*********OFFICIAL January 2015 Thread - COME CHECK IN!!! ***************

:headache:

So my husband's boss told my husband last week they may have to plan a work trip the week of our first ever family Disney trip, and we might have to move our trip. Likely we'll go the week after, so the first week in February now. We started planning this trip in April...booked flights on miles in July and hotel was booked in September. I'm a Type A planner to the max and this has thrown a huge kink in my plans. I've literally had a headache since Friday when I found this out. Now it looks like my husband will go on the work trip and fly to Anaheim and meet us. One benefit is his flight is paid for now. On the other hand, that leaves ME to pack everything and get through the airport with my carry-on, my son's carry-on, carseat and stroller. I'm already stressing!

I just had to vent! ARGH!! The worst part is not knowing yet...hopefully we'll know something within a day or two and I can scramble and rebook everything. I'm overwhelmed because we booked flights on miles and I called American Airlines (or American't as I graciously refer to them) and tried to figure out the fees we'll incur switching everything. That way I know how much to tell my husband his work owes us for making us change all this! :)

Regardless, we're still going! Just not sure when now.

CRISIS AVERTED!!!!
We got the email yesterday the work trip is early in January now, so our trip stays as planned! Whew!! All that stressing for nothing! But such a relief...I can breathe again. :cool1::yay:

YAY! Let the countdown ever shorten! LOL!

Looks like the fireworks are down most of January. I thought we would get them on the weekends. :/

After a long wait and a bit of pixie dust, we got it! BB F! dinner package on 1/30 @ 5:00! Yay!

So good to hear... FWIW Vacation Planning just confirmed our dinner package for 25 January so we are happy too.

I'm also hoping the fireworks do pop up on the weekend schedule soon!:)

Anyone know where we can find an updated rehab/closure list for January?

We're good with this list. Wonder when the Small World holiday overlay will come out? We didn't get to ride Small World last spring (it was closed & dry). I'm really hoping to be able to ride it this time!

Whew! I thought Peter Pan's Flight was going to be closed longer than that...looks like we're good to go! Now, if they would only push back Soarin' a month. That's one of my favortes. :(

Looks like IASW closes starting the 24th (first day of my visit) oh well, at least PP is up which I thought would be down, but can't figure out Grizzly River all reports seem to say 1/20 only day closed but it is still not open through the 24th on the disney calendar, not that it would probably be warm enough and NOT one of the ones I was really worried about missing. Still SOOO many rides I really want to see are going to be open keeping fingers crossed.

Not complaining still but dang! 0 for 2 on IASW! And I love that ride! Love the song, love the dolls, love love love. Told my hubby just now and he said "Is it ever open?" LOL!

Just means you gave an excuse to come back real soon!:rotfl:

Feeling happy that we come right before the PP and IASW refurbs - though DD is sad we will miss Winnie the Pooh

Our trip is going to be here before we know it! Cannot wait!!

Kinda bummed that they have so many rides closed during the Star Wars races! I much preferred when it was Tink and a week later when so many rides will be open!

Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Bobsleds, Winnie the Pooh, Soarin', AND World of Color all down that weekend (and I always get some chowder at Pacific Wharf too!)... I know you always risk headliners being down in the off season but that is three out of four mountains for goodness sake... If they had tossed in Jungle Cruise and Pirates then I'd just sleep in every day and spend the afternoon in Sam's! Well, to be fair Sam's is still very much the plan... :lmao:

Getting excited for my girls' weekend but I'm a little bummed at all the closures, too. Splash is my favorite ride, and even though it may be chilly I probably would have ridden anyway and I will miss it. Also with Soarin' and maybe Grizzly down, the whole section by the Grand Californian entrance will be quiet... that will be weird.

Luckily I was just there in August and nothing was closed, so I will recover! Hopefully some nice short lines at the end of January (as well as an escape from the cold) will remind me why DL is my favorite place whether I "Splash" or not!

Oh I dunno.... Everyone said after I had 2 boys to go for a 3rd to get my girl. Oh no, I'd end up with 3 boys! LOL! Then there's the fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. There's no way we'll make another trip before our APs expire in April. We're cruising the Canal with Mickey around that time. The rest of the year has cruises already booked as well. Spring '16 will be our youngest's choice. He wants to get far north like Iceland. Then we'll have 2 kids in college. Eek! Just not looking like we'll be heading back to DL for a good long while. I'll never say never, tho. It could happen!

My package arrived today! I am so excited!! What a nice tote bag we received. I expected one of the plastic totes, but this is a nice insulated tote with a zipper and pockets.

I am confused about one thing. I know, only one? Lol. With our documents we received one Extra Magic Hour voucher that listed the days available for each park. It says it is good for one day at one park for one adult. I thought if we were staying onsite we could enter the parks early every day (on the day available in whichever park). Would someone please explain this for me?
