Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

Staying on property (All-star Music) for the very first time and trying to wrap my head around resort hopping.

My first day I want to hit the Kona Cafe and Beaches and Cream. I think I've got it figured out, but wanted some second opinions.

All-star Music to MK, via bus
MK to Polynesian, via monorail

Then...

Polynesian to MK, via monorail
MK to Beach club, via bus
(eat)
Beach Club to EPCOT, via bus
EPCOT back to All-star Music, via bus

Thoughts?

There isn't a bus from the beach club to Epcot - the only way to get there is to walk or take the boat to the international gateway. If you want to take the bus from Epcot to ASM you will have to walk through the park, which will require admission.

If you want to get from the Beach Club to ASM without actually entering a park, you should walk (or take the boat) to DHS and take the ASM bus from there.

If I want to tour the Fort Wilderness CampGround campsite Christmas decorations in the evening, and then watch MK Wishes on the FWCG beach afterwards...does FWCG have a bus that goes straight to DownTown Disney?

Or do I have to take a bus to WL and switch to a bus to DTD?
Or do I have to take a boat to MK, and sidewalk to CR, and then a bus to DTD as a last resort?

I will be using my own mobility scooter.

Thanks in advance.

Ray :)

There is a bus from FtW to DTD, but it loads at the Outpost (parking lot), and if you're at the beach, you'll be at the Settlement.

So you'll need to take the internal shuttle bus to the Outpost, and then wait for the DTD bus. The internal bus routes are designated by colors, but an Outpost bus of any color will get you to the same place, and they all take about the same time to get there.

The other options you listed will also work, but will probably take longer because those buses make an additional stop before going to DTD. The bus from the Outpost is non-stop, and the trip is also about 50% shorter than the others.

Hi, We have a Wild Africa Trek at 9:15am and have to get from Wilderness Lodge and not be late. Has anyone done this? What is the best way and what time do we have to get the bus in the morning? Thanks.

We are staying at AKL ..but want to go to POFQ for breakfast.

Bus to Epcot or DHS, then bus to POFQ?

Would it be quicker to go via AK?

Just use the AK bus from WL. Not sure where you are expected to be at 9:15 though...at the front gate, or inside the park itself?? I would be out at the AK bus stop by 8am. That should give you plenty of time.

That's not going to be easy, especially if you want to get there early in the day. If it's prior to 9am, I would take a cab. If it's after that, I would take the bus to AK, and then transfer to the POFQ bus.

Thanks! We have to be behind Tusker House at the Dawa bar by 9:15am. The person I spoke to while reserving it said to give an hour for the ride from Wilderness Lodge to Animal Kingdom and 45 minutes to get from Animal Kingdom gate to the Dawa Bar. I don't know exactly where the spot we meet is, though.
Does this seem like an excessive amount of time? That puts us at the bus stop at 7:30am. It's a EMH morning for AK. Will the busses be going there earlier than that? Maybe we could catch breakfast if so. :scratchin

Sorry, I haven't gotten the exact hang of this forum thing.

Honestly, I don't think it would take you 45 minutes to get from Animal Kingdom gate to the Dawa Bar if you rode on the back of a snail. Leaving your resort at 8:00 will give you plenty of time.

Buses start running at 6:30 every day.

I think Epcot would be your best option. I assume you're just going to the food court for beignets, so an hour should be enough time. If you get there a few minutes later ... no big deal.

We are staying at Poly for our December trip. On the first night we have an ADR at Flying Fish. I know that normally we could take a bus from BW to MK and then monorail to Poly. My concern/question is that is also a MVMCP night. Will there even be a demand for buses to MK at 8pm on a party night. Or will the buses run regardless. Another option would be to walk to DHS and then bus to Poly (it will be EMH at DHS). What would be our best option?
Buses will run regardless. Bus is the default form of transportation :).

If you're only interested in the beignets, they serve those all day long. I would go after spending the day in a park, then take the boat to DTD and maybe spend some time over there before getting on a bus back to AKL.

Beignets are, essentially, doughnuts. They just seem to make a good breakfast.

Plus, they're only good when they're fresh from the fryer, and at WDW you have the best chance if getting them that way during breakfast time.

Anyhow, the OP never mentioned beignets. I just made the leap that going to POFQ for breakfast probably included beignets in the plan.

Guilty as charged on the beignets being the sole reason.

They always serve them fresh from the fryer; they don't make them until they're ordered.

I've gotten hard, chewy ones that had been under a warming lamp ... but that was a number of years ago. If they've discontinued that practice, then that's good news.:cool1:

I'm looking at how to get back to AoA from The Wave around 9-10 pm, when MK is closed? Go mono to Epcot then Bus to AoA? In general how long after the parks close to buses to resorts run??
Thanks
