Official "Heroes" discussion thread - Caution: Speculation and Potential Spoilers

I want to know why Peter was sick!!

It probably has something to do with why he blows up. Him getting sick is the start of whatever it is.

My thoughts...

Going back to "a hero will be lost" - now I'm thinking they didn't mean that someone would die. When the Haitian grabbed Claire, I thought that whatever he or the father or both plan to do - wipe her memory, whatever - she'll be "lost" to the other heroes. Still alive, but possibly nowhere to be found? Or not knowing what she can do?

I like the theory that Peter just can't be around all of those powers at once. I don't think he'll die - Future Hiro said, "I didn't recognize you without your scar." So they haven't met in the present, right? They've only spoken on the phone? Peter only met Ando in Texas because Hiro had gone back to save Charlie. Okay, so maybe the "scar" in question is a burn scar?

And while I'm still crushing on Mohinder - wow, Isaac is pretty hot, too, when he cleans up. Yowza

I don't know how I'm going to wait 7 weeks to find out. Torture, I tell you.

I admit I screamed at the TV "NO EDEN!!!" when Sylar pulled her through the glass. I really, really liked the character and how she seemed to stradle the line of good vs evil. It made for a wonderful idea of if one should trust her or not.

Pretty sure it is just Haitian guy that has the power to block the use of other powers and wipe the mind. HRG did not seem to be at the bar when Matt loss his day and HRG never seems to go anywhere without Haitian guy. Otherwise, why drag him along to the police questioning of Claire if HRG could just do it himself? And remember, Haitian guy was with Claire when Eden was killed and Sylar could use his powers again.

The whole Peter thing kinda just frustrates me and I don't enjoy being frustrated! I mean, I understand he is able to use the powers of those around him, but now what the heck is going on?? I do not think he is the one to distroy New York... I think after the last episode that that would be too easy for them to do (they need another twist after all... the whole show is based on twists!).

I was so happy to see Issac paint and sketch without the drugs. I laughed when Hiro showed him how to concentrate! What a memorable scene! Cool how he drew Charlie... but what is up with the new painting? Was also funny when Hiro was like "oh no. What if I step on a bug and change the future?". I love how this show can be serious and funny at the same time. It allows for a good show about the subject matter, a subject that could easily become a joke.

Eden died, for sure. Peter is not breathing, but he is not dead.

Right, but she wasn't one of the "main" heroes, I thought. From the beginning, I thought she was expendable. I thought when they said that a hero would be lost, they meant one of the major heroes. I suppose it's up to interpretation :confused3

Oh, and the painting that Isaac did of Hiro and the dinosaur/Godzilla/whatever...I'm also thinking that it might be a metaphor? Hiro won't really go back in time and battle a dinosaur, but it could signify a battle with another monster of some sort?

I think this is another case of Hiro going back further then he was trying to go. Way way further back. Of course, just speculation.

Also I found it interesting that DL, Nikki, and Micah were in Peter's vision...he's never met them. or am I forgetting something?

If he's having a vision of all the Heroes, wouldn't there be more then just the one's we know about :confused3 :confused3

I guess so! LOL I take the word hero in that show, as anyone that has powers. :teeth:

I had a couple thoughts about the dinosaur. My first thought was he went back in time, but that's a little to "hokey" for such a smart show. I then did think it was some sort of metaphor - Sylar is a huge monster with all his powers. But, again... so far, this show doesn't pull any of those type of things. It's pretty straight forward... once they reveal. Sort of like when Peter was painted "dead" in front of the steps at the highschool.

So, here's my theory... it's not a "real" dinosaur. Sometime in the future, Hiro is going to wind up in some sort of museum. He's not fighting the dinosaur, just looking for someone (Sylar?) in the museum and he happens to be standing in front of a dinosaur.

No, on to Peter. I can't seem to remember... was he ever around radioactive man? I notices he was caughing and pale (sick) and was getting worse in the police station. Wasn't radioactive man being held there for questioning in the last episode? I think Peter is absorbing his power.

That is what I was thinking. He is probably in the same holding cell as radioactive man, and unlike any of the others, his powers came off is body, by touch. So Peter is probably absorbing the powers from the room, but it looks like it is killing him.

I like the way you think! :thumbsup2

Awesome episode!

Hiro: I'm assuming he doesn't actually battle a dinosaur. I think he finally gets his sword from a museum where there will be a dinosaur display.

Claire's Dad: Perhaps he is the power blocker. Afterall, Haitian dude was nowhere to be seen when Dad went in to question Sylar the first time. He even said to Eden "I got this.." when she tried to go in with him.

Peter: I don't think radiation poisoning presents itself like the flu, but I could be wrong. If he absorbed the other guys power through the wall it wouldn't make him sick (radioactive man wasn't sick). So why is he sick????? Also, future Hiro mentioned a scar Peter winds up with. Peter has no scar yet so I think we can assume he survives.

I would almost be willing to bet...NO, I can't even say it out loud, because if it's true I will scream!!! I've been working on a book for MANY years, and there is a scene in it that plays out quite a bit like the dream sequence in NY with Peter and the gang. If Peter does what the character in my book does then not only will I be super peeved, but I'll also wonder if I can predict the future or someone has been raiding my computer for ideas...

