I need help choosing days for Character meals... I'm pretty sure we want to do at least Ariel's grotto and Minnie's Kitchen. I have a 6yo princess loving girl and a 3.5yo Mickey loving boy. We fly in 2/14 and fly out 2/21 and are buying 5 day passes. It's President's day weekend so we're trying to decide which days to go to the park - definitely Tues-Friday but not sure if we'll go Sunday or Monday. Anyway.... when would you do the meals to maximize magic morning and the days we have available? I guess I need to get on some reservations!
And if you have any thoughts about Sunday or Monday chime in!
Thanks all!
Where are you flying from??
60 days until we leave! In a few days I'll be able to make our reservation for Big Thunder BBQ. It will be our only dining reservation.
I wish they'd release the dang refurb schedule. I looked at the last day listed on their calendar and I do see some things listed but no 'end' date or anything.
The only character meal where you can meet Mickey is the Surf's Up one at Paradise Pier.
One idea is to schedule Surf's Up on one of your NON-park days, that way your son gets to meet Mickey and you get to maximize your park time since you don't need to enter the park to do it. Minnie & Friends is considered to be the best one for characters but it is inside the park and will take away from your park time.
So Surf's Up vs Minnie and Friends - which do you meet more characters at? I shouldn't have said he's a Mickey lover, he loves the general Mickey characters. If we'd see more characters at Minnie then maybe we shouild stick there. I like the idea of Surf's up on a non-park day. What about Princess days?
I am pretty sure you can meet more characters at M&F but the interaction at SU is great especially if your kids like to dance! If it were me and I had some non-park days, I would be very tempted to do SU on one of those days and not waste park time at M&F. The last time we did SU it was back in 2011 but I think we saw: Mickey, Daisy, Lilo, Stitch and at least one maybe two more.
Princess..hmm, that might depend on whether or not you are staying at an onsite hotel. If you are not, then I would do Ariel's on a day that DL does not have early entry. If you are staying onsite and get early entry into both parks, then I don't really have any advice!
We are at an offsite hotel. I'm thinking Wednesday?
The 10 day pass was only $10.00 more than the 5 day one
This just released today, sheds some details on DCA. Hoping we will get to enjoy it in Feb, because rumor is that Mad Hatter Tea Party will be back by May. My DD's love Frozen, so this is AWESOME for our family!

Wow I'm so so so jealous of this! I needed 8 day passes for our trip and ended up getting APs because of the cost. How awesome for you to get 5 extra days for only $10 more!![]()
Here's another article announcing FROZEN in DCA:
