i had another one of those crazy "arrived at WDW and didn't have anything I needed with me" dreams last night...it was awful! In my dream, my BIL and SIL showed up, along with my sister and her DH, and joined our trip and BIL refused to follow "the plan" (yes, I' a bit OCD about my touring plans) and a bunch of our group decided to go with them and blow off what my parents wanted to do...and so we decided to go back to the hotel and regroup and I realized I had left my UOG, trip planning book (that I carry in the parks), and list of ADRs at home. It was aful.

Do you think maybe I'm a bit stressed about making sure my parents have a good time and we do things they want to do (they'll only be in the parks for us for one day, then they're going back home)? Ugh! I keep asking my parents for input on what they would like to do and I keep getting the following responses:

When I ask my Dad: "Ask your Mom -- I'll do whatever she wants."
When I ask my Mom: "Ask your Dad -- I'll do whatever he wants."
Or, the following: "We'll do whatever our grandchildren want to do. Just seeing them enjoying themselves is enough for us."

UGH --come on, Mom and Dad, for the love of all that is Disney, give me some input on the things you would like to do for just that one day!!

And then in my dream, I totally spaced out my DD10's appointment at BBB and so we missed it...and I couldn't get another appointment scheduled and she was absolutely devastated.

I think my sanity right now depends on me getting my planning book put together quickly so I can keep reassuring myself that everything is scheduled, done, and taken care of. LOL

I have those dreams all the time! Throw in a wedding the day before vacation and the dreams are even worse!! Actually, I'm surprised that I've only had one or two of those dreams so far. I expect them to increase drastically over the next three weeks....

We will have our laptop, which reminds me I need to sit it up to plug my camera in to, along with our external hard drive. Staying at POR so we have to pay for our internet, can't remember if it is $7 or $9 for a 24 hour period.

I agree with you. I would hate to give up my truck. I laughed reading your stories, I know they weren't funny at the time. We were moving from MD to TX one time and my alternator started going out just south of Little Rock. I was driving our Saturn and the DH was driving our truck pulling a trailer. So, it was 100 degrees out and I had everything turned off and the windows down. Stopped at one stop sign and looked at my dog who was so hot hanging out the window and thought "He's going to fall out!" Just as I reached for him, yup, he fell out. We had walkie talkie's to communicate with each other so I started screaming and crying "the dog fell out, the dog fell out!" I opened my door to jump out and get him thinking he would get run over. Nope, he was standing at my door with this look on his face "I fell out of the car, let me in!" He was fine, a little cut on his jaw. The DH had finally pulled over and when I caught up to him, he just yelled at me to get out of the car before realizing why I was so upset. The car finally died right there in an abandoned parking lot. We finally got help and got out of there, but it will be the move we always remember.

:woohoo: About Harry Potter. We plan on seeing it the 16th. We will be leaving Universal and moving over to POR. The DSD didn't want to do Disneyworld, so we will eat dinner and then go see Harry Potter. She gets on the airplane home the next day. I wonder how early I should order tickets? Anyone else going?
:lmao: That poor dog - but ya got to admit that is hilarious:lmao:

Harry Potter is what I expect to get me through my Disney Blues. We will see it after we return home. Either the weekend of 18th or the 25th. Lois
I'll be at Disney when it opens - so when you're at disney - I'll have to get through my we're back home blues with Harry Potter

Also, just completed my online check-in. It wouldn't let me add in any Room Requests so my DU TA will be calling it in. I have so appreciated her assistance! This has been the smoothest planning out of our three trips :woohoo:!!
:woohoo:

Hate to bring the board down.. but another celebrity has died. Floridian and Oxyclean pitchman Billy Mays has died suddenly at age 50!! His wife found him unresponsive this morning! How tragic!! People magazine had recently within the last few months done a spread on his family and him. :grouphug: to his wife and family. RIP Billy Mays.

What?!!!!:scared1:

now to the planning...

Need help - We want to stop at clearwater beach on the way home - or somewhere right in there - anyone know of any good places to stay on the beach around there that don't cost $300.00 a night?:confused3

I found this place online which - depending on the size of your family - looks like a great deal. It's called the Crystal Palms Beach Resort on Treasure Island and it gets raving reviews on Trip Advisor. A 1BR is $119 on our dates, a 2BR $159 and they have a buy 2 nights, get 1 free package.

I just bought a gigantic box of Sun Chips at Costco for our trip! I sure hope that Thule on top of the van can hold all my "extras".

