Official "Heroes" discussion thread - Caution: Speculation and Potential Spoilers

Awesome episode last night!! By far the best episode of the year so far! I loved Hiro and Ando's reunion too!

I did figure out the Kensai/Adam Monroe thing though but it occurred to me early on in this episode (maybe when Peter was questioning who he was). But it was cool to see his reappearance with Peter. I'm wondering though since Adam/Kensai has the same powers as Claire, are they related somehow?

I agree about last nights being the best this year. it was lacking something this year and I guess it was everyone being off every where.
So glad Hiro is back and Peter remembered. worst storylines on there. Hiro belongs with Ando, they r so funny together. actually no the brother and sister were the worst storylines.

I thought last night's show was the best this season.
I love that Hiro is finally home!!!

I can't wait until next week

I'm wondering though since Adam/Kensai has the same powers as Claire, are they related somehow?

I wonder... Adam (since he is apparently immortal) could possibly be Claire's grandpa, and Nathan and Peter's father. That would put a twist on things! I knew when Hiro blew him up that he wasn't gone, but I wasn't expecting him to turn up where he did. I felt bad for Peter when he returned to the present without Caitlin, I hope he's able to regain control over his powers and find her. However, since he doesn't remember much it seems to me that Adam is going to retrain him and use Peter's powers for his own agenda, whatever that might be.

I like how we've been introduced to this season's major world-destroying event (the virus plague) that the Heroes have to avoid, just like last season's bomb. They sure took their time about it this time around though, didn't they?

Can't wait to find out what happened in the missing four months! Hopefully that will fill in a lot of the blanks, but of course it will raise a whole new set of questions.

Quick question: when Peter was in the future, he was told that the first occurrance of the Shanti virus was in March of 2007 -- I didn't get the exact date. Does anyone know who that would have been? Was Molly the first we saw with the virus? I'm pretty sure Mohinder's sister died in childhood, and the mutated strain wasn't released until Niki/Jessica injected herself last night... so who started the plague?

I just read Kevin Smith's myspace blog and he said that Heroes: Origins may be placed on hiatus until the writer's strike is over. Or it may not happen at all now. Has anyone else heard anything about this?

Funniest thing last night was when the Universal Goes Green/Heroes commercial was on showing Sylar and Micah planting a tree. The tree wasn't planted in the ground, but in a pot and Micah watered it with bottled water. How exactly does that help to curb the effects of global warming?

So what happens to Kensei's stories now that Hiro changed them? Will the original stories remain legend since White Beard was destroyed or will they have changed since Kensei didn't marry his princess?

Pretty cool idea about Adam being Claire's grandfather.

I was glad that Matt was able to conquer/destroy his father. Thought it was great when he was able to open the door to get himself and gosh, what the heck is the little girl's name? I'm drawing a complete blank.

I think this is my first post on this thread since season 2 started, so I have to catch up with what's been said on here lately. Just wanted to share a few thoughts (and fair warning, those thoughts may involve spoilers from the 11/5 episode for anyone that hasn't seen it yet) -- Greetings oh great leader of the thread!

Overall, season 2 is living up to season 1's quality. After tonight's episode, if things keep shaping up it may surpass it. I think I read once that Tim Kring wasn't a big comic book fan, but I wouldn't have guessed it. Of course, Jeph Loeb, one of the co-exec producers, is a comic book writer, so his influence is definitely there.

I was soooooo glad to see Peter survived! My guess is Claire's abilities he absorbed helped with his recovery. I'm going out on a limb and guess that Matt's dad caused Peter's amnesia. I just hope he's able to get back to Caitlin. No, not Matts dad. Notice a certain necklace that Peter has been wearing? It will be answered next week.

The Company -- I keep going back and forth on them. Okay, so last year Linderman was rogue? I was under the impression he was in charge and calling the shots while Nakamura Sr. was the rebel. Bob said Linderman was under Adam, his flunky as was Maury. Now, I don't think they're evil, but I'm not convinced they're completely good either. Definitely a lot of shades of grey involving The Company.Yeah, cause I am still guessing on Bob. Still not sure about him and if the one power we have seen is his only one. A bit shifty, but aren't all of the 12?

Claire/HRG -- Nice try, Noah, establishing a "secret identity" in the midst of suburbia. Unfortunately, I think it would be difficult for a secret identity to be maintained in today's information age. Also, Claire's mom mentioned West's name. I wonder if Noah will recognize it. "West" as a first name isn't common, and if he connects that with the news report of a flying man (assuming he knows what West can do) he's bound to know who he is. But so many lives he has touched and tagged and his toughts are to get a move out of there now!

Kensei/Adam --  In a way I had a feeling we'd be seeing him again. Seeing that he was one of the original 12 and still alive and kicking after almost 340 years, though .. I wasn't expecting that. (quick thought: if his abilities are like Claire's, does this mean that she's potentially immortal also?) www.9thwonder.com/boards and the adam discussions:eek: Still, that's what I love about this show -- how all these plotlines that seem to go in several direction actually end up coming together. Now, I just wonder how they will fit in ....

