Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

Can anyone tell me what time we would need to be at the bus stop at Port Orleans Riveside to make it to an 8 AM ressie at Epcot and AK. Is any stop at POR better than another to get on the bus. We are 5 with a stroller. Also, what time should we leave AK to go to Mickey's BBQ? I assume we just take a bus from AK to FT. Wilderness? Thanks
I don't think it really matters...just choose the one closest to your room. At such an early time of morning, it shouldn't be a huge deal with the stroller. I would be out at the bus stop by 6:45 each morning for an 8am ADR. These buses don't run quite as frequently as the regular buses do. So, better safe than sorry.
When leaving AK for the BBQ, I would leave about an hour prior...gives you plenty of time to make it.

Family of seven staying at Port Orleans French Quarter. We have one vehicle available to us which we could all squeeze into but we prefer to take the water taxi if possible.

Thanks!
The water taxi at POFQ will take you to DTD. From there you can transfer to a bus to BW...but it will be time consuming. Or you can take the bus, from POFQ, to DHS and take the boat from there to BW. Or, you can just walk via the sidewalk that runs along the canal. I would leave at least 75 mins to do it. If time is of the essence, then take the car. It will be much faster...only about 15 mins.

How to get from Hollywood Studios to Downtown Disney? what resort bus should i take? please give me one BEST answer.

& If I'm leaving for Magic Kingdom early in the morning from my resort, what time should I be ready at the bus stop if its opening time for that day is 9am?

From DHS to DTD, I would head to BW. I would actually walk there....takes about 15 mins. Or, take the bus to Pop and transfer there. There is no one best answer...too many variables.

To get to MK for 9am park opening, the largest crowds at the bus stops will be from 8:20ish on. To avoid the larger crowds, you may want to be out at the bus stop by 8:10.

Walk over to the CR from MK to get to DTD. The sidewalk runs beneath the monorail line..to your left as you exit the park. Takes about 8 mins to get there. Walking is almost always faster than taking the monorail over.

Hi I tried to search through here to find the answer and I couldn't, so forgive me if this has been asked already or maybe even let me know if there is a post with travel times, thank you.

My question is: How long of a bus ride is it from the Poly to Hollywood Studios and back again. Looking to plan that day and I need to know travel times. Thanks so much!

The actual ride time isn't much, about 15 minutes, but you should allow at least 45 minutes to an hour.

We will be staying off-site for three days (Sea World & Universal) and then driving over to the Poly for the duration of our stay. I want to return my National rental car after check in as we really won't need it anymore. I'm thinking the Car Care Center would be the most convenient on-site location. HOWEVER, I'm not sure how I get back to the Poly from the Car Care Center.

Any ideas/suggestions?

You can call them the day before you want to return the car....then they can provide a shuttle ride for you..to anyplace you want to go. Just be sure to put down the CCC as your return spot when reserving.

We are staying across from DTD. Our hotel has shuttles to the 4 parks, but I'm waiting on details as to how often and what time they stop/start.

What time do the DTD/Resort buses start and stop? I have a feeling they don't start too early so I may have to rely on our hotel shuttle to get to the parks.

They really don't start running until the shops at DTD open, so not until 9:30ish. And even then, it's not all that consistent. It's never a good idea to use the buses from DTD to get anywhere..at least, not if you want to get to your destination efficiently.
If you want to get to the parks, this is how it's going to work. Walk over to the Marketplace...wait for a bus (could be 5 mins, but more likely to be closer to 25 mins, if not longer). Go to the resort, wait for the park bus you want to arrive (could be 5, could be 15 mins). It will take you about an hour, at best. And that won't get you to a park for park opening..you'll miss that by about 90 mins.

That's really one of the perks you are paying for when you stay onsite at WDW..you get frequent transportation to the parks, from your resort.

Thanks. The resort bus will start before park opening. If I want to stay for a late dinner reservation, I'll just take the DTD bus back and walk across the street to our hotel.

Sorry if this has been asked before but do you take a boat from MK to Wilderness Lodge and if so about how long do you plan for. If that's not the way to go, what is? TIA!

I will be staying at the Art of Animation resort, what time do the buses start to run in order to make a 7 am reservation at the animal kingdom tusker house breakfast? what bus do you take?

You'll find that the bus load zones outside Animation Hall have signs marking a separate queue for each park. The load zone for Animal Kingdom will be the 2nd from the front, or the 2nd furthest from the lobby entrance.

I'm not sure exactly when the first bus leaves, but Disney officially recommends being at the load zone 1 hour before your breakfast reservation.

Not sure you'll make it using the bus system. Yes, the buses start running by 6:30, to the parks. But, if you manage to get on that first bus, you will be at AK by around 6:45-6:50. Then you have to get into the park and then walk to the restaurant..not a quick walk. That whole deal will take you at least 15+ mins!! And you are supposed to be at the restaurant, checking in at the podium, a few minutes prior to your ADR.
Is there any possibility of changing the ADR to around 7:30ish??

Are there different stops on the boat ride from POFQ to DTD? Specifically, we're dining at Fulton's one day and Raglan Road on another day.

Thanks! :goodvibes

I don't believe so. The last time I used the boat to POR, you got dropped at the Marketplace dock.

The boats from PO always go to the Marketplace dock, but you can transfer there to the Water Taxi shuttle boat for a ride to the Pleasure Island dock.

I think the walk from the MP dock to Raglan Road is less than 10 minutes, though.
