Can't believe I am only finding this thread now - been planning for months!

DH, DS8, DD4 & I are having a quickie trip from 1/12-13, staying at GCH. SIL is getting married in LA - so we thought we'd add two days at DL as a surprise for the kids - but it is torture trying to keep it secret until Christmas! Just got my Disney ornament - will be part of the reveal on Christmas about our trip

Have been checking the DL schedule for refurbs - looks like the day we arrive will be the first day of many lengthy refurbs - fingers crossed that the rumors are somehow wrong!

So far, planning wise:
- Blue Bayou ADR done! Excited - will be our first time! Been poring over menus & I already know what we're ordering!
- Execucar shuttle to SNA booked
- still need to get little goodies to surprise the kids while in lines - need to keep my eyes peeled at the Target dollar section

We'll be there the exact dates you're going! We debated when to tell our son, even thought about not saying anything and just take him along on "daddy's work trip". After more consideration, we're going to tell him when we open our Christmas presents. Now I just need to figure out how to do it in a way he'll figure it out, since he can't read (he's only 4)!!

I'm okay with those. The 3 that were closed during our first trip in the spring that I'm really crossing my fingers to get to ride are Indy, Small World, & Nemo Subs. Crossing my fingers!

My family as well. We are crossing our fingers over Splash. The rumor has it down on the 12th.

We've made our Minnie's Breakfast reservation and a Fantasmic! @ Blue Bayou res too.

We decided to skip out on Cafe Orleans to do the Fantasmic dinner but we'll see if it actually happens. My boyfriend isn't a huge fan of the food options so we might cancel it sooner to the date.

BUT OH GOSH. I found this shirt that says KEEP CALM AND TOUCH THE BUTT with a silhouette of Nemo at the top, I had to get it for him for Christmas.

47 days til we leave, 20 until my semester is over and I can fully commit to only thinking about our Disney trip.

i booked my Blue Bayou lunch reservations on the first day they were open - and i re-checked a few minutes later and that time slot was not available - so i think i got the last 11:30 lunch res available for that day. i was surprised! maybe a lot of people cancel later? it is supposed to be a "2" crowd level that day per touring plans!

I think that is just to remove the overlay, not a long term refurbishment.

Thanks hun! I have been MIA for a looong time! Our DD is still sick. We think she is suffering from tonsil stones. Pray this is taken care of before our trip. It has been over a month since this started.

My husband & I are going one our first real trip to Disneyland (I spent 1 day at DL once in 2012) Jan 14th to 19th - staying at Paradise Pier. We will be running in the Rebel Challenge. I had started a Pre-Trip that I've been horrible about my training updates in though.

Go to the Disneyland website. Click Parks and Tickets. Then click on "more park hours" under today's hour. There is a calendar icon next to today's date. Just click on it and right arrow to January. I think the calendar is now open to the 12th.
