*~* Official February 2013 Thread *~*

No, it won't be that cold, but it looks like typical weather for Feb. is lower 70's with the low being in the 50's, so 50's in the morning, and night time but 70's during the day. I think that weather is great, but hopefully it will be warm enough for a couple pool trips. I take that weather over the sweltering heat like I just encountered in September!

I totally agree. September was HOT. I had at one point considered going in August one year but after the heat this trip, no way!

I know marathon weekend is Jan 10 - 13 (that's why i am going later in the month now, into Feb..) Is that the same thing as the princess half?

Princess Half Marathon was at the end of Feb this year so I am assuming it will be at the end again this year. I didn't know there were 2 different marathon weekends but just looked it up. Looks like the beginning of Jan is the first one and the other is the end of Feb.

Have you been in Jan/ Feb before? I can't really go off temps from this year because it was such a mild winter but I just don't want it to be too cold for a 6 month old. I don't mind jean/ T-shirt weather but I don't want to have to bundle everyone up.

We went the first week in Feb in 06 and it was high 70s, low 80s during the day - sweatshirts at night. It was perfect for us. That being said I know sometimes it can get quite a bit colder but it does seem rare that it gets very cold.

I now have tentative dates for Feb. 2nd to Feb. 8th, depending on Free Dining. I just hope that week is not excluded!

Here's hoping for FD for the week of 8-14!

I actually would like to go the week you are going but it was excluded this year fom Free Dining, but President's Day is pushed back later next year, so hopefully they will run Free Dining that week! I am waiting until the Free Dining promo comes out to see what dates are excluded, but that might be too late to make ADR's so not sure what to do!!

Pre-ordered my photopass CD today to save a few bucks before the price increase. If anyone is thinking about whether or not they should buy the Photopass CD, it's best to decide before March 20. Paying $129 is totally NOT on my budgets spreadsheet!

Being two weeks before President's Day and looking at this years crowd calendar as a reference, I'd say reservations for the restaurants won't be that hard to schedule if you wait for FD promo codes to show up. Possibly Be Our Guest might be out of tables because the newness of it but even Ohana and Le Cellier might have tables by late September/early October.

180 days from this specific week starts on August 12, so with any luck they'll release the codes a little earlier this year *dumps a bucket of pixie dust at this wish :wizard:*. But I'll purchase the DDP even if we don't have free dinning, it's just so easier to have everything prepaid and not to worry about anything but tips.

My ADRs so far are:

February 8: Ohana 8:30PM
February 9: Tusker House 8AM
February 10: Be Our Guest 7PM (first day at MK and really want to see Wishes, otherwise I'd push this one to 9PM. If this turns out to be an evening EMH I will change it to 9:45)
February 11: Tutto Italia 7PM.
February 12: 50s Prime Time 2PM
February 13: Coral Reef at 9PM

February 14 we won't have DDP but we will be at Magic Kingdom and plan to have breakfast over at Sleepy Hallow to try the new waffle!

We are also doing dinner at Chef Mickey's on the 24th at 7pm as way to say goodbye to the characters and Disney.

I didn't know they were increasing prices! Do you think the CD is worth it? I have never ordered one before but I am glad you mentioned that there will be an increase so I can decide before then!

I have never used it before (my first and only trip was 12 years ago!) but I am my family's official photographer and if I don't buy the CD, I'll probably be on maybe a half a dozen of pictures, if that! I have a semi-pro camera and my mom is very afraid of going anywhere near it.

As long as you like to take pictures and take time to find (and wait if there's a line) the official photographers, I think it is worth it. They are easy to spot and if I'm not mistaken the maps do show where you will mostly like find them.

You can fit up to 700 pics in one CD and with all the frames and special borders you can add to a picture, even if you take only 150 pics during your visit you can still end up with at least 400 different pictures before you order your CD. And they have some really cute pictures called Magic Photo where you take a picture and they add a character to it.

Take a look at http://www.stitchkingdom.com/disneysphotopass/ for more info.

Well, I think pricing just sealed the deal for us! Many of our days would be "peak" season if we do Feb/March - but all value 1 if we do Jan/Feb! January 28-February 5 - here we come  Planning AoA as long as the expected free dining promo is available to people staying there!

Bummer that AoA isn't included in the free dining this time, hopefully it will be in February.

I cannot stop the back and forths with where we are staying lol As of today I started considering ASMusic suites.

Has anyone started a February Facebook page? I was undecided between Jan. and Feb. so I checked out the Jan. thread and they have a Facebook page so they can post their ADR's and stuff on there. Thought it was a good idea!

Sure, I'll start a group, PM me your facebook and I will add you.

I am late Jan/early Feb so I am on that page too.

February group is up. I have it set to secret so you cannot see it unless you are a member.

Bought some Mickey hand soap today when I was at Target.. it's the little things that make me :)

Thank you so much for starting up the FB page!

I was looking at the soap at Target too, but haven't bought it yet. I like getting things like that to hold me over until the next trip! :yay:

Bought new luggage yesterday. Not a very good idea because now I'm itching to start a packing list!

What do you guys think of Ohana? Opinions seems to diverge on this particular restaurant, they either love or hate it.

Oh, please add me to the FB group, Lucy Batochio.
