14 days I can barely sleep

I hear ya!! 11 days for us. Today I start putting our clothes in ziplocs ... but will adjust as I get more firm weather reports.

Thankfully, we are driving so I can just add extras.:)

AAHHH we are beginning our 14 hour drive in an hour, and I'm still thinking of last minute things to add to the suitcase!

I now have friends reminding me how many days are left before we leave LOL. Happy New Year everyone!

For Dumbo, it is SOOOOOOOOO much more magical at night now, with all the lights and water. Definitely try to ride it at night at least once (and even in July it was a walk-on at night!!)

We are planning to do Belle and Ariel first, too. Then ride the Little Mermaid if the line is small, otherwise, we'll start the circuit with the other regular MK rides.

BOG lunch is the one that puts a kink in our plans....a 10;30am lunch is still prime riding time...

We're also heading to Enchanted Tales at rope drop to avoid the long wait times later in the day. Then Ariel and Under the Sea. Really struggled whether to go for an early lunch to BOG but decided not to and get more rides in for the kids. Plus, we'll have eaten at Chef Mickey's for breakfast that day prior to rope drop so don't think we'll be hungry at 10:30.

Our second MK day rope drop, we'll head over to Merida.

Sounds like a good plan!

DH surprised me with a longer stay AND we are now staying at my dream resort for the first time~~the Poly!! I am beyond excited......21 more days!! :wizard:

We are driving now (two states down, four to go) and we just got passed by a big black van with Disney world bumper stickers and Mickey ears stick figure bumper stickers - was it one of you? :P

24 more days :) Few questions if someone doesn't mind. Is there always a rope drop at MK and how do I find out what time rope drop is??? Same for the electric water parade? Is it every night? What time and can you see it from the GF? Thank you! Happy New Year All!

We will be there on saturday. 5- 10th, Staying at Bay Lake Tower for the first time with magic kingdom view. We decided to do the deluxe dining plan and will be taking our 3.5 year old to several signature restaurants including Narcoosee and Le Cellier. not too worried since it is Disney but anyone else have any experience with this? We've played it a little safer on past trips with him.

I believe that there is always a rope drop, it is at opening but you would want to get there maybe 30 minutes early I think. Water Parade should be listed on disney's website what time it is, not sure if it is always at the same time. You can see it from all the magic kingdom resorts, so yes GF too and the deck at narcoosee is a nice place to watch it. It is every night, I believe, weather permitting. Happy New Year to you too :)

Don't think I'll try to ride it (don't get on with spinny rides), but it sure looks pretty at night in the videos and I had forgotten I wanted to add that to my list, so thanks for the reminder! :thumbsup2

The rope drop show is a few minutes before opening, but my understanding is that means that people from offsite don't get to see it when there's EMH there. Although if you're staying at the Grand Floridian, that won't be an issue! :upsidedow I have also heard that it can be abbreviated on EMH days, dunno if that's a rumor or reality.

Should be every night, and generally hits the Grand Floridian about 9:15 I think. Check Steve Soare's site the week you're there for more current info (the water parade is down at the bottom of the MK page):

I believe the RD show at MK on EMH AMs is an abbreviated version...so don't expect the full show. My friends went in Dec and they said it was very short, no train, not all the characters, etc.

Maybe someone else can confirm...

The next 2 weeks better go by fast. I'm having a hard time keeping my mouth shut and not spoiling the surprise for the kids.

So excited we told the boys at Christmas, they are so excited and they are helping in the planning process. Since they both have been before they are for sure telling me what they want and what they don't want to do again. Looking at the touring plans I have created we are going to be able to slow down a little this trip. I hope we enjoy it this way! :cool1:

THANKS EVERYONE! HAPPY PLANNING:)

We're going to be staying at Pop from 1/18 to 1/21. I'm so excited!! :bitelip:

All I'm going to do is walk through New Fantasyland, and maybe get something at Gaston's if the lines aren't too awful. And middle daughter wants to meet Gaston -- he sounds like a hoot! Enchanted Tales with Belle is what most interests us, but nobody in my family cares enough to bother with the lines. We'll wait until the crowds die down, which hopefully they will, since a lot of people say it's a "one and done" sort of thing.

Scheduling tips I've heard -- Dumbo is no longer a priority, so kick that down the schedule considerable. If you want to do Enchanted Tales with Belle, hit that first thing! Then see Ariel if desired, then do the Little Mermaid ride (or Fastpass it). Get to Be Our Guest at 10:25 for lunch if they're still opening at 10:30, or expect a long wait; half hour to 45 minutes seemed to be average before the big Christmas rush, but we can hope it'll drop off considerable in January. ;)

I hope to try to do Dumbo at night, that does sound more magical. When we were there over Labor Day we only rode it during the daylight. We were lucky enough on that trip to get a sneek peak and do Enchanted Tales with Belle. I guess we will focus on meeting Ariel and doing the LIttle Mermaid ride. Are either of these available with FastPasses?

10:25 to wait for lunch at BOG, that is too early for us. I am hoping the lighter January crowds will ease that up a little.

I forgot meeting MErida in the mix.
