Official "Heroes" discussion thread - Caution: Speculation and Potential Spoilers

Hi! Is it okay if I join in? DH and I love this show!

I have a couple theories about Peter. I wonder if he retains a small part of the powers he obsorbs and it's starting to make him sick. When he lands in NY, he's surrounded by heroes, maybe he obsorbs their powers and they're conflicting within his body and destroy him. Another theory is that when we see Peter in NY he's actually being inhabited by Sylar or Sylar has changed his appearance to look like Peter (who know what kinds of powers Sylar has or will acquire?).

I can't wait for the show to continue! I'm guessing we won't see it again until the first of the new year. This was probably already covered in this thread. I haven't read all the posts.

Sylar didn;t jump through the glass did he?? It looked to me like he pulled her through the glass to him (hence the jagged cuts on her face and head). I assumed he used his telekineses to drag her to him.

That's what I thought...she's a lot smaller than him and she was caught off-guard, so it was easy for him to pull her through. I would have thought that it would have been it would be some type of safety glass that couldn't shatter so easily, but then, this IS Sylar we're talking about!

I didn't think of the Hiro-getting-his-sword-from-a-museum angle - that makes perfect sense. I honestly thought that it had something to do with Isaac's drug use - when he was high, his paintings were straightforward. Now that he's clean, his paintings would need interpretation. So I'm reading too much into it - the museum thing makes better sense

5) Who is Bennet working for? Everyone seems to assume that it is a government agency of some sort, but is that really the case? If not, then who?

Well I have a theory. There is a character that we know about and have not yet met. Linderman. He seems to be involved in the lives of many of our characters.


By the way guys, have you been on the NBC Heroes Forums? The people over there are so unfriendly. A newbie will post a theory, and they will jump all over them, telling them its implausible due to some priciple that Sir Isaac Newton discovered, or they'll yell at a newbie for discussing something they discussed 2 weeks ago.

I have another theory about the dinosaur.....what if there is a hero that has the ability to change shape or just as sylar could be something else, the ability to project an image that makes them seem to be a t-rex....

I also wanted to bring up something that some of you had discussed after last weeks chapter, DL's powers. Did you notice that the first bullet Jessica fired he was not expecting and he was hit in the shoulder but the second, he was expecting, passed right through his skull via his powers and hit the tire of the truck.

I know there was a discussion some pages back about this and some of you were wondering how DL's powers would work with a bullet passing through him and it really made me think so I was trying to pay attention to that part. I think they got it exactly right, makes perfect sense to me.

He had to have known that Eden wouldn't be safe with Sylar without him (or the Haitian) there to block Sylar's powers. Did he want Sylar to kill Eden and get her power?

He couldn't have known she'd shoot herself over letting him kill her. And even if he did, why did he want her to die?

I have never posted to this thread before! It's great to see so many Hero fans!! I'm definately one of them!

As for tonights episode....
I think Eden pointed the gun to her head and sacrificed herself so that Sylar couln't gain her power.

What a great episode that was!

I believe you are correct! And didn't you love the look on Sylar's face? surprised that he could make Audrey point the gun at her head, but couldn't keep it from Eden's. And did anyone else think he lied to her about the gun not hurting him if she shot him?

I think that Claire's dad is really her bio father and he has the power to block other peoples powers, like a shield. That's why Eden's powers wouldn't work on him & the cop couldn't read his mind. Her mom isn't her bio mom however, someone else is that we'll hear about in a future episode. Claire's dad just arranged the adoption and even his wife doesn't know that Claire is really his. I don't blame Claire's dad for doing what he did to her friend and brother, he's just trying to protect his little girl.

My side... Not sure about Claire being his real daughter, but they have been hiding stuff from each other all along. I do wonder if she will get Zach back into it. And the Haitian said he had visited her mom many times. Wonder if he had "visited" Claire before too.

