's the blue ballgown, but reverses inside-out so that it's the 'peasant' dress too princess:
if it is just the seven of us going without her, then i really hope everyone gets lost in the Magic, and they don't keep saying "if only DN were here" :confused3

i'm also hoping DBF's mom's ankle is better by next thurs too.. she sprained it on monday at the gym :scared1: .... might need a stroller ;) !

love, trust & pixie dust!
OMG my ticker now says "only" before the # of days!!!!!!!
