We leave in less than 2 days and I have thrown my hip out.

I have been having problems with bursitis in my left hip for a few years. For the past 6 months or so it has been feeling great and not bothering me at all.

It has been acting up a little for the past few days. I think from the swimming and water aerobics I have been doing to get in shape for the trip. Walking down some stairs today, I took a step and my left leg almost collapsed and I had a shooting pain. Now it feels like it will collapse after about every 4 or 5 steps.

The worst thing is, my chiropractor is on vacation, and the lady that answers the phone informed me that "No, he does not have anyone on call covering for him, you will have to come in on Monday." Monday?? I will be at WDW on Monday! I checked with my regular doctor and he wants me to come in the morning and take some x-rays.

Hopefully he will be able to do something for me, besides tell me to "rest and take it easy for the next 10 days."

Anybody know how much it costs to rent one of those electric wheelchairs?? :rolleyes1

Good thing we do not have too much stuff planned, and my sister has no problem if we don't even make it into the parks every day!

Oh no! That's bad timing! I hope it feels better very soon!!!

I hope this is an issue which can be easily resolved. Tells me I did the right thing by not finding time to exercise!! Let us know what the Doctor says. You can look on the bright side, you may need to rent a chair but you may also get front of line privledges. Maybe I should have exercised!! LOL

LOL, Lois! I have a post-it pad with a cartoon drawing on it that says "If I were in charge, exercise would be bad for you!" That's my motto and I'm sticking to it! :rotfl:

Well it's July 1! That means I leave today....I am SO super excited. This will be our first trip back in over 2 years....Time for bed and to finish up packing in the AM.

Happy Disney Trip everyone!!!!

Have a wonderful trip! I'm jealous...still 15 days to go for me...although I still have a ton of stuff to get done, so I guess it's good that I still have time.

Here I am, 6 days from leaving and I haven't put a thing in a suitcase :scared1: That is my mission today, begin packing. Usually, my bags are out for 2 weeks in the midst of being loaded. Have I forgotten how to prepare for WDW?? :lmao: I mean it has been 18 months since I have been :rotfl:

I'm getting frustrated -- I can't find the Cool Blast misters that I want for the trip -- can't find them anywhere! They're the perfect size to take (although pricey) and they don't use batteries, but no one in town is carrying them. I'm worried that if I order them online they won't get here in time, but I guess I don't have a choice.

They have towels at the water parks - I think you might need to "pay" for them though - like $1.00 per towel.......

Does anyone know if online check in allows you to request connecting rooms? I am not sure if I should use it for CBR or not since we really need connecting roms. .....

Yes...when I was able to get it to work, it had a section for special request, which included a box to check for connecting rooms as well as one for ground floor and one for "near transportation". You could also indicate if you needed a pack and play.

I was able to do online check-in for one of our reservation numbers, but can't get it to work for the other one. Says the system is down. *sigh*

Yikes -- I just looked at that on Amazon and it says "usually ships in 1 to 2 months" -- I don't think I can wait that long! But the have the Cool Blast mister that I was looking for, at the lowest price I have seen online, and in stock. I just ordered them. I can't believe I didn't think to check Amazon. Thanks!

WHAT!! They actually stop people from coming into the parks??!! I have NEVER heard of that!! :scared1:

We're arriving on Sunday the 12th and I was planning on heading into the MK just as soon as my MIL arrives sometime around 1:00pm. It would be crushing to my DD7 (her birthday is today) and niece10 if they can't go in that day.

Do they reopen later if crowds lessen? I would imagine that some times of the day might be more crowded than others. MK has Late Magic Hours that night, so maybe if we can't get in mid-day, we can get it later.

I've been during spring break and never saw anyone turned away. I've also never seen anyone turned away at EPCOT even during Flower & Garden or Food & Wine.

Just 10 more days!! oh... still gotta make my Lime Green Mickey head banner. Gonna buy some lime green broadcloth today.:woohoo:

When I did mine, it would only allow me to request a playard crib (don't need one) and a refrigerator, which I thought was odd as we'll be at POFQ which has a fridge in the room.

:laundy:Will is going to WDW w/ his cousin Taylorprincess::laundy:

DS had to make a post

Hi Will - I hope you have a great time at WDW with your cousin Taylor! We'll be there the same time as you and plan to stop by AKL to check out the counter service restaurant! Maybe we'll see you! :yay:

I had never heard of this either, until April of this year when the crowds were absolutely insane. We had friends there for spring break and they got caught by one of the closings but were able to get in later in the day. Apparently there are four stages of park closings -- this is the info I found online:

There are four stages to park closing:
Stage 1 – The parking lot entrance is closed. You can only access the park if you are using Disney Transportation.

Stage 2 – The ticket windows are all closed (and the automated Ticket Vending Machines are turned off). Unless you already have a ticket you cannot get in.

Stage 3 – Only people with Annual Passes or current Resort IDs will be allowed in.

Stage 4 – Nobody is allowed in.

Note – having restaurant reservations in a park, even with written proof, will not override a stage closing for you. Also, if you are staying at a Disney owned and operated Resort and have a ticket, you are guaranteed entry into "a" park. Not necessarily the one you want. And if you have entered and left a park and do not have a hopper you may not get into anything.

That's not from the WDW website, and I remember a thread on the Theme Parks Atractions & Strategies board about this but haven't tracked it down yet.

I wonder if the DVC front desk can still sell tickets when the park ticket windows are closed during stage 2 closure. I thought I've usually bought my tickets at the DVC front desk. Except for maybe the annual passes which had to be bought at the main entrance... as I recall. We're planning on buying 8 day park hoppers for me, DH and DD7, 8 day park hopper pluses for DD21 and DS17 and 7 day hoppers for MIL and niece. IF MK closes for crowds, we could hit another park and come back later... as long as they'll sell us the tickets.

We ran into this the Monday after Christmas this past year. Didn't know what was going on at the time, but when we got to the MK parking lot we were told the lot was closed, so we had to park at Epcot and then ride the monorail over. They even gave us a pass to get on the monorail. No one ever asked for the pass and we got into the gates for MK, but it wasn't a fun day. Hour or more waits for everything, PoTC, Splash Mountain, and HM. But we actually walked in to Mickey's Philharmagic.

I don't think on the 12th it would be that bad. It is usually just holidays that the parks are that crowded.

As for the O2Cool 3133 Mist 'N Sip X-Treme Hydration Bottle, the Target stores here have them. I purchased one a month or so ago and loved it. I dropped it Sunday getting ready to go to the parks and broke it, but found two more on Monday. The buy 3 get one free is a decent deal, they are $6 each here.

July 1st means just 17 more days till Disney! I'm excited, my daughter is excited, ( actually she requested Disney over Universal) but my husband, not so much. He just doesn't get the Disney magic. Thank goodness they have 5 golf courses!

We have 18 till we pull out of our driveway.......:cool1::banana:

Just noticed I passed a 1,000 posts..I still remember my first..(Not!!)

If anyone was thinking of the Mickey's Welcome in room celebration - I just wanted to add that through July 15th they are substituting a really cool floral arrangement "those famous shoes" or something like that instead of one of the banners, likes really pretty. It's in a mug, so you can reuse it! I am sooo excited!

In what area of Target did you find them? That's a better deal that what I just paid for the Cool Blast misters, so I'd like to look at the O2Cool 3133 Mist 'N Sip bottles...my DD14 is going to church girls' camp next week (in Georgia, in July, and they're outdoors much of the day) so I'd like to look at one of those for her. Thanks!
