Hey -- we're both leaving on the same day! I can't wait.

If we hear reports of a naked man wandering around, we'll know it's your DH. LOL

My DH insists he has enough clothes, but I know better. I need to magically make a few of his pairs of shorts disappear and some new replacements ones magically appear without him knowing about it....LOL :wizard: He did buy some sandals today to wear to WDW, though -- without my knowledge or input, so they aren't the ones I've been researching that everyone here recommended. We'll see how they work out! He got them at the Nike outlet and says they're really comfortable, so we'll see. I guess I can cross "sandals for DH" off the shopping list.

My DH did not own shorts until we got married. Cowboy head to toe! I have modified his wardrobe to make sense in the hot and humid weather here in Missouri! I even bought him a pair of crocs......that he actually wears!
When we first were dating we went to six flags and he wore cowboy boots to the park:rolleyes:. Yeah.
Where are you staying? We leave on the 17th but won't arrive til the 18th. Driving and taking a break.

Check in to POFQ next Monday for o:bride:

ur honeymoon!!!!!

Jen

I remember planning my honeymoon and wedding at the same time... so much fun! It will be GREAT!:thumbsup2

As for me, car and trunk are clean, and working on the laundry. I'll have about 5 more loads in the next 11 days, but no one can wear their disney clothes. If you think you might see naked DH's, come to VA. We might all be in pj's for a few days!

Well we are mostly ready. Just a few odd and ends left to do. So not bad!

I managed to turn this:

Into this:

So I have two suitcases, the cooler and snack bag for the van. And the cameras of course! Not bad! The rest of the stuff is pictures and birthday presents we are dropping off to family when we stop at the park on the way!

Where's all the stuff? You're not taking hardly anything?? :confused3 We'll have the whole van packed. Might take out one seat and leave it home. We also put a Thule on top for the stuff that won't fit in the van. I guess I would have been the person boarding the turn of the century trans-atlantic steamship with 15 steamer trunks! :lmao:

I can relate... my DH wore cowboy boots with his tailcoat to our wedding. He also wore a Stetson (which was quickly nixed by mom)... she didn't notice the boots. :rolleyes1 but he DOES know not to wear them for Disney. Its all about the Keens for Disney!

just 12 little days left!! I better get scrapping!!

My DH, on the other hand, will wait until the night before and then tell me that he doesn't have enough shorts for the trip.:sad2:
I've warned him that he'll go naked if he does this to me!

Our husbands must be related! :) I have asked mine to try on his "vacation" clothes more times than I can count. That would be the small section of nice clothes in his closet that he only wears when we go on vacation. These are to make the people we don't know and who don't know us think he has more class than he really does. If he were to wear what he normally wears around home on vacation people would automatically know he doesn't have much class. :rotfl: Anywho, he kept telling me he was fine and had plenty. Then he gets the bright idea that this may be a good time to lose weight. Finally about a week ago he walks through the house and announces that he has dropped 30+ pounds!! :scared1: It is at this time that I demand he try on clothes and of course they are all two sizes too big! Long story short...he got new vacation clothes. Men!! :sad2:

I'm so excited for you - starting this new chapter of your life.

actually I wouldn't mind just hanging out in my pjs for a few days. - They probably wouldn't appreciate it so much at the bank and grocery store though:rotfl:

The only shorts my Dh owned when we got married was a pair of cut-offs
I've gotten him into shorts but he is complaing about the polo shirts I bought him for the trip "Those look girly" he tells me.:rotfl:
So that's how you'll recognize us. He'll be the girly man with the family:lmao:

Actually there is more there than you think. I'm just good at packing!:lmao: I have about 6 outfits for each of the kids, some swimsuits etc. I also have the same for dh and I. Along with pj's etc. Also in there is 56 diapers, 3 bags of wipe refills, several pairs of shoes. Water misting fans, autograph books etc. I also am using that small black bag with AAA on it for snacks in the van. I even went as far as to divide out bags of vanilla wafers into snack sized ziplocks so I can just hand them a baggie instead of counting cookies on the road. Not in the picture is our cooler that plugs into the cig lighter. We keep it up front to keep a few drinks cold and handy. I also have extra boxes of juice and milks for the kids (packaged in ziplocks as well) in one of the suitcases. LOL Other than the overnight bag that I will throw together Wednesday it is all there! LOL

You forgot something!! Where is the wine :confused3 champagne? I haven't really packed anything yet.. still have 11 days to pack. Wait... not true.. I have 4 paper grocery bags in the pantry that I've started filling. I've got mini bottles of Moet & Chandon that I've been saving for the right occasion. I think this is it! with my in-laws dinner always includes wine ... so I'll bring some, although we probably will buy some at EPCOT too.

We'll be there for 8 days, then we're traveling to Melborne to visit a college for DS17. Good thing the villa has a washer/dryer.. although most of us have enough clothes to for 2 weeks without re-wear. We have 3 adults, 1 teen and 1 child, so that's alot of luggage. I'm also bringing my crock pot, ice tea pot, and snow cone maker. We've got only 2 dinner ADR's. Its been tempting, reading about all the ADR's other's have, but with a party of 7, the cost is a bit much. We have a CB (always do at least one) and the tea party for the ladies. My MIL is the queen of packed lunches! I'm waiting for the meal plan where they give you 4 or 5 snacks per day and skip the big meals!! :rotfl2:

Hey, if it can happen anywhere, its WDW, right? If dreams are a wish your heart makes when you're fast asleep, and WDW is where dreams come true, then you and I need to start sleeping more to get those dreams!