Maya and Alejandro -- Yeah, they're on their way to New York with Sylar to find Suresh, but how will they eventually fit into the main plot? Sylar wants both there poswers, but who know how long they will live? Or at least Alejandro Will Adam find a way to make Maya's power make the plague even worse? No cause Bob started the Plauge by mutating Shati's virus (my speculation)
One more thought and I'm done. I wonder if Adam's name is some clue that he was the first to gain superpowers. If so, and if having powers is genetic, does that mean that all that have powers are somehow descended from him?
Or it may have been his name in England. He is good at chosing them "Sword Saint"?!

Ok my question for tonight's show, did Mama Petrelli make Peter remember? No, I think she is the first he has seen from the past and known the logest, so she helped open the door a bit.

Is that her power?

Awesome episode last night!! By far the best episode of the year so far! I loved Hiro and Ando's reunion too!

If Adamhas lived over 400 years, yeah maybe he could have. Don't think he is Peterilliu, cause she knows him and they are both suppose to be in the picture?!

I wonder... Adam (since he is apparently immortal) could possibly be Claire's grandpa, and Nathan and Peter's father. That would put a twist on things! However, since he doesn't remember much it seems to me that Adam is going to retrain him and use Peter's powers for his own agenda, whatever that might be. Yeah Idid wonder howthe charcol body would recover and how that would freak Whitebeards people out!

I like how we've been introduced to this season's major world-destroying event (the virus plague) that the Heroes have to avoid, just like last season's bomb. They sure took their time about it this time around though, didn't they? Truely as we only have 4 more episodes until the break or finale due to the writers strike. But I think some will carry over as all the threads can't be finished that fast.

Can't wait to find out what happened in the missing four months! Hopefully that will fill in a lot of the blanks, but of course it will raise a whole new set of questions.

Good question! It was ready before Niki though as Mohinder was suppose to use it on Monica!

Another thought just occurred to me -- I would love to see Hiro connect with Adam/Kensei again. Can you just imagine how surprised they both would be? "Hey, didn't I see you... 400 years ago?"

I wasn't crazy about the whole "Hiro in the past" storyline, but I do like how we're seeing his slow transformation into Future Hiro that we saw back on the subway with Peter in Season 1. He's wearing his glasses less, and he's becoming more serious and losing some of his childish joy due to all the changes he's gone through (losing faith in his childhood hero and losing his dad). I especially liked the contrast when he returned to the present and was so happy to see Ando, and then immediately changed when he heard of his dad. Very well done.

I'm sure we will see this happen.

Tim Kring admits mistakes were made at the beginning of season 2, but promises to get back on track

Origins info

Heroes: Origins Cancelled?
The highly-anticipated Heroes anthology spin-off may not be happening after all, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The six-episode series, which was to feature episodes by Kevin Smith and Eli Roth, has been pulled from the schedule - perhaps a reaction to the potential writers' strike, but also perhaps due to Heroes' diminished ratings in the second season.

It is said that NBC has not officially cancelled the spin-off but no word has been made on when or if it will actually surface.

So... what does everyone think of last night's episode? I loved it!True to Heroes form, the episode raised just as many new questions as it answered but it really did seem to tie a lot of the storylines together.

That Elle sure is a weird one. I loved the suspense about how DL was going to die. I thought for sure it would be in the fire, but didn't see that crazy nightclub guy coming! I liked that Nikki developed yet another personality and would have liked to have seen more of that - I have a feeling we haven't seen the end of her. Gina, was it? Finally we see why the Wonder Twins are always on the run - wow! Their story is slightly more interesting to me now.

I'm still not sure what to make of Adam/Kensei. Can't wait to see him meet up with Hiro again! I wonder if Sylar was given some of the same pills that Niki and Peter were given, and if so, how long until they wear off and his powers return? Or was he given the virus, and maybe he is the one who will cause it to spread?

Glad we finally have some ofthe answers. I wish they had just started there instead of jumping ahead first. Missed Hiro and Claire last night. Just way too many stories to cover all the storilines in one episode.

i agree about them starting there. I think the season would have been better, The next 3 look really good.

Wow, wow, wow!!! Tonight's episode was amazing. I actually screamed out, "Noooooo!!" when Mohinder did what he did to HRG. And then the last scene- awesome!! And, did anyone notice that HRG said the same thing Claire did when she came to on the autopsy table? "Holy..."

Oh my lord that was good television! I'm depressed that we only have 2 more episodes.

Not too surprised that Hiro went back to try and save his father. Also not too surprised that his father refused to let him change time and sacrificed himself. The way it was done was very well done, though.

LOVED the ending!! HRG's reaction mirrored when Claire woke up on the coroner's table -- like daughter, like father. :teeth: Hey, they couldn't kill off HRG. He's one of the best characters on the show and he's one of the only ones without any powers.

OOH!! Upcoming cat fight!! I'll bet 50 on Claire. Yeah, Elle may be ruthless and trained to fight, but how many times can she knock down someone that won't stay knocked down before she gets knocked down herself?

And another potential fight in the making -- between Hiro and Peter. Could be pretty evenly matched, since Peter has several abilities but Hiro has more control over the ability he does have plus the swordfighting skills.
