*-Official February 2015 Thread-*

I was suppose to fly out of Manchester, NH Thursday night with my 3 kids and my husband is flying Friday night. I got worried about the next storm system coming to New England on Thursday. At this point the forecasters say it could be nothing or it could be big! SOOOO I changed my flight to Wednesday night. Cons- more $ and getting to resort at 1am with 3 little kids!!! Pro- extra (and warm!) day at WDW. The weekend looks cold down there but man, it is going to be 10 degrees where we live so I will take 58!!!

After reading some horror stories last Feb break of people missing flights due to the storm and not getting out for up to 3-4 days later, I really didnt want to risk it!

Good luck everyone with this crazy weather pattern!!!

Good luck! Fingers crossed that it will go out. Can't deal with another foot of snow.

Universal is amazing. The rides r crazy good. You should try and get there. We'll worth. Man this bus driver is slow as hell, typing on way to mk =)

So sad, flew back to the west coast on Sunday evening and still having withdrawals. 4 days just aren't enough.:p
On the bright side, met several nice people along the way and the cast members made this trip a very magical one.
I'm already on the lookout for a return trip in October!
Oh and the POP was very accomodating and the staff were friendly.
:thumbsup2

Leaving NY for Disney on Sunday when it will be a high of 1 degree here! It will be 53 in Orlando, which is a bit colder than I was hoping. It is supposed to snow here on Saturday, but I hope things are cleared up by mid-day Sunday when we are scheduled to fly out.

We are looking at quite a range of weather in Orlando next week - a low of 37/53 degrees on Sunday through a high of 76 on Tuesday (which is luckily our MK day). Monday and Thursday are predicted to be in the low 60s. Wednesday is high 60s with a little rain.

We have to pack everything from winter coats to shorts and sun block. Day packing for the parks will be a whole nuther headache. Wear jeans/layers in the AM, pack shorts in the stroller/shed layers as we go...

I am preparing to repack to meet the weather forecast just described. I need to add a heavier layer to my bag, due to those lows mentioned! I am happy to see we will hopefully need short sleeves, too! I was really fretting over the forecast, until the lightbulb went off... Just wear a coat! And 54 is about 54 degrees warmer than it will be in my hometown! Another bonus, maybe my kids won't complain about how hot it is (they wilt above 65!) I look to be leaving between storms, Friday night. With the crazy, almost constant, storm pattern we have had this winter, I am surprised more of us February folks haven't had trouble getting to FL. None of us would mind getting stuck once there, though, right?

::yes:: :thumbsup2

The snow isn't bothering me so much as the fact DSis caught the cough at work, now Dad has it and Mom's starting, too. Hopefully we get it out of the way NOW and will be fine in 12 days for the trip. Making a note to watch the temperatures and set aside another pair of jeans, just in case.

Word of advice dress warm for early mornings and late evening usually by 10 am it warms up unless it was cold like today

I agree def dress warm in am and for when sun goes down. I was able to get by with shorts during the day most days I was there except 2 days when jeans were necessary due to colder temps. Northface makes a great lightweight jacket that is wind proof and waterproof which kept me warm enough in the evening hours. Also wore a colder band from BBolderbands. Perfect to keep ears warm with the cooler weather and wind!

Have great fun those of you with upcoming trips, wish I could go back tomorrow! :).

Geez, I just checked the forecast again and the temp on Sunday (when we arrive) is now showing to be 12 degrees higher (at 65) than was predicted yesterday (53). I guess we will just have to wait (ugh) and see.

I am so curious about the weather! We are from Texas so if it is in the 50s all day, we will be freezing LOL.
It looks like a front is hitting this week- I hope that makes for a warm up the week we are there because I would rather wear skirts and tees than jeans and hoodies.

15 days and counting! Found out we will be park hopping on two of the days we are down there, and finally was able to book my fp+. No mine train at this point, but that's ok...I'm willing to wait in line for that one! The kids will be marching through Epcot on the 27th, so cheer them on if you are there! :jumping1:

Hoping for some great weather while we are there...we went about this time last year and it was nice during the day, and a slight chill at night...I think it will be perfect! :sunny:

Sending some pixie dust to those awaiting weather/flight craziness. Hope everyone has a safe trip down!pixiedust:

One more work day and then we are off! Packing a few extra warm layers, but should be ok. Had a student come in early and he walked in my room, said "I don't feel good". I said "what your stomach?" He said yes. I yelled "GET OUT!!" I don't need is stomach bug this close to the trip.

And let that be a lesson to the poor kid. Never walk sick into a classroom when the teacher is about to go on a long-deserved vacation! pixiedust: Hope he gets well and you don't catch it.

What is funny he was fine walking into the building with me, put his stuff away, came in my room, and it hit him instantly. I have been in a bubble for weeks!

Thanks for update. Glad to be leaving first thing tomorrow morning. Looking forward to hearing about this next storm and not experiencing it!

Me too!! Heading to the airport tonight so we will be ready first thing in the AM.
