Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

At least for the past 9 years, you could always go from park-to-park.

What changed about 2 years ago is that buses to and from other parks started going directly to the MK. Before then, you had to transfer between bus & monorail at the TTC.

And, of course, there are no buses between MK & Epcot; transportation is via monorail.

There are no buses between DS or TL and any parks. Buses run between most parks and BB when the waterpark is open; MK is the exception.
....where have I been???!?!? I don't remember ever seeing a bus headed to another park when we've left another [park]......are those bus depots in a different location from the park-to-resort bus depots? I am really confused about this.....

At DHS, the park-to-park buses were moved to the charter bus lot when they ran out of room in resort bus loop, but they used to load in the resort bus loop.

At the other parks, the park-to-park buses are in the same location as the resort buses.[/QUOTE]

....how did I never notice the signs to go from park-to-park....I used to notice all the small details....man, I must be losing my touch....

Don't feel too badly! I completely forgot the DHS and AK buses had moved from the TTC to the MK bus stops....started walking to the monorail before I remembered. Glad I remembered before I got on the monorail!!

I'm trying to figure out the quickest way to get from Disney Springs to DHS using only Disney transportation. My husband and I are staying at POR in early June. Our kids' high school choir will be performing midday in the Marketplace (which we will reach via boat from POR), then we want to spend the rest of the day at DHS. Options--
1. Walk to SSR via walkway and take a bus to DHS (we are not DVC- are we allowed to catch a bus at SSR mid-afternoon? Also, how long does the walk from DS take?)
2. Take a bus to BW and walk or boat to DHS
3. Take boat back to POR and bus to DHS

Any input is greatly appreciated! --JP

....personally, I like both Option 2 or 3.....see which bus arrives first [bus to BW or bus to POR] and board that one....

Actually, I would be very tempted to take the bus to Pop or AoA, then bus to DHS.
1. Anyone can do this...the walk is about 15 mins, then wait for the bus, then ride to DHS...could take an hour.
2. Wait for bus, ride to BW. That could be up to 30 mins. The boat will take you about 15 mins to get to DHS (not adding wait time). The walk takes about 15 or so mins..depending on pace.
3. Boat will take about 15-20 mins, then wait for the bus, ride to DHS...again, figure on an hour.

The issue is going to be wait times for buses. There's just no way to tell how long you'll have to wait, either at DS or a resort. Can be no time at all or it could be over 15 mins.

This makes sense! We will figure it will take an hour regardless....and board the first resort bus available. Thanks-- this was exactly what I was wanting to know.

We are looking at booking in November. My hubby will attend a conference during our trip. Depending on dates, he's got two choices. The first is at the Yacht/Beach Club. We are planning on staying at a mod to take advantage of free dining, instead of staying on the conference rate at the Yacht/Beach Club. He'll need to travel from Coronado Springs to the Yacht/Beach Club each morning and be there no later than 8am (7:30 is the goal). Is that do-able via Disney transportation? We did this once before, but the conference was at the GF, so he could just take a bus to MK and the monorail to the GF, no problem. Getting to the Yacht/Beach Club that early in the morning seems a little trickier. The GF is the other conference choice this time, but I like the dates better for the conference at the Yacht/Beach Club.

On my AK day, I have a reservation for Sanaa at 5:20. AK closes at 6:00 that day. So I know I can take the bus to Animal Kingdom Villas from AK but how will I get back to our resort at CSR? I would think the buses to AK would be done for the day after we have eaten, so I was thinking how do I get back to the resort if the buses have stopped to AK.

He could catch the bus to Hollywood Studios and walk to the Beach Club. It's about a 20 minute walk. I'd be at the bus stop at 6:30 AM and if a bus hasn't come by 7AM, pay for a taxi.

Using Disney transportation, your best bet is probably to take a bus to Hollywood Studios and transfer to your resort's bus there.

Serious question- is there an app for this? I'm the unofficial/official planner for an 8 person trip on October that includes 3 kids and an adult who will likely be using a wheelchair at least part time and I'm overwhelmed by the idea of figuring out the logistics of getting from A to B.

Nope. There's a website, but it has a habit of taking you the long way around or suggesting connections that don't exist.

Generally speaking, if you're trying to go from resort to resort, you'll have to transfer at a park. If you're trying to go from Disney Springs to a park, you'll have to transfer at a resort. Otherwise, there are direct routes; buses, boats, or monorail.

Agree with this, but it's a little over a mile from the DHS bus depot to the Yacht/Beach Convention Center. He should tell the driver of the bus to DHS that he is trying to get to the YC. The driver likely will either offer to drop him off there, or contact the dispatcher to have another bus pick him up at DHS on the way to the YC; no guarantee, but that usually works when going to an Epcot resort that early in the morning.

There really isn't anything out there...what works today may very well not work in 3 months.
Getting around WDW is pretty easy..everything is very well marked. If you have a question, ask a bus driver. They will be your best source of info. Unless, of course, one of us are sitting or standing near you! I'm always giving other guests directions!!
And ask here. We love answering questions and tend to have very up to date info.

Sorry to be posting what I think is an easy question, but the Disney website isn't working for me right now :sad2:

I will be staying at ASSports. Two of the days, I need to get to Shades of Green to take the shuttle from there to Universal. I think the easiest way to do this is to take the Disney shuttle from ASSp to TTC, then take the SOG shuttle from TTC to SOG (unless it is a nice day, in which case I would walk). And then at night I would need to do the opposite: SOG shuttle from SOG to TTC, then Disney shuttle from TTC to ASSp. Does that sound correct?
