Welcome to our thread and to the DIS. I will add you to our who's going list on page 3 and post 39. It would help if I knew which dates you plan to be at WDW. Lois

Our July trip is back on!!! We booked last September for July, but seriously considered canceling a few weeks ago. We got in on the 4/3 deal this week and the trip is back on! :dance3: We will be at the Yacht Club July 18-25 then one night at the Polynesian!

Hello!

I know I share your excitement. I would be beyond myself if I though we were not going to be able to go and then DISNEY handed me a gift that once again made it possible to go. I know that I am saving 336 dollars because of the buy 4 get 3 free offer. We had to be upgarded to a preferred room to get the offer at Music but we might really like being closer to everything. I plan to push myself and being closer to the bus and food may be a Godsend. I am concerned about the noise level.

Any one out there stayed in a preferred room at a value resort? Any advise you might want to pass on? Lois

So nice to fine a place to be excited again about the trip! We have all been so down in the dumps because we were so close to canceling that I hesitate to get everyone excited again just yet. It will be great to come here when I am feeling positive and hopeful and just HAVE to talk about it! :goodvibes

So, we've decided to keep our reservation at Pop Century. We've decided to add an extra day to our trip.

The only big decision left to make:

Dining Plan, Deluxe Dining Plan or no dining plan at all.

We love eating at nice places and having sit-down meals, so we're kinda leaning toward the Deluxe, but it's A LOT OF MONEY.

I need opinions from the experts. Anyone??

popcorn::

I know I could go to the Disney Dining subforum for opinions, but I'd rather have all of your opionions, my July 2009 compadres...
:worship:
Who is doing the Dining Plan?? Deluxe Dining Plan???

(I've only got 73ish more days before making my ADRs, gotta decide quick:rotfl2: )

We're doing the basic dining plan. This will be our first time using the dining plan and we're so excited! The deluxe sounds great, but I think it's just way too much for us w/ our two little ones. I'd want to try it if we do a trip w/out the kids though! And if we could budget the money for it!

156 days and counting! :teacher: We are doing the basic dining plan too. We have used it in the past. We really use a lot of table service credits but we will just have to make the basic plan work for us this trip. I have to re-think the dining reservations now because we have changed our trip dates. I need to go look on the boards for the updated snack list for the plan also!:thumbsup2

I am also doing the basic dining plan. I really wanted to have deluxe but can't with the military discount. we are still planning on having TS meals for lunch and dinner so we will have to pay out of pocket for our lunches.
the deluxe plan would have been better for us because we wanted to try 2 or 3 signature restaurants and now with the basic we are only doing 1.
If you are planning on eating at signature restaurants I'd go with the deluxe dining. If not, I think 3 meals a day is way too much food so i'd stick with the basic.

This is my way of thinking exactly. I would love to try some of the signature restaurants but my kids would rather spend the time in the ones they consider more "fun". I completely agree that 3 meals a day is way too much food! We grab a quick bite in the morning on our way out to the parks and then have lunch and dinner. We have a big sit down breakfast on the day we leave Disneyworld.:upsidedow

I agree that the basic dinning plan is more than enough. We are going to use the snack points for breakfast with some breakfast bars brought from homew. Then use the counter for lunch and the table service for dinner. That is more than enough food,

Tom you are right we only have a few days to make our final decisions before we make those reservations. I can not wait to finish it up and begin the final packing. It can't get here fast enough until it get here then I will not have enough time to get it all done. Such is life. Lois

We are staying at the All Star Sports now!! :cool1: We stayed in a preferred room in Sports last September and we were in the Surf Board building in the back so it was quiet. We aren't paying for one this time around since i didn't think the resort was so big that we needed to pay $100.00 more. Did anyone get any deals on the dining? I looked and it would be $800.00 for two adults and one child. Can I hope they will add free dining on as well? :rolleyes1

I am not looking for or expecting any deals on the dinning. If I had not needed to do the preferred room to get the 336 in savings I would not have gone that way. I have updated the list with the new information. Lois

I don't expect them to do that either. I'm just happy we could take advantage of the buy 4 get 3. Thanks for updating us..

I guess we can dream about free dining. I never expected that they would offer us any deal at all since July is one of the busy months. Attendence must be down. I wonder just how much it is down and if it will help with our wait times. Lois
