*~* Official February 2013 Thread *~*

What a neat idea! I really enjoy homemade autographs books, they are so much more thoughtful than a bought one! Your idea to add a picture of your child to the front cover is so cool!

SSR Feb 9 - 16. We just purchased a DVC and our home resort is SSR....looking foward to our 1st trip as DVC members! :yay:

:cool1:

Airfare CLT-MCO for the end of February 2012? $136 roundtrip non-stop!! Here's hoping I can score a deal like that for next February!!

We also decided on a split stay! We honeymooned at AKL and miss it so much.... 4 nights at Art of Animation and then 4 nights in a Savannah view studio at AKV! We are going to rent DVC points. Not sure if we'll do Kidani or Jambo.

Thank you!! They are so much fun to make!!!!

Yay!! I can't wait til we are able to become DVC members! Adding you to the list!!

Feb. 10-16, 2013

Not sure where we will stay, probably POP unless a really good deal comes along.

I've been looking at ticket prices to flights from Brazil to Orlando :scared1: I'm still not sure if I should purchase the tickets now or wait for some kind of promotion after November.

DsyMama, I've decided for Port Orleans French Quarter, could you please update the list?! :surfweb:

Is it too early to start doing a day-to-day planner? Since I arrive on a Friday, I'll probably go to DTD that afternoon, go to HS on Saturday and AK on Sunday, avoiding MK weekend crowd. It'll be darn hard to wait three days to see the Castle!

I'm also thinking of booking Chef Mickey's for Saturday and Tusker for Sunday morning. How crowded is AK during the weekend?

Oh we've wanted to try Port Orleans!! I'll update it!

Everyone said the general 'rule of thumb' is 2-3 months out for airfare will give the cheapest price. 2 months ago the price was around $212 roundtrip and now - two weeks out from our supposed dates (looking at this year of course, not next) the prices are at $136 roundtrip! Unless I see prices in the $130-$150 range several months out, I'll be waiting and booking last minute I believe.... I think it is worth the risk - especially since we'll be paying for 4 fares since both kiddos will be over 2 and can't lap sit.

Definitely not too early!!!! The crowd calender is already out through January on touring plans! I'm anxious to see when the calendar will be our for February and March so I can plan which days I'm going where!!

Definitely thinking about ADRs here as well. We did the deluxe plan our first two trips and regular dining our last trip. We definitely prefer deluxe since we like to be able to eat three meals per day and have it all paid for and taken care of - eases the burden to know it is all paid for in advance. Regular DDP is much more affordable though and we'll probably stick to that for most of our trips. Since my mom is a disney newbie and can't wait to experience all of the wonderful food, we are doing the DxDDP this time :dance3:

We are doing to do Chef Mickey's (even though it gets 75% bad reviews regarding the food - it just is somewhere we want to try at least once) and Tusker as well for breakfast!! I think AK is safe on the weekend - MK is the most crowded on the weekend.

We arrive on a Monday and it will be a 1/2 day. We will probably do DTD as well and have dinner somewhere there - Raglan Rd maybe? Not sure.. Definitely hitting up MK the next day though!!!

From one DVC member to another...Welcome! You will LOVE it!!! :cheer2:

Thanks! I am "super excited" as DS 5 says. I'm trying to convince DH that we should go in October for the F&W Festival....just the two of us for our anniversary. He's not a Disney freak  like I am so I'm thinking 3 trips in 1 year may be too much for him.

What's your favorite resort and why?

First off, I am jealous that you could possibly do 3 Disney trips in one year! :worship: Heres Hoping your DH will learn to appreciate it as much as we all do. :goodvibes

As for my favorite resort.....I would have to say my all time favorite is the Polynesian because I LOVE the atmosphere and how close it is the MK. There is nothing like staying at the POLY with a MK view :cloud9:. As for a DVC resort, I have to pick my home resort BCV. I love the atmosphere there too and the location of the resort. Not to mention the beautiful pool. It is an easy walk to Epcot and to the BWV which is so pretty and fun at night. I think the best room layout has to go to OKW. ugh, they are all great! it really is hard to pick just one. but thats the beauty of DVC, you can try them all if you want. And with 3 trips per year, YOU CAN :woohoo:

Having so much fun with all the projects for this coming trip!!!

I bought my first sewing machine and it came today! I'm so excited to start learning!

I'am excited to start projects too!! I love being crafty.. I have quite the list already of thing I want to make my hubby thinks I've lost my mind hahaha tshirts, bags, lanyards, autograph books, passports books, soooo many fun things..
:cool1:

When should dates for feb start showing up?? We're hoping for the free dining plan too when does that usually pop up?

 Hooray for the one year mark!!!!!

I'm not quite there yet - but will be soon!!! We'd be on the one year anniversary of coming home from Disney is our original dates had worked - but we had to move to January 25 - March 5!

OooOoo I envy you - we dream of staying at the Poly one year - MK view! So beautiful  Added you to the list!!

Are you going late Jan to early Feb or late Feb to early March?

They announced the marathon dates and now I want to go late in the month of Jan instead so I will be overlapping into Feb :cool1: I went in Feb in 06 and loved it

I'm also hoping for Free Dining for my dates! Looking at this year dates, FD for February should be release around September/October.

I'm not crafty AT ALL. I don't have one creative bone in my body. Give me a computer and internet access and I'll do/find/discover anything you want me to but give me a needle of any kind and the most I'll accomplish is to poke myself with it! :rotfl:

Well I did it.....I was able to get DH to agree to a November 2012 trip in addition to our February 2013 trip. It will be just the two of us which will be a first for us.

I just sent in my deposit for POR, Feb 8 - 14. We're escaping home for Mardi Gras and using the kids school Mardi Gras break (plus two partial days that I'll pull them out).

Haven't been since 2006 and my youngest has never been. Now that I have a girl, I'm really looking forward to doing some princess things.

That's awesome, I'd love to do an adults only trip one day :lovestruc

I am actually really looking forward to it. When we take the kids we always end up saying stuff like "that would be nice to do when it's just us". I love our family vacations to Disney but really excited for a new experience. We will probably do the dining plan this time so we can eat at restaurants we normally would not take the kids. I hate to admit it but I have "those" kids....the ones who always seem to act up at restaurants. And as new DVC members this will be our first time staying in a resort other values or the campground.