When I ask my MIL for her input, she also says things like "whatever you want to do.... I'll just go with the flow". :scared1: I cant' even get her to tell me what kind of restaurants she'd like to eat at. "whatever you kids want to do I'll go along with....".... She did however indicate that she wants to go grocery shopping with me when we get there (as if I'm not gonna pack the van to the gills with groceries:rotfl:) and she thinks that Texas has enough Tex-Mex food that she doesn't want to try EPCOT's Mexico Pavillion food or Coronado's. I've told her we're doing the Animal Kingdom as well as Sanaa and Boma... and she said "Waco has a nice zoo and I know the whole board"..... ugh!! She also says that it'll be fun for her just because she's with us!! Yeah yeah... we want her to be captured by the Disney magic! :wizard:

My DD6 wants me to add the banana so here it is for her..

I didn't realize they spoke Dutch in Belgium! Silly me... for some reason I thought they spoke German and French. I like to order my meal in German in the Germany pavillion. DS17 took a few years of German and so did DH and I. However, in my household growing up... Yiddish was often spoken. Yiddish is really a dialect of German with a bunch of different word choices and expressions. Sometimes I can't tell the difference because in my mind they're the same. I have to ask DS if he's familiar or not to know. My grandparents spoke Yiddish and on my mom's side, I think it was my grandfather's first language. He came from Russia in 1908.

... here's a funny story and a cautionary tale for any gossiper in any language. When I was in Jr. High, a bunch of Korean girls were in front of me walking into the school.... they were having a conversation in their language (that I don't speak) discussing the fat thighs:sad2: of some other girls. For some reason, (telepathic moment), I knew exactly what they were saying and I chimed into the conversation..... they were so shocked... and embarrassed... to say the least. I bet they never gossiped again... at least within earshot of anyone else. :rotfl::rotfl:

Belgium is a tiny little country with 3 official languages: Dutch, French and German. About 6 million ppl speak Dutch, 4 million speak French and less than 100,000 ppl speak German. It gets pretty complicated! We have 4(!) governments and just about all political issues come down to the language thing...

I love it when you can do something like what you did with the Korean girls :rotfl2:. In 2005, a friend and I were at Six Flags Magic Mountain in line for X (amazing coaster btw). We were in line for 2 hours and the whole time there was this little group of American teens behind us who must've spent a Summer in France or something, because they only spoke French to each other (albeit with a indisguisable accent). At one point, one of the girls was analyzing my shoes. I couldn't help but step in and say "they"re pretty, aren't they?" (in French). She turned bright red and for the rest of the queue they watched their every word .

Only 6 more days until AKL!!!:happytv::banana::banana::banana::laundy::cheer2:

I leave in 20 days. I started packing last week. I think I will be packing and repacking until we arrive. This is our first vacation together, so I am somewhere between overpacking and praying I have enough. :laundy:

Thanks cosmicgirl I'm gonna check that out right now.

Wow it is so exciting that we are all getting so close:cloud9:

Fantasmic is a great way to start your trip! Are you on the meal plan? Buffet's are great on the meal plan but not so much for paying cash. I think the price for kids is high at buffet's, so if you're on the meal plan.. extra value.

Is anyone else bringing their laptops to Disney? We get free high speed internet at the DVC villas, so wooo hoo.... can stay in touch with our July people! Do other resorts have internet? :cheer2:

I am just so excited that I was finally able to get it!!:banana: Yes we are on the dining plan, so our first meal at WDW will be the buffet at H&V. :cool1:

Nikki, I cannot even imagine trying to also plan a wedding at the same time!! But you're so organized and on top of things -- it will all work out beautifully!

I am so excited!!!!!!!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1::banana::dance3:I want to start packing tomorrow, but DH says I have to clean out the trunk first so we know what will fit. I have all kinds of chairs, grocery bags, backpack with activities for DD, my wrap I wear her in, and who know what all else in there! So that's first on my list for the morning, and maybe start getting some outfits together.

Yesterday, I finally got DH to look through my planning notebook. DD, who has never been, answered his ? "What does BTMRR stand for?" She's been reading my guidebooks, and her Birnbaum for kids, a lot lately!

This am, DH who's been so-so about the trip, and mostly just endures all my ranting and planning said "For some reason, I am getting excited"!!!

Yet, I am getting some anxiety, and becoming a party pooper. "It's going to be hot, everyone will get grumpy, it'll probably rain, and we'll all catch some kind of virus." WHAT IN THE WORLD IS WRONG WITH ME??????:confused3
