Official "Heroes" discussion thread - Caution: Speculation and Potential Spoilers

Not always the mom cause they were both in the one scene together. Not sure where they moved her though. Maybe so Matt could read her?

Right...I remember now that they were in the scene together when the new girl told Claire's mom she liked her hair.....

Great pic!

So, in Peter's vision of him going nuclear in New York City, all the heroes are there, including Simone. How does Simone's death work into Peter's vision???

Sylar could never hurt Peter because Peter can absorb any powers that Sylar has. Seems like the making of arch nemesis to me. Peter has a lot of options. He could disappear. He could play dead and then heal himself. I for one couldn't wait until he encountered Sylar so that he could absorb all of the powers Sylar has.

But has Sylar ever actually touched Peter? I can't remember, but I know at the end he wasn't touching him, just pointing his finger o' death at his head.

Pete doesn't have to touch them...just be in their presence.

We're thinking Hiro has to touch a person in order for them to travel with him

This was my thought.. Maybe Peter is absorbing Sylar's powers out of him as he is hanging there against the wall :worried:

Okay, after the last two episodes, anyone want to take bets on who from the show will get Emmy nominations?? I'll be surprised if "Company Man" doesn't get a writing nod, and Masi and Hayden acting nominations.

I'm a little bummed. According to the recap on nbc.com, Candice is a shapeshifter. I was sure her power was going to be casting illusions (like Mastermind or Projectra, for all the comic book geeks out there).

FutureHiro's comment about Peter's scar could be explained one of two ways. First, there's what someone said about FH changing things and the Peter ended up meeting Claire before he got the scar that FH was familiar with. A temporal anomaly ... very comic-bookish. :teeth: Second -- I know I mentioned this before and haven't seen anything anywhere confirming anything one way or another, but I still think that this could be a cool aspect for Peter's abilities -- Peter can only use one power at a time and the injury doesn't have a chance to heal properly because he's having to use other abilities either to escape from or fight Sylar. And if it's a continuity inconsistency ... well, that's very comic-bookish too. :teeth:

One surprising thing about this show is how some of the characters have grown on me. I was afraid Hiro would be a stereotypical fanboy geek. In many ways he is, but he's also very likeable and a fun light in what is otherwise a fairly dark show. At the beginning, I wasn't sure about Peter, but the character has become pretty darn interesting.

I have a feeling that the grandmother, Mrs.Petrelli, is in it way deeper than any one could have known. Its been known that her husband had deep ties with Linderman, so why wouldn't she already know him. And then for her not to be suprised that Claire was alive was odd. To me it seemed like she had to have known all along that she survived the fire. I would not be surprised to find out that she knows her sons are special and that she is connected big time to HRG's group. Who knows, she might even have a power herself.

I think Ma Ma Petrelli will be a Big part in the next chapter. She always seemed like a Hard (beep) and since her DH was well known she would be on the "IN" side of who's who

but I don't wanna wait!!!! :crazy2:

Did any of you scream at the end of the last episode? I did and scared the "beep" out of my DH. It's too good. While all week long we have speculating what kind of Simone might have, I was a little disappointed by the fact that she is really gone(or is she????)

Weeks without Heroes, tell us what you all will be doing or watching. I know I will be watching 24 "live". :happytv:

I had this on DVR and just watched it last night. All I can say is........

APRIL 23rd?????????????? :faint:

I heart Peter.

OK, let's go back to when Mr. Bennett was confronting the Hatian(does he have a name?). He wanted to know why he disobeyed his order about erasing Claire's memory. The Hatian replied "I answer to someone who's instructions supercede yours." Bennett exclaims, 'In this company?" Hatian responds, "In your daughters life."

Could Mama Petrelli have as much influence as Linderman? We know her husband was his lawyer. What is her realtionship with him?

I believe so. And IMO it was obvious she was involved, and likely has powers herself, as soon as they showed Claire's mom and dad (Nathan) both having powers.

I don't know what to make of the show anymore. They(writers) are too GOOD with the ***/WTH factors. When you think you know where the stoy is going, they threw a hard-curve ball to get you totally lost. It is absolutely impossible to think now that Simone is really dead. Simone and her "deceased" father were the least mentioned characters in the show so far, but everything about the heroes are drawn to his building??? The exposion scene with Simone(supposingly dead) suggests something more sinister.
I really want to see Mohinder acquiring some abilities(if he survives Sylar's vicious attack) I am liking him too much to see him so vuln:sad2: erable.

But has Sylar ever actually touched Peter? I can't remember, but I know at the end he wasn't touching him, just pointing his finger o' death at his head.

Yes, he did. Remember in "Homecoming" Sylar grabbed Peter and they fell to their "deaths".

