*-Official February 2015 Thread-*

My wife and I (retired) will be driving our motor home from Westminster, Maryland and spending 2 full weeks at the campgrounds at Fort Wilderness. We have reservations for January 29th thru February 12th. We were there last in May of 2002, and stayed at the campground for 6 days in a travel trailer. We rushed through hoping to see and do as much as we could. This time, we plan to take it easy and just enjoy the trip. I have done some extensive planning for this trip, and my only concern will be the weather. Hopefully, we won't have to deal with snow or ice on the way south or coming back home.... It's a roll of the dice, actually. We are both getting anxious.

What a wonderful adventure you both have planned! I am hoping for good weather as well, especially for your travels.

Hi! We are able to schedule our FP+ this weekend, and I was going to make up a planner/worksheet. Then I thought, maybe one exists somewhere in the boards? Does anybody know of one?

Thanks!
Vanessa

Just want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I can't believe I'm just about a week away from setting up my fast passes as well...wow time flies

We're going to be at the World Feb. 22-28. It's the first trip for 4 out of the 5 in our group. The little boys (6 and 7) don't know yet and we're not telling them until the day before we leave....can't wait. :D pixiedust:

Happy Thanksgiving back at you, CaptainDavidHook! And everyone else, too! (A dancing banana for lack of a dancing turkey)

It is hard to believe in 2 days I will be up late at night scheduling my fast passes! Time is going by quickly.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Have you gone into MDE and looked at the fast pass area? I looked tonight and I don't think they have my reservation linked correctly as it is only showing as if I could do fast passes 30 days out instead of 60. Guess I will call tomorrow as I really would rather not have any surprises Sunday night...

Nancy, what makes you question the linking? I don't know what I'm supposed to see!

I have not looked but I am always hearing there are issues with that site and everything being linked together. Hope this doesn't turn out to be an issue for me as well. I would definitely call them.

I am curious to see how this is all going to work. I was actually watching people on you tube on how to do this. I have the park hopper and was told you can only reserve your fast passes for one park. That stinks a little. Hopefully it will work out fine. Let me know what comes of your issue and would love to hear what your experience ends up being with fast passes when you do it eventually. Good luck Nancy.

You won't actually see until you are allowed to make FP+ for your trip. Before that date comes, you can only see as though you can only make FP+ for 30 days out. Same thing happened to us and at midnight, those dates opened up.

Yes. I just got off the phone with Disney CM who explained that exact same thing. Thanks! He said tomorrow night at midnight the 60 window will open for my linked ticket and reservation. That prior to that it will only see the ticket and not resort booked at, therefore a 30 day window is all that pops up.

Princess83 thank you so much for verifying this with your own experience!

It's true, you can only reserve the FPes for one park, but honestly, if you know how your family tours and have a good game plan it should work out okay. We were able to snag a 7DMT FP for one morning even with booking just days before the 30-day guests were able to sign on, and even had a chance at an A&E the morning Disney released more hours for them. I figure if the newest "must haves" were still available at that time then I can work something out even if the system doesn't work properly right at midnight.

We won't get to book until roughly the day before Christmas but I'll start crossing my fingers for everyone else to get your top priorities! Oh, and if those videos didn't show this, you ARE able to go back in and kind of micro-manage the times after selecting one of the four pre-set options. Example: You get 3 FPes spread out during the day, but can go back in and change the first from 11am to 9:20am then the second from 1pm to 10:20am, etc. A bit confusing to read without doing it yourself and took me a while to get used to but shouldn't be too tricky to pick up on.

Yes as a solo traveler I was hoping to do a couple of fast passes in one park then hop over to another park with a fast pass choice. Oh well it will be fine will make my selections then do my park hopping anyway. :hourglass

Me too. I am there solo and was hoping to do the same. I was curious thou, do all my fast passes time have to be almost identical. What I mean, example:

Splash Mountain: 1-2
Thunder Mountain: 2-3
Peter Pan: 3-4

What if I eat a late lunch around 2-ish or so, can I break up the times and spread them out over a course of a day. On Feb, 7th Mk is open till 2 am and was hoping to capitalize on this with some late fast passes but more or less spread out as I have an ADR at the Plaza Restaurant set for 7. I am at DHS during the day but coming back to MK for the night and was hoping to do some fast passes around 6 or so and maybe 9 and 11. Just a thought.

go to the disney website, click fastpass+ in the bottom right corner, then click "update Fastpass+", from there you can edit times.

Yes, you CAN spread out your FPes throughout the day. One of the pre-set options I got when plugging in Splash, Big Thunder and 7DMT was for 7DMT at 10:20-11:20am, Big Thunder at 3:50-4:50pm and Splash all the way at 9:40-10:40pm. If I remember right, one option spreads you out, another is for mostly morning, a third mostly mid-day and the last mostly night, but like IceSkatingPrincess said, these are easily adjusted around your ADRs/whims! As long as there are still FPes available at the time you're looking for then you can plan almost any kind of day. Note that times cannot overlap. Example: if you already have Peter Pan for 9:10-10:10pm and you're trying to adjust a Splash FP for near the 11pm that any 10-11pm slots won't show because the start of Splash would overlap for even 10 minutes with the end of Peter Pan's FP.

Seriously, it sounds like a lot to take in but once you've managed to select the first day and get used to the system it becomes easy.
