Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

we are staying at the all star movies resort. I know that the bus will take us to magic kingdom and the other parks, will it take us from the park to our resort and where do we go at the parks to go back to our resorts, will the bus be labeled?

Each resort has it's own clearly labeled bus stop at the parks. It will be easy to find.

At each of the 4 parks, the load zones are numbered. As you enter the bus depot area after exiting the park, there will be a sign or signs listing the resorts and which load zone serves each resort. The load zones may change depending upon the time of day (the signs will be updated), and you will normally board at a different load zone than the one at which you were dropped off. There is also a sign at each load zone telling you which resorts board there, and the destination is usually displayed on the bus's marquee as well.

Buses from the parks continue to run until the last Guest has left the park. If you're among the last Guests out of a park, cast members will direct you to your bus.

If you're boarding a bus at DTD or the water parks, there are not enough load zones for all of the resorts, so load zones are shared by different buses. At these locations, be sure to check the marquee on the bus itself or ask the driver.

Transportation is also available between all theme parks. If you'll be travelling between 2 resorts, you'll usually need to transfer between 2 buses or a bus and another form of transportation at a park or DTD; always ask a bus driver, as resort cast occassionally give out incorrect info on transportation.

Enjoy your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!:goodvibes

I'm hoping you transportation experts can help me.

We are staying at POFQ this September. Saturday morning we have Chef Mickey ADR at 8:10. Magic Kingdom opens at 9.

will the buses from POFQ to MK be running that early or should we just plan on calling a cab?

Buses start running at 6:30 every morning. I would be at the bus stop by 7:00. Or, if you want to sleep an extra 30 minutes, you can pay about $20 for a cab.

Thanks so much! I didn't realize the buses ran so early!

We are leaving in 10 days and want to know if my wife and kids get on the bus and I go to get our luggage (don't want to wait until 10pm to get it) can I just get on the next bus if I miss the one my family is on?

You're not assigned to any specific bus.

Morning you fantastic people. Im at buena vista palace and would like to get to ak for ropedrop today. Is it better to get the hotel bus to epcot or hs? The direct bus stops at mk before ak! Or is dtd to akl a quicker option? Thanks c

If you go to the TTC (MK parking area) there will be a direct bus to AK from there. That is probably the best idea. A bus to either Epcot or DHS will work but going to TTC is probably the best idea. A bus to AKL from DTD isn't going to work because the resort buses don't really start running back to the resorts until past rope drop time at the parks.

Thank you so much, I appear to have left my brain in mk late last night and nothing makes much sense this morning!

No problem!!d That was my issue this time last week...brain was just mush after a few days in the parks!! Have fun.

I need to get to AK from WS in EPCOT. I could go to int'l gateway. Which resort is closest and where is the bus stop?

Beach Club is closest. You're basically going to be approaching BC from the back side, so you need to enter the main building and then go through to the front to get to the bus stop.

Take an early bus. For an 8:15 adr, I would be out at the MK bus stop by 7ish...these early buses come a bit less frequently than regular buses, so if you just miss one, you may have to wait more than 20+ mins for the next one. As long as you're on a bus by 7:30, you should be fine.

Thanks so much. I wasn't sure how early the buses ran.

If I want to go from MK to DTD, do I need to go to one of the MK resorts to catch a bus, or is there one directly to DTD from MK? I am just drawing a blank today.

Need to head to a MK area resort to catch a DTD bus. I would just walk across to the Contemporary bus stop.

Hi! We are staying at VWL in Sept and was wondering how late the flag boats operated. We are going to be at Fort Wilderness for the campfire sing along and needed to get the boat back afterwards.

Thanks!

Hi. I am staying at POR in December and would like to go to dinner at Cape May at the Beach Club. What is the best way to go from POR to Beach Club using Disney transportation?

I was thinking I would take a bus to Epcot then walk through the International Gateway to Beach Club. How long do you think this would take? How far of a walk is it from the entrance of Epcot to the Beach Club?

Would it be better to go to DTD and then get a bus to Beach Club?

What is the fastest way?

Thanks.

The best way is to take the bus to DHS and then walk (20 minutes) or take the boat (30ish minutes) to the beach club.

You can go through Epcot, but you'll have to have a valid admission to Epcot to walk through it. Time-wise, it will take about 20 minutes or so.
