Official "Heroes" discussion thread - Caution: Speculation and Potential Spoilers

Right, but she wasn't one of the "main" heroes, I thought. From the beginning, I thought she was expendable. I thought when they said that a hero would be lost, they meant one of the major heroes. I suppose it's up to interpretation :confused3

Oh, and the painting that Isaac did of Hiro and the dinosaur/Godzilla/whatever...I'm also thinking that it might be a metaphor? Hiro won't really go back in time and battle a dinosaur, but it could signify a battle with another monster of some sort?

This looks like where he might get his Katana, esp. by him saying he needed to find his sword! (I think know, I think know but I will be good and not tell! at least not yet!! )

I think this is another case of Hiro going back further then he was trying to go. Way way further back. Of course, just speculation.

Also I found it interesting that DL, Nikki, and Micah were in Peter's vision...he's never met them. or am I forgetting something?

If he's having a vision of all the Heroes, wouldn't there be more then just the one's we know about :confused3 :confused3

I was wondering that too. He saw Matt in his uniform also, and Isaac without his beard. And he hadn't seen either of those that I know of. As to what he became at the end, there is Isaac's picture that Bennett has. :artist:

Did you guys all get the "What if I step on a bug?" line from Hiro? It's a reference to the Ray Bradbury story, "A Sound of Thunder" about a guy that travels on a time machine to the prehistoric past...to kill a T-Rex. :teeth:

You can find the plot of the story right here , but don't read if you don't want spoilers to the book. And just to add more credence to that...there is an election that figures heavily in that book, as well.

Ok, so before this episode we were wondering if Hiro lost his power. Did he use it this episode? I don't remember him using it. He took the bus back to the cafe last episode, so are his powers back?

I guess so! LOL I take the word hero in that show, as anyone that has powers. :teeth:

Or as Hiro said to Ando, "you don't have to have powers to be a Hero"!

I remember that...story....he came back and everything was different because he squished the bug!

That is what I was thinking. He is probably in the same holding cell as radioactive man, and unlike any of the others, his powers came off is body, by touch. So Peter is probably absorbing the powers from the room, but it looks like it is killing him.

Sorry I am such a spoil sport but Ted was in Calf. with Matt and Audrey. Peter is in Odessa, Tx. with Claire.

I wonder if Peter didn't heal all the way, like a punctured lung or something.

Sorry if I am repeating myself. Feel free to stop me!!

I wonder if Peter is completely healed. I mean, was he around Claire long enough after the fall? Maybe he has internal injuries that didn't heal before she ran and was out of range. Yes, I know, she visited him in his cell. But HRG was right outside, so maybe he does have the ability to block someone's powers, blocked both of theirs, and Peter wasn't able to finish healing with Claire around. And did we see the Haitian around when HRG met with Sylar? He was with Claire when Eden confronted him.

I'm leaning toward HRG being able to block other's abilities.

And does anyone else think Claire has a crush on Peter?

No telling what the Haitian is up to. Does he have his own agenda for not making Claire forget? Or is he working with someone else like maybe HRG's bosses .. OOH, maybe Linderman! We still don't know what's up with him.

Eric, thank you for saying "mimic"! That's who Peter's abilities remind me of .. Mimic, a (very) minor character from X-Men who had the ability to mimic the powers of other mutants. That had been bugging me.

I missed who said it, but maybe the dinosaur Hiro faces is either an illusion created by another hero, or a shapeshifter.

Katlas&kids, where do you think he gets the sword? PM me if you'd like.

Awesome episode!

Hiro: I'm assuming he doesn't actually battle a dinosaur. I think he finally gets his sword from a museum where there will be a dinosaur display.

Claire's Dad: Perhaps he is the power blocker. Afterall, Haitian dude was nowhere to be seen when Dad went in to question Sylar the first time. He even said to Eden "I got this.." when she tried to go in with him.

Peter: I don't think radiation poisoning presents itself like the flu, but I could be wrong. If he absorbed the other guys power through the wall it wouldn't make him sick (radioactive man wasn't sick). So why is he sick????? Also, future Hiro mentioned a scar Peter winds up with. Peter has no scar yet so I think we can assume he survives.

I would almost be willing to bet...NO, I can't even say it out loud, because if it's true I will scream!!! I've been working on a book for MANY years, and there is a scene in it that plays out quite a bit like the dream sequence in NY with Peter and the gang. If Peter does what the character in my book does then not only will I be super peeved, but I'll also wonder if I can predict the future or someone has been raiding my computer for ideas...

Hiro: That is a good guess by all! And how cool would it be to see him play that off!

