*********OFFICIAL January 2015 Thread - COME CHECK IN!!! ***************

Welcome farmfresh & welcome to Excited much!!! And wdwfan22, I edited your stay! AWESOME!! One more day in Disney, you're so lucky! DH and I wish we could change our trip from 10 nights to 14, but it's too late now. We would likely have a huge penalty charge to do that now. We booked our flights over a month ago. :(

So, aside from our dates of travel and where we are all staying, what are some preperations you are doing to get ready for your trip? I have started scoping out Dis-signers to make some graphics so I can make t-shirts for the kids!

WELCOME EVERYONE!

Aw 204charity, cute shirts are a must!

On our trip in Feb 13' I made two shirts. One with the fab 5 as cupcakes that I got from the disboards, and another with a really minimalistic design of minnie and mickey's colors. Mine was a circle with polka dots and my boyfriend's was a red circle with two yellow button size'd ovals.

On our Feb 14' trip my mom & aunt went with us and we arrived on Valentine's Day. So my mom bought Valentine's themed mickey and minnie head designs on etsy and us girls wore Minnie and Christopher wore Mickey. She also bought different character heads for each of us. I got Ursula, Chris got Rafiki, my mom had the Evil Queen, and my aunt had a baseball themed head. Then Chris and I also had Chip & Dale mickey heads that we wore during Minnie's breakfast since we knew we would see them both.

On our last trip I didn't make any shirts, but we did wear our Chip & Dale shirts for our breakfast. I'm wearing Dale right now and it's been washed so many times that the face is washing away. Don't use Target brand Up & Up transfer sheets lol

Chris asked me about shirts for January's trip and I haven't really decided on anything. I'm a dress/legging kind of girl, so I'd really rather not have to wear shorts or pants on our trip. But I'll probably still try to come up with at least one special shirt for this time :wizard:

BUT! I do need to find a new autograph book for us. We used a small hardbound sketchbook for 3 trips this year and there are only a few pages left. Since it's a new year (and I decorated that book with 2014) I need to try and find another one of similar size and with paper of similar weight. We take our copics with us and sketch out the characters for them to sign so the thicker the better.

We're also having a Finding Nemo movie night tonight! We're having fish are food not friends (sry Nemo) tilapia fillets, seaweed asparagus, and shells & white cheddar pasta. OH! And with Crush's orange crush soda. Then I was going to make blue jello for dessert but I wanted a cake.. so now I'm making a cake with blue whipped topping and cream cheese frosting jellyfish. And if I feel up to it I'll pipe out a nemo and dory in frosting too.

Me, DH and DS's ages 13 and 12yo will be there Jan 15-19! We will be staying at CCI.

DH and I are running the Star Wars Half Marathon(which training is not going so well):crazy2:

We're having one set of shirts made (it's all I could get my husband to agree to) and we'll wear them on the day of our character breakfast. We've got a friend sending over a list of rides specifically for toddlers/pre-schoolers. I'm trying to figure out when we'll tell our son because I want to show him videos of some of the rides so he can decide if he wants to ride or not, yet I still want the trip to be a surprise! Other than that, with 4 days and during so-called "low season" we're just going to play it by ear. As we get closer, I'll get a list of must-do rides. Hubby rides roller coasters, I don't. So I have a feeling we'll be spending some time apart in the park so we don't waste too much time waiting for rides to finish.

We're flying in earlier that weekend and will be going to visit family in San Diego, so before we return the rental car, we'll go grocery shopping for snacks to take to the parks. I keep thinking we have plenty of time, but it's actually getting closer, finally!! :cool1:

Hi everyone. Our little group is sure growing. If anyone is looking at getting a grocery delivery. I've looked into Vonn's and am wondering

Just updated the expected closure list in Post #1 if you want to update your list of must-do's or at least some of the options you plan on showing your DS.

Looks like quite a few - I'm sad that Splash Mountain will be closed, but relieved BTMRR won't be!!! Whew. :thumbsup2

Hey She Taz, we were not planning on grocery delivery.....but now that you mention it, and without a dining plan to fall back on, maybe some snacks and drinks sent to the room would be a good idea. Mind you, we are staying with family prior to our trip, so we can always pick up some groceries before we go!!

I figure if I can save money by having breakfast foods and snacks in the room I can spend more money on character meals and fun things.

Hi everyone! My mom and I will be visiting the DLR from January 8-12, staying at the Fairfield Inn. We are both WDW vets and are new to DLR, I was there as a small child and don't remember anything! I am thankful for this group because I know I will have a lot of questions!

Welcome to the group!! I feel like a WDW vet too - DLR is going to be so new and wonderful..... :)

Got some of my DISigns back yesterday! So excited to make the kids t-shirts!! I also have requested some Cast Member Thank You Cards, I will print them as 4x6 photos and plan on handing them out to the CM's that really make our day special!!! I love to spread my own pixie dust while on my Disney Vacations!! Looking at making a family journal too, so we can each write our best memories of the day.

You are so organized. I've never thought of using DISigns for our Disneyland or World trips. Used them on our cruises to make magnets to decorate our door. Have even put it on pillowcases and canvas so that the characters could sign them for our daughter. Maybe will have to make t-shirts for this trip.

I say DO IT!! I also make little tip envelopes for Mousekeeping. :wizard:

Looks like we're joining the January club! My TA/friend mentioned the Disney Visa promo for the Disneyland hotels so I had to look. Our APs are still valid, flights are pretty cheap. It's like we can't not do it! My brother who is also a big Disney fan but has never been to California is joining us. It'll be just DH, my brother, & me. We're leaving all our teenagers home. ((I don't feel bad. They've been to Disneyland & on a Disney cruise this year. In May we're taking them on the Disney Wonder 2-week Panama Canal cruise. We aren't evil parents, I promise!))

So, add us to the list 1/21-1/25 at GCH.

We're sooooo gonna have fun. Now I just pray for better weather than when we went in the spring. I don't care if it rains. Just please no Santa Ana sandblasting wind! I'll take the rain. I'd rather not bake again. :)

Space Mountain because last year at WDW it hurt my head jarring me so much
Carsland at night soo cool. The street and Radiator Springs Racers

Is SM better and smoother in DLR? If so, I may have to add it to my list! LOL

I too am looking forward to some rides at night! When we were in DW in 2012, we were never on any rides after dark, just shopping, eating and resting after the sun went down. I fully intend on trying for RSR and BTMRR after dark!!
