*****Official February 2015 Thread! Come check in and chat!*****

I tweeted to Disneyland about how it sucks that 12 rides/attractions will be down for our visit (plus many restaurants and shops.) They responded with - "Sorry for the inconvenience. All those things are open now." What?! What good does that do me?! Their social media person can bite me. Haha!

Haha! That response is so ridiculous it is funny!

I was sad about Peter Pan initially. We thought that would be our son's first ride. But now we're not entirely sure he'll like the dark rides. Not sure what we'll do for his first. Maybe Casey Jr. or Dumbo.

We decided on our first day we don't want to rush to a ride. We are going to take our time walking down Main Street and getting some photos by the castle. We have five days so there's no hurry.

This trip will be much different than past visits for us!

We have never really gotten the Peter Pan hype, so I am only slightly sad because it sucks people into the line. Now those people will be in other lines instead! We usually ride it once a trip, but if it doesn't work out, it's no biggie!

ETA- Dumbo was my son's first ride- I can't remember my daughter's- typical second child, ha ha! One thing I recommend (if you haven't thought of it) is havng a photo "spot" to track growth over the years. My son's is the sword in the stone and my daughter's is the little Aurora statue behind the castle. This is special for us because the Photopass photographer took us to it after DH proposed.

Hi a newbie to this thread. Yes, we are heading to Disneyland from the 4-6 Feb and then again from the 8-16 Feb. We are staying at the Disneyland Hotel. This is our second visit and heading over from Australia. Very excited. Just thought I would say hi.

Very cute picture idea.

Our first time at DLR kids were 2 and 5. Dumbo was closed. Ooh was that a tough one. Definitely a great first ride. If you get there early or line is soooo slow.

One- yes, apparently my 10 month old was barefoot in Disneyland in December and 2- looking at the pictures, her first ride was King Triton's Carrousel in DCA, which makes sense because we went into DCA that first evening after arrival. Their first character that trip was Woody. My daughter hated the characters (except Minnie) and my son eventually warmed up to them. At 9 and 13 months, he loved them from the get go. This time I know he will be fine with all the "good guys." He might still be afraid of the villains. My daughter, well, she didn't cry with Santa, so she might be okay. But she already told me Goofy and Donald are scary! She's my stranger danger kid for sure!

Hmm...I hadn't thought of what could be his photo spot. I'll have to think about that.

My husband and I always get a photo on the bridge near Big Thunder because that's where he proposed. So we definitely want to get one there with our son.

We'll need to come up with a spot just for him though. We need to think of a place that should always be there (unlike Court of Angels, for example.) May be wise to have a couple spots, actually.

Hi :wave2: from another aussie, we are heading over first 2 weeks of Feb

I actually had a look into changing our dates, so we could be there before the closures in January - atleast $4000 to change our flights, what with fees and the cost between old tickets and new ones, that price didn't even include what it would cost if the accommodation was dearer over January....

Welcome, I have added you to the list on the first post!

I am holding my breath on Pooh and Small World. Some sites are saying they reopen after the 5th. I hope they are right!

Checked the calendar this morning, I can get up to the 6th Feb, Its a small world is no long on the refurbishment calendar but Pooh bear is.

Is Pooh Corner showing as closed still? I think that's the meet and greet. Hungry Bear? If so, it would sound like all of Critter Country is closed. I can live with that I think.... Saves some steps! But we would like to meet Tigger and Pooh! I know they are at Minnie's, but last trip we ate there and sat for over an hour with no characters and had to ask for them to come by. I want to try it again, it gets good reviews, but we aren't ready yet!

Is that the one called "The many adventures of Winnie The Pooh" in Critter Country?? If so, then yes it is still stated as being closed as at 6/2

Disneyland.com's calendars anger me.

This is the one I always look at....

https://disneyland.disney.go.com/calendars/day/2015-02-04/

It doesn't show hours at all in February and has the long list of refurbs through the 6th (the last day it shows.)

Today on Twitter, Disneyland linked me to this calendar with hours...

https://disneyland.disney.go.com/ca/calendar/#/default/2015/02/06

That link doesn't show Pooh closed on the 6th. So I hope that is the accurate one!

But it's annoying that there are so many different calendars on the official site and they don't show the same info.

I see Pooh on both? I only see the meet and greet on the first one, but the second one seems to not have the shops and stuff.

UGH! It wasn't there earlier. :( They probably "fixed" it after I mentioned it to them on Twitter. Lame.

It lists Sleeping Beauty Castle as closed. I wonder if that means the walk-through. Or if it means it will be covered in an ugly blue tarp like before the 50th.

Oh no seriously the castle could be covered in a tarp! I am seriously considering cancelling our trip - I mean what is the point of going when it basically sounds like the park is going to be closed. There is no financial incentive, it's not like it's cheaper, so why bother? Is there some reason I'm missing that we "should" go at this time?
