For some reason, I can't find the group, maybe because I left :confused3

Oh well.

I'm sorry. I don't know what to do since FB says I can't add you again. Maybe do a Google search as I'm sure others accidentally did this too. There must be a solution.

Did everyone see on the Disney Blog that fantasyland will have its official opening on December 6th :dance3:

Yay!! I wonder if numbers will pick up in January or just in December?

Yeah! I read that last night! Waiting for BOG ADRs to open now!

I read rumor of August 28th to book BOG...just rumor but when it's confirmed I'll post here. I imagine the website and phones will be quite busy that day!

From Screamscape this morning:

Confirmed - (8/10/12) The latest buzz from the Rhinos is that the Festival of the Lion King show is expected to close in January to make way for Avatar. The long term plan is to move to into a new theater somewhere, but it sounds like the show will close down completely long before this happens.

--------------------

I wonder when it will close in January...

WOW!!....thats a bummer...i wonder how much other stuff around there will shut down??

I hope it doesn't close untli the end of January. Since we are staying at AKL, we were planning on spending our last day at AK and the LIon King Show is family favorite to see on Januaury 12th.

Please keep us posted if you read anything else on this.

I know...I suspect all of tat land will be closing in sections next year...kind of like Fantasyland last year. So I think we'll try to see the characters and the lion king show on this Jan trip, if they are still open..

Will do. I suspect it will close in the beginning of January, after the holiday crowds leave.

I hope we all still get to see the Lion King show in January. I can see the need to relocate Camp Minnie and Mickey. But why get rid of the Lion King Show? It fits perfectly in AK and always a must do for our family.

I hear ya! But they did say they would bring it back...but no dates or plans.

FYI -- I just posted pics from the Art of Animation Resort in my July TR (see link in siggie or http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2920334&page=12)

I had taken the tour and learned some neat tidbits about the resort, plus got photos from Nemo, Cars and Lobby.

Check it out if interested and wanting to get even more excited about staying here!:goodvibes

For those not staying at AoA, there is a free tour (30 minutes) a few times a day, if you have some time to spare and are thinking about staying there in the future.

It is an incredible resort and made me even more excited to see the new Lion King and (upcoming) Little Mermaid sections. We usually stay DVC so I'm personally happy that we ran out of points for this next trip!:rotfl:

So excited that i found this thread!

My DBf and I will be going on January 10th til the 19th, staying off site. This is our first holiday abroad together and our first time to Disney. We can't wait.

I've been planning and preparing using this site for info, but still i messed up, lol. I really wanted to book Tusker House for breakfast on the 18th, but it's fully booked, so i'm checking every day hoping for a cancellation xx

Welcome! So exciting -- a first trip to Disney. My best advice is not to push too hard to see everything, use FastPath and enjoy the little things too!

I wouldn't be surprised if TH opens up closer to the date. Keep trying!

Our very first trip to WDW is all booked! We arrive 12/31. Staying at Contemporary. Our park days are 1/1-1/6. Can't wait!!

We just booked our first trip to Disney! Going 1/25/13-2/1/13, staying at AoA in a LK suite! So excited!!!!

I'm new to the site but wanted to share that my boyfriend and I are traveling to WDW in January 2013 as well, just a few days before my 21st birthday! It will be just the two of us and we are going to stay at the Animal Kingdom, along with another hotel we've yet to pick out. I've never been to WDW before, but my boyfriend has been plenty of times so he'll be able to show me around.
:yay:
I'm curious what the weather and crowds will be like this time of year though. Can anyone offer some insight?
And we'll be going for 3 weeks (with one day in Universal), how much of the park will we be able to see?

From your ticker it looks like you're going over the same week I am, MLK weekend. We've been going that same weekend for the past 15 years or so, maybe more?

Anyway, the temperature will usually get into the 70's during the day, but in the mornings and evenings it will be chilly. The name of the game is layers. I will usually have on jeans, a short sleeved shirt with either a hoodie or sweatshirt in the morning. When it warms up I loose the hoodie, but it comes right back on as soon as the sun starts going down. Rain, you might see a day of showers, but not like the summer with pop up showers.

Crowds, since it's a holiday weekend, it will be a little crowded on that Sat/Sun, a little less on Monday, and from there the crowds really drop quickly. You'll be able to walk on most rides come Tues. It's a great time to go!

Should I even worry about crowds on MLK weekend?

Will be at WDW 1/19 - 1/28 so we were going to spend most of our time MLK weekend at the resort and Downtown Disney except for mornings at the parks. But I'd prefer to be at the parks in the evenings on Sun and Mon of MLK weekend.

I don't mind crowds because we will do the most popular rides in the morning, back to the resort, then MK or HS in the evening. But I don't want to be stuck in wall to wall people on Main St. Hard to imagine it that crowded in January.

Thankyou for the welcome and the info :)

I hope it does open up, i'd like to do an early adr at one park, though i don't really mind which but since this park doesn't open very long it seems perfect. Also i'd really like to have a character dining experience with the fab 5...not too keen on princesses and "real" people if you know what i mean, lol xx

Looks like you're right! I would love to visit Disney every year, must be quite the treat! I've been to Disneyland twice so far, once with my father and another with my boyfriend and his family.

Thank you for all your help! I don't mind a bit of rain and the excessive crowds won't bother me much for the weekend. January seems like a wonderful time to go, even better now that I'll be 21 and can indulge in a few of their fancy drinks!
:)

You'll notice a significant drop come that Monday, and even more on the Tuesday, but it never stops us from going to the parks on that Sat/Sun. We do usually skip the parks on Sat night since it does seem to be the busiest. We will usually go to DTD, but this year we're going to be doing a fireworks cruise :cool1:
