hmmm yes! well i tried, but it's difficult as i'll be with a party of 8.. so i will have to 'go with the flow' a bit .. make sure everyone gets to do the rides/attractions that they want!

i may have also started to think about what to wear each day & evening outfits for dinners... :rolleyes1 .. and made long lists of things we need to buy still and pack :rotfl:

i luv planning wdw vacations!!

Barbie princess:

Yes!! I spend more money shopping for Disney than I do shopping for anything else the entire year. Lists are my favorite!! I love matching the shorts with the tank, and buying way more things for the trip than I need...but it's so much FUN! I have not started that obsession yet...I usually wait until the school year ends but this time I've got some other things to plan for to...pesky wedding plans hindering my trip planning!

thank goodness you do this too Nikki... I thought I was alone!! i've bought a pair of khaki coloured shorts, so they are my 'animal kingdom' safari shorts, hehe! and a dress that has a tropical flower print, so i'm thinking that to wear to Sanaa.. !

I went shopping yesterday and bought the last few things on my 'need to get' list.. so anything I buy now is just coz I want it! also need to do shop for suncream, shower gel, etc.. but that can be nearer the time :D

i alway pack too much, have to put some in DBF's suitcase to make sure i don't go over the weight-limit on the plane :rotfl:

Barbie princess:

67 days to go..

Count me in too! I have been shopping for coolmax shirts as I am used to hot/dry heat in CA's Central Valley and am "trying" to psych up for humidity! Poor DDs live in San Diego (college and new career) and I am hoping they'll be okay in hot/humid WDW! :scared: I think I'll ship in a couple cases of H2O!

Oh, I always have an animal kingdom outfit too!! When we did the luau, I made sure to have a special outfit for that too!! :lmao:

the bottom ticker tells how long til our anniversary vacation!

Congratulations on your AKV point add-on. I wish we could add-on to our SSR points, but not in this economy says DH. Boohoo! I'd love to get some at AKV. The new BLT looks really nice, but I'm not really a contemporary gal. I'm more turn of the century charm.

I am using Microsoft OneNote to plan my trip. In that program, I created a special notebook to keep track of my disney trip planning. I have pages for my grocery shopping lists, a page where I copied all the park hours for that week, a page where I keep track of reservations for dinner. I use Google Calendar to block out time for the weeks planned activities and reservations. I am starting to fill in which parks are best to go to at which times. I've blocked out when to slip into HS during Early Magic Hours to try to get into Toy Story Mania. We couldn't get near the place on our last trip Oct 08. I have bought my 6 yr. old daughter her dress for the tea party at the Grand. I bought a new swim suit. I also bought a safari shirt that I can wear for dinner at Sanaa or Boma.

I have pre-existing Word document packing lists for Disney that I've used and edited over and over the past 10 years. Anytime I discover something new that needs to be added to the list, I add it knowing that it will never be left out again. I remove things from previous years that are no longer needed (like diapers). I will email my mother-in-law a copy of the packing list that will apply to her and my niece who are joining us from Texas. They're flying, we're driving.

I am so glad there are others out there whose every word out of their mouths inevitably seems to be... ."at Disney World...."

The only thing I haven't been able to completely figure out is how I am going to deal with my very curly hair with all that humidity. This will be our first visit to Orlando in July. We've always gone in March, April, October or November. It wasn't really overly humid at any of those times. Anybody have any thick curly hair frizz control ideas?

I need to order a cake while we there since that is my son's birthday. He really wanted to spend the day in the park with Indiana Jones.

That sounds like fun! :cool1:

Hey - where do you order the cakes from? Have you ever had one from there? I was wondering how good they were and how much they cost. We will be celebrating DD's birthday during our next visit to WDW and wanted to have a cake for her. I wonder if the restaurant will do something for her. I guess I should contact them directly.

The restaurants should be able to do a birthday cake for you. I know that you can order bigger fancier cakes in advance. You need to call the Disney Dream Makers. You can find some of them at the Disney Florist. Also try calling the Bakery in MK. I know that there is a number to call because I saw it on Food Network. Try calling 407-WDISNEY and ask. That's the main trip planning number for non-DVC. If you're DVC, try calling member services.

Sorry, just had to share my excitement!

Today is officially less than 2 months to go!!!!!! I can't wait!!! :dance3:

(Can you tell I'm a little excited?) :rotfl:

Thanks for the great advice/help! :thumbsup2 I will check into that info. I would love for her to have a chocolate cake brought out to her during dinner. She would love that! :goodvibes

Howdy. :) I haven't been on the Dis in forever. But my sister and I are going to WDW for my birthday in July. :D I'm way excited. I made the last of our ADRs last night and we're set to go. We'll be there July 1st - July 5th. We're eating at all of my favourite places and I'm way excited for it. :D

We've never been during July 4th, so we're a little nervous about that. We have been in July, but not in a long time. We usually go in January. Why did I have to be born so close to the 4th? :p

To order any custom bakery cake, call the Walt Disney World Resort at (407) 827-2253. Requires advanced reservations.

I found that information on the website. They have some really awesome cake designs.

Oh, don't say that! I can only imagine what the 4th of July is like at WDW! I bet that the fireworks are absolutely amazing - more than normal! ;) You will have a terrific time!

The fireworks should be worth it. We decided to spend the 4th at EPCOT. We figure we'll be nice and mellow after our trip around World Showcase. Mmmm fiesta margaritas and a few Grey Goose slushes. :goodvibes

Does anyone have an updated link to what cakes are available (I'm sure it's here somewhere but I'm feeling a bit muddled and overwhelmed tonight...but all reservations are made except Pirates League!