Bennett: No cause he told Sylar that his powers wouldn't work in that room. Though I wonder if it was because he was weak due to loss of blood and all or the Haitian. And why didn't the Haitiian get him while he was down? Why patch him up if they were going to "take him apart" as Bennett said? And did Eden turn something "off" while she was there, or had "evil grown" enough for him to reach out and pull her physically through the glass by waving his hand/arm at her? popcorn::

i'm telling you guys...there is no travelling back to the age of dinosaurs! Hiro will probably get his sword from a museum or something that has a big T-rex display (though the thing looked like the carnotaurus from the Dinosaur ride at AK!). Heheheee...we'll see!

I wonder if Mr. Bennet is like the character "Leech" in Marvel Comics (for those who saw X-Men 3, the same powers the little bald kid had). Just because the Haitian dude was at the police station doesn't mean that it was HIM who was blocking Matt. I think he was there looking out for Claire!

So it would also seem that Peter can dream the future. Didn't he dream that he was flying once? And he also dreamed about Nathan's accident before it happened. So now is he dreaming about NY? Funny that Hiro, Micah, Nikki and DL were in the dream since he hasn't even met them yet.

My particular theory about what he saw happening to himself in the dream? Well much like in my book (sigh...I guess I'll be scrapping THAT chapter...) I think Peter absorbs the powers of all of the "heroes" and uses them to stop the nuclear explosion (likely mid-explosion) caused by Ted (though I bet it will actually be Sylar who explodes after he kills Ted and steals his power). I can already see the whole scene playing out (mostly because it's been playing out in my head for about 7 years!)

Not at this point, but I believe he will become more powerful than Sylar once he develops the ability to hold onto the powers that he absorbs. :thumbsup2

I don't know about that. Sylar has killed other Heroes that we don't know about. It could be a different kind of power. Didn't the glass shatter when he reached through it?

It looked like he just waved his arm toward her, grabbed her and yanked her through the glass. He wasn't surprised he did it, but he was surprised that she took the gun to herself and he couldn't stop her!

DL can "phase" through things. Part of him is whole and the other part not. Like his arm in the door. It was phased to go through, the hand solid when he turned the lock, but the arm part still in the door phased.

Sylar didn't physically touch her until he reached up and grabbed her chin.

I also thought that peter wasn't finished heeling. I hadn't thought about the possibility of the haitian or powerblocker being around so he couldn't use Claire's power to finish healing. I like that theory! :thumbsup2

I think Eden went to kill Sylar with out HRG's permission. Remember how she asked him if she should do it, and he kinda blew her off? So I don't think he wanted Eden to go to Sylar, and definitely didn't want her to get killed.
Hmm, I'll have to go back and re-watch that part. I took his silence as an OK. Still, wouldn't he have been a little more forceful about saying no if he realized she was in danger? So did he not realize it, or not care?

Oh, and what does HRG stand for? I'm not getting that one. :teeth:

Obi-Wan -- yes, I also thought Claire was digging Peter last night. :thumbsup2

Well I have a theory. There is a character that we know about and have not yet met. Linderman. He seems to be involved in the lives of many of our characters.

By the way guys, have you been on the NBC Heroes Forums? The people over there are so unfriendly. A newbie will post a theory, and they will jump all over them, telling them its implausible due to some priciple that Sir Isaac Newton discovered, or they'll yell at a newbie for discussing something they discussed 2 weeks ago.

My point is I like you guys much better :sunny:

Yeah some of the ummm... forums are way out there. try 9th wonders. If you avoid the time travel ones, it is pretty decent! But watch out. Very addicting!!

And we are glad you are here too!

I am so bugged about Bennett. What is he up to?

He had to have known that Eden wouldn't be safe with Sylar without him (or the Haitian) there to block Sylar's powers. Did he want Sylar to kill Eden and get her power?

He couldn't have known she'd shoot herself over letting him kill her. And even if he did, why did he want her to die?

Eden took it on herself to face Sylar. She thought she was safe and in case not, gave Isaac they key to get out. She was probably told that Sylar's powers wouldn't work in the "cage" as Bennett told Sylar.

Also she was trying to help Mohinder and take revenge on Chandra's death. I feel for Mohinder cause I thought they were going somewhere there.

Sylar also wanted her power of persusian, and also found out that she did have the power and wasn't just Chandra's neighbor, like he thought. He probably knew her from when he worked/cheated Chandra.

which also shows he is following a plan and can't detect powers in supers, just goes by what he remembered of the map, the program and what he sees & hears on the news.

Yea, I get why she thought she'd be safe. I still don't get why Bennett didn't try to prevent her from going to Sylar, because I think he had to have known she wouldn't be safe.

Eden definitely went to Sylar without HRG's permission. She knew she was going to leave the whole situation after he disagreed with her about killing Sylar. HRG would never have implicitly or other wise implied that it was o.k. for her to face Sylar alone. Eden was to useful to him. He will be hurt that she is dead. Eden went maverick.
