*-Official February 2015 Thread-*

One more work day and then we are off! Packing a few extra warm layers, but should be ok. Had a student come in early and he walked in my room, said "I don't feel good". I said "what your stomach?" He said yes. I yelled "GET OUT!!" I don't need is stomach bug this close to the trip.

I was in a gym class when I overheard the woman next to me say how hard it is going to be doing the class with a high fever. I quickly moved myself to the opposite end of the room! I feel ya! One week and counting!

We leave tomorrow and cannot wait to get out of this freezing weather! Not going to be hot while we’re there and that’s just fine with us. I hope you all have a wonderful trip!

It finally hit. A week out from needing to be perfectly packed and I'm finally feeling those we're-going-to-be-in-Disney tingles! May have helped that Mom and I have binged on all three seasons of Once Upon a Time for the past two weeks (she's never seen it). The 10 day forecast calls for snow-to-ice at PIT but hopefully that will change as the time draws closer. Good heavens, one week to be ready. Augh!

9 days until Disney!! DD and I are both sick and hopped up on antibiotics which is great because at least we're getting it out of the way!! I cannot wait for the sun on my face (hopefully!) and some humidity!!! The air in MN is killer dry! Hope everyone leaving this week gets out safe, on time, and has a wonderful trip!!

For those going the last week in Feb - AKA- NEXT WEEK!!!!!)
What are you packing for clothes? It seems that it will be in the 60s during the day, 70s a few days and 40/50 at night.

I pack dresses for DD and I! They're perfect for layering with leggings and a cardigan in the cooler morning and night! Mid day we peel layers and put them in a backpack until it cools down again!

We are doing lots of skirts, so that is perfect- we will just add leggings under to peel off!
DH and DS should be fine in shorts and a jacket because I can toss the stroller towel over DS

I don't have a lot of dresses, but that sounds brilliant! Might have to search the back of my closet and find a couple. Otherwise, it's mostly shorts for us, a pair of jeans and one pair of .... what are they called.... capris? Clearly I'm not fashion oriented. We figure by Wednesday we'll check the weather again and add/switch out warmer items as necessary.

I'm planning on a few pairs of jeans (I wear jeans even in the burning heat of August so it doesn't make much difference to me) several t-shirts, a jacket or two and my Pooh sweatshirt if we have a really cold morning or evening.

Hope both you and your DD feel better before your trip. Drink lots and lots of fluids! I know I sound like a mother hen. Don't forget the dole whip experiment as well.

good luck as well to all people on this thread leaving for safe trips with bad weather ahead

Due to arrive tonight. Woke up this morning to a CANCELED flight! me:  wife:  There's not even that much snow... just windy... and not even that windy later when our flight was due to depart... darn Southwest.

Did some crazy fast scrambling and we're now renting a car from the airport we were supposed to leave from (Islip, Long Island, NY) and driving it one way to Philadelphia and was able to change our flight to depart from there. Now arriving one hour earlier then anticipated! :yay:

Just wish us luck on the 2.75 hour drive to Philly that it's uneventful.

After having to reschedule my flight to early Saturday morning to avoid the storm and having my usual 4 and a half hour flight (not direct) take 9 hours (it's a long story) we just checked in to the VWL and found out we had been upgraded to a two bedroom villa!!!!!!!! Thoroughly enjoying sitting on my balcony enjoying a drink and the sunshine and not worrying about whether I have to shovel the driveway again.

Safe travels to everyone!

I hope everything went well for you and that you're on your way/already in warm, sunny Florida!

Weather forecasts keep showing snow/maybe rain for our departure date, but it's Dad's vacation so I'm not scrambling just yet. I DID snag us a motel near the airport since it's a 2 hour drive from where we live, just in case. I'd rather take my time driving down Saturday evening rather than scrambling in the middle of the night Sunday and get caught in a pile-up. (Hopefully there won't be one anyway). We'll have until Friday to cancel it no-charge. Praying everyone else is getting there or home safe!

We're leaving late Thursday/early Friday morning! We're Floridians so we're just driving the two hours. For those asking about weather, it's been BEAUTIFUL lately. This upcoming week is just going to get better! We've already been turning on the AC during the day and turning the heat on for a few minutes at night to take the chill off and that is it. It will be in the early 70's all week and probably in the low 50s at night. You can for sure bring those shorts and tank tops, maybe bring a cardigan or light sweater just in case. I know it's freezing up North for a lot of you, so enjoy thawing out down here. I'm dreading the summer. We didn't really have a winter this year which always leads to us having a super hot summer, Yuck. But for now, it's lovely.

I'm so excited!
Finishing up washing socks and undies for the kids, making sure we each have at least a hoodie- maybe a beanie in case it is chilly at night too!
Updated the TOMTOM so we don't get lost and requested an Altima at the rental place.
Now to finalize our Stroller Rental and organize car games and make a final list for groceries while there.

EEK! This week is going to fly by!

Is anyone going to be swimming ? The high is 80 when we arrive on Sunday... and since the pools are heated, that sounds like awesome swimming weather- anyone else? (I would have to go buy a suit!)