But, wouldn't the police have had the building/cell checked for radiation after radioactive guy was there? For their own well-being, if for nothing else? Sort of like what the officials are doing since the KGB agent was poisoned?

So, let's assume that the police "cleaned" the cell. Would Peter's abilities be so strong that he'd be able to absorb the powers even after another hero is gone and the room has been cleaned? Why wouldn't being with Claire in the room make him better? Should he not have absorbed her powers again, too?

My DD sat next to me on the couch last night, shaking in anticipation of everything that was going to occur. We watched the sneak peak on Access Hollywood before the show aired and she was so into seeing everything else that transpired after the scene snippets that were online. She jumped when Nathan turned into Sylar in Peter's dream. We didn't expect that, nor did we expect for Sylar to jump through the glass at Eden.

We loved that the Haitian will become a confidant to Claire. She may not see him often, but she'll at least be able to keep things to herself while knowing that there is someone out there who knows and understands.

We'll definitely watch this again on Friday night on SciFi.

Sylar didn;t jump through the glass did he?? It looked to me like he pulled her through the glass to him (hence the jagged cuts on her face and head). I assumed he used his telekineses to drag her to him.

Just my speculative 2 cents but I think eventually Nikki will be strong enough to integrate Jessica into her personality, their will no longer be a split. Her love for her family will help her do it.

I believed that somehow Peter absorbed radioactive mans powers but I don't think they would make him sick because they don't appear to make radioactive man sick. His initial response may be sickness but he won't stay sick.

If Peter could explode from absorbing radio active man's power, this must mean that peter has developed the ability to absorb and hold powers after he has been exposed to another hero, even when the hero he absorbed the power from is no longer near him. They must not wear off.

Another theory is perhaps what we saw was not Peter exploding but another power he has developed. I'll believe he explodes when he explodes. They will never kill him off, he is the most powerful hero next to the evil Sylar

Peter is the only one who can possibly stop Sylar, that is if he has the ability or develops the ability to hold several powers at once like sylar. I don't think it would make him crazy like Sylar because Peter is inherently good and does not have to murder to receive powers. Sylar proves that you can hold several powers at once. I think Peter is his equal and wil become greater than we know.

Hiro may be able to stop sylar because he can stop time and kill him. Hmmmmmm...

I think Peter is MORE powerful than Sylar, because he doesn't have to kill the others to get their powers

When Sylar pulled Eden through the glass, was Sylar somehow using the same kind of power that DL has? Remember DL used that type of power to unlock the cabin door from inside.

I don't know about that. Sylar has killed other Heroes that we don't know about. It could be a different kind of power. Didn't the glass shatter when he reached through it?

Questions, questions, questions. :teeth: LOVE this show! :thumbsup2 Some of this has been touched on, but here are a few of the questions I was left with after the show last night...

1) Does Bennet have power of his own? My thought is that he does. Yes, the Haitian has always been shown with him when he was able to block powers from being used, but that doesn't necessarily mean that Bennet wasn't using a power of his own. I think he does, and it cost Eden her life not to have that knowledge, as she thought the cell Sylar was in would be enough to keep him from using his powers on her.

2) What's up with Hiro and the Dinosaur? Remember, ALL of Isaac's drawings have come true exactly as he drew or painted them, at least visually. There is usually more to the story than just what can be seen, but what can be seen is shown accurately. Hence, Hiro WILL go back in time...provided he either a)has a reason to do so, or b) can't get control of his time-jumping powers.

3) What's going to happen to Niki / Jessica, now that she's turning herself in for murder? Personally, I think Jessica will assert herself enough to break them out of jail, but Niki will eventually gain control of her powers. That's JUST a guess, though.

4) What's up with the Haitian? Obviously, he has a different agenda than Bennet, but just what is it? And is he working for someone else? Speaking of which...

5) Who is Bennet working for? Everyone seems to assume that it is a government agency of some sort, but is that really the case? If not, then who?

Lastly, and perhaps most importantly...

6) What is up with Peter? My theory is that Peter's mimicry is not his real power. More like a side-effect. If you know anything about the X-Men (or, at least, saw the last movie, which didn't fully go into her story but at least familiarized people with who she is), I think Peter is going to be very much like the Phoenix character...and just like her, I'm not sure he's going to end up on the "good guys" team. In the end, I think he is going to be the most powerful of the entire group...but he'll have to make a conscious choice to use his power for real good, rather than just to arrange things the way he wants them. Even then, he will likely think of himself as a good guy, even as all the good guys are doing everything they can to stop him.

The writing on this show is just fantastic, and there are SOOOO many ways they could take all of the stories.

OH, and just one more question...

Are you on the list? ;)

I don't think he "reached through it"...I think he used his telekinesis to pull Eden to him. Have to watch it again to see, but I'm pretty sure that's what happened.

I don't think radioactive man was nearby. If Peter was "captured" by Mr Bennet I could see that theory as being plausible, but it doesn't make sense in this case because Peter so far needs to be near the hero to channel the power.

I definitely don't think Mr Bennet has powers. Interesting theory, but I think Sylar would have used his telekenisis to pull him through the glass if he did have power. Instead he waited until he came across the 1st hero he encountered since being locked up, which was Eden.

Isaac's girlfriend was in the dream sequence. Since only heroes & Mohinder were in that sequence, I'm assuming she has powers she doesn't realize yet or she plays a bigger role than she has so far.