But he is doing that to her to and that isn't the best thought. He isn't protecting her, he is hiding her and she isn't safe that way.

I think perhaps Peter was exploding due to too many other powers around him at the same time. He can't absorb that much power.

Good thought!! But Isaac drew a flaming person, and Ted is or may be that way also. And Peter sure was dreaming a lot this episode.

I'm new to this thread, but I love the show!

My first thought was that Peter blew up because he had absorbed radioactive man's powers. But, the theory mentioned above about him absorbing too many powers at once makes sense too. I guess we'll have to wait until January to find out.

But the look on Nathan's face and body structure, as he walked out toward him....

I still think the dad is the power blocker and the Haitian dude is a mind swiper. It'll be the big shocking twist when they reveal that he's really Claire's bio dad and he has powers too. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

We do know that Bennett is answering to someone above him, as in taking orders. I noticed that when he was on the phone coming up the stairs after he talked with Sylar the first time.

Wow! Does that mean that I'm turning into one of you geeks? I've felt so left behind. You guys know so much more about superheroes than me and I had a theory that actually worked out similarly to the way I thought it would... although I thought he'd be able to turn on the pass-through shield when he heard the bullet, not after the first one shot him.

i really don't know what to think of the radioactive guy, anyway. how did they explain his powers? did they come out of nowhere, like everyone else's?? or did he get the radioactiveness(is that even a word?) from something happening to him? because if that's the case, he really doesn't have a true "power" like the rest of them.

ps, i missed like the first 10 minutes of the show, can anyone catch me up to what happened? i caught it right when Nikki(Jessica) shot her husband.

Ted said his powers came after he lost 2 days. He told Matt this before homeland security took him. We do know that Bennett had him. He feels guilty for killing his wife.

When Sylar pulled Eden through the glass, was Sylar somehow using the same kind of power that DL has? Remember DL used that type of power to unlock the cabin door from inside.

I think Eden went to kill Sylar with out HRG's permission. Remember how she asked him if she should do it, and he kinda blew her off? So I don't think he wanted Eden to go to Sylar, and definitely didn't want her to get killed.

Hadn't thought about Claire's dad having powers. Since everyone seems to have only one power (not counting Sylar and his stealing powers), it makes sense that the Haitian wouldn't be able to block powers AND erase memories. It's possible that either power could cause the static Matt experienced.

Whoa, Peter!! Hopefully that is a sign of something they will be able to change. I do like the theory that it's from a power duplication overload and the sudden inability to cope. Being around two others is one thing; being around seven others is another.

Another theory. I wonder if Peter can only duplicate the original power of the hero. That would explain why he couldn't use Sylar's telekinesis; since Sylar stole it from another, it's not originally his, so Peter couldn't copy it.

I still don't think Bennett has a power. I could easily be wrong, though. I think the Haitian can block and read minds & remove memories. He blocked Eden from effecting him and Bennett. He blocked Matt from reading Claire in the jail. he also provides somekind of dampening field as well, though Matt may be a bit stronger at times. I was a bit surpriesed he didn't knwo Matt was tryingto "read" either of them. With that much effort, it seems there would have been some sign.

I also wonder if Peter still wans't completley whole. Witht he cough, the shortness of breath he was hainvg earleir. Even when Claire came into his cell, his color got better, but he still looked pretty much like that "dead" picture of him by the end of the show. And there were some Heroes in the area, but not sure it would be an overload. They all weren't around him at once and he did passout with Nathan only. And as I said before, he did dream a lot during this episode!

And on your other theroy..Good suggestion! Or maybe he can only pick up one at a time? He did deflect a few lockers but then seemed to lose it there. And I was surprised he saw Sylar's face so clear in the cell when he morphed there in his first dream from Nathan to Sylar. I didn't think he could see his face so clear on the bleachers.

any one catch what Sylar said to Peter? And it was cool that Nathan came in as he dreamed, said the start of the conversation, but didn't get to the touchy feely stuff.