From Heroes Creator Tim Kring:

3/6/07

Hello again to my extra-ordinary friends,

It’s been seven episodes since we've last spoken, and our heroes have come a long way-- Peter learned to control his abilities; Matt teamed up with Ted Sprague to find answers to his questions; Claire witnessed the sacrifice her adopted father was willing to make to protect her; Niki and Jessica have battled for control over their life with Micah and DL; Sylar escaped from Primatech Paper to claim new victims.

You've now just seen episode 18, and at its conclusion we've left our heroes in peril -- HRG's plan to protect Claire has been discovered by Thompson; Isaac is staring at paintings of his own death; Hiro and Ando have transported to the future five years after the bomb's explosion; Nathan is pondering an offer from Linderman that will make him President of the United States; and Peter is moments away from becoming Sylar’s latest victim.

HEROES will be taking a short break, but when we return with new episodes on April 23, we know you'll agree that it’s been worth the wait. You'll see which of our characters escape from the danger they're in, you'll learn more about Linderman's involvement in our characters lives, and you'll even see a glimpse of what the future will be like if our heroes fail to stop the explosion in New York City. In the meantime, here are some answers to questions that you've asked:

Zach Quinto, who portrays Sylar, has been, in my opinion, an important aspect to the series. Are there plans to make him a series regular?
Look for Sylar's character to continue on in season two.

Are there any plans to introduce new, long-lasting female characters?
You've just met Candice, our master of illusion, who may be sticking around to team up with an unexpected character. There are also plans for another major female character for next season.

Is there any real significance to Mr. Bennet's glasses?

Because his character had very few lines in the pilot, and needed to be recognizable, we gave him a distinct pair of glasses. I also liked that they had a distinct early days of the CIA look to them. Very "Company Man".

There are many books, magazines, shows, movies, all about people with super human abilities. Do you feel you are creating a new way of looking into what it means to be super human?
We are looking at heroes as though they are ordinary people living in the real world. If you woke up one morning and discovered you had a fantastic ability, what would you do? Embrace it like Hiro, ignore it like Nathan, or abuse it like Sylar?

Keep watching!

1. Peter was about a foot off the floor.

2. I think that Syler was holding Mo on the ceiling with TK. So how many things can Syler do at once?

3. Peter screams like a girl, and much louder than Jackie did!

4. Not sure that Peter can take all of Sylers powers, but then again, TK wasn't Sylar's he stole it. Hmmmm....

5. Peter and Syler did touch when they fell/pushed/jumped off the stadium roof in Homecoming.

6. I think Peter is in shock over what has happened to him in the last few hours. He sees Claude tazered, flies, Claude leaves, Issac starts shooting at him, Simone dies, Issac starts shooting again, he crosses town(?) to get to Nathan to vent, hears Nathan is in cahoots with FBI over Linderman while he is invisible, runs again cross town (?) to Mo, tells Sylar who he is, has Mo bleed on him from the ceiling, and then gets grabbed a foot off the floor and has his head cut. I think it will take a few for him to gain control and do something to Syalr, but it will be a good fight. I did hear that they met more than once and homecoming didn't count in that tally!

7. I think that he has touched almost everyone he got powers from or they touched him. The only one I'm not totally sure about is Future Hiro.
a. He and Nathan hug, touch.
b. Claire touches him, he pushes her.
c. He and Issac touch the first meeting, I think one grabs the others shoulder.
d. He an Sylar do when they fall.
e. Claude has him pinned up against something when they first meet.
f. I don't think he and Matt touched though Matt put the asprin bottle in front of him....

No bets on the Emmy's. WOW!

I have heard both sides of the scar issue also. Maybe he keeps a scar to remember "great powers bring great responsibility"?

But didn't Peter use more than one power in his rooftop battle with Claude and when fighting/dodging Issac? He was invisible and was throwing/moving things to make Issac shoot another way. Or maybe that was Peter moving around?

Oh and Candance...I don't think she is a shapeshifter but can also control things around her. She hid Simones body on the bed from the cops, didn't she? But since nbc said it...:confused3 . I'll wait for the comic to come on line and then we will know it is canon!

I also agree on the Heroes and how we would feel abot them. Nathan seemed to be so slimey and he runs deeper than I thought. Mohinder being such a naive, unsure geek, and look at him with Syler. ANd the Haitian too.

They love to make us twist in the wind, eh?:yay:

Wonder if she is the one the Haitian was protecting? Or maybe Claude? He (clude) could have caused her shoplifting arrest by slipping that in her pocket/purse:confused3 ?

And are her sons her own...or adopted? They don't look to much alike. Of course one could look like dad, and we haven't seen a picture of him yet. *sigh*

Simone is gone. Tawney Cypress says so on tvguide.com. She may make apperences, but she is out looking for another job.