:lmao: That's right, we should!

Amen to that

:thumbsup2

I woke up this morning with cold symptoms...my sister who was visiting until last weekend and her DH came down with the flu two days after they left here, so I'm really hoping we don't get it...but I hate summer colds and I really don't need a summer cold right before Disney. I've already told my family -- no one is allowed to be sick on vacation this year! LOL And my DD14 had her wisdom teeth pulled two weeks ago and ended up with a slight infection...so she's back on antibiotics and hopefully that will take care of it -- otherwise, she'll have to have another procedure five days before we leave for Disney. Nope, no way -- not gonna happen! LOL I told her that she'd better take her antibiotics and do her salt water gargles religiously this week while she's away at church youth conference!!!

Send get well vibes, please!

:flower3: I'm sending you the vibes! I just hope that all of us and our families will have a virus/sick-free vacation at WDW!

We just found out that we can take vacation, so on Thursday we booked a week at WDW
We are staying at CSR from Sunday 7/12 to Wednesday 7/16. On Thursday, we will be at the Boardwalk Inn for the last two nights! We couldn't get the entire two weeks at CSR, and with our AP rate, we saved so much, we are splurging on the Deluxe BWI. How great is that! I am hoping the weather breaks just a bit, cause it is HOT in Hotlanta now:) Now that the excitement has ebbed a little, reality is crashing in - I have a ton to do in prep for the World! But, we are so excited - except our DD 19 cannot go with us - our first trip without her - she has to work:(
We want to do the Fireworks dessert thing - do you use ADR for that? Any tips anyone wants to add is appreciated!

I can't even imagine booking a trip in such a small amount of time! Are you going to try for any ADR's?
The Fireworks dessert thing, you probably should book an ADR if you're planning on doing it. It requires a CC hold. It looks like they take walk-ups if there's room available, but on the dining board people have already said it's been booked!

This is my husbad to a tee. He got new pants and got them altered, but won't try them on. So I get to pray that they fit him right when we get there.
He started weight lifting, lost weight but gained loads of muscle so the sleeves of his shirts are all to small. And I just got them for him. :sad2:

Hey Pegasus - Will look for you with your tiara on the 9th! That is my birthday too! :bday: I probably will shop for a new Tink watch - so, you will be more noticeable than me :rotfl:! My two DDs and I will be in MK for the morning and then DHS for FDP @ Brown Derby and then Fantasmic...

You won't be able to miss me, my twisted sister has gotten some kind of t-shirts made for us. I am pretty sure mine will say "It's my birthday" really big on it. LOL

Too excited to work, sleep, etc....

Just reminiscing about last year and can't wait for those awesome 4th of July fireworks from our balcony........

The first small picture is a link to a slideshow. Fireworks 07/04/08 CR balcony 11th floor:

We have decided this year the 4th is a "no parks" day.

Suitcase is packed, will do a load of laundry Wednesday night, so I will have clean clothes for work when I get back.

Oh and I still have a hole in the middle of my kitchen floor, which might be fixed by the time I get home.........

only you all would understand...I bought milk dated July 9 and thought "I will be in Disney when this milk expires!" LOL

I also have a dh who needs shorts, its been so cold up here in MA that we haven't even needed them yet, so I have to get him to dig out what he has. Took the kids for sneakers today. DD16 will probably just flip flop the whole time but I wanted her to have sneaks just in case. DS9 needed new sneaks.

I am still lacking in shorts..but I think I'll manage now. I"m tired of shopping LOL.

One time my oldest daughter who was 16 at the time went to Disney without enough shorts... but not to worry... we found a pair at Mousegear. And lo and behold... it has Mickey on them. I once packed all my socks and somehow skipped packing my tennis shoes. Found a pair (with Mickey on the sides) at Mousegear! Don't forget there is that new woman's clothing shop at DTD too. Can't think of its name. Shopping at Disney is fun!:thumbsup2 And for those with their cars, there is an outlet mall nearby. My friend got some really cute clothes there on her last trip.:yay:

only you all would understand

What would we do without the DIS family that understand?? On second thought, would WE be this way without DIS????:lmao: BTW, I LOVE your tag. I giggle everytime I read it!

I'm 11 days out, and since Friday I've been thinking, two weeks from now, I'll be in the car. Two weeks from now, I'll be at Chef Mickeys. Two weeks from right now, I'll be in Animal Kingdom..... Starting to sound like the chic from American Pie "One time, at band camp"

We're staying at CBR...we'll drive down on the 17th (about a 5 hour drive for us). I can't wait! Where are you staying?

LOL! "MEN!" is right! But good job for him for losing the weight.

I was just telling my DH tonight that I needed to go through his khaki shorts and see what needed to be replaced because we weren't taking the old, stained, worn out ones with us (he coaches softball so his khaki shorts get stained and worn out pretty quickly at the softball field). He tried to argue with me. Oh well -- he WILL look at least halfway decent when we go on vacation! LOL
