Perfectly Dopey... 917 Remain
So,
@DopeyBadger ask me to look at legacy Dopey runners quite a while ago, but I just finally got around to it. I wasn't really sure if I should post this here or in the 2016 Dopey thread, but I decided here since this is the currently active Dopey thread.
In any case, based on my analysis, there are approximately 917 runners who are still perfectly Dopey after three years of the event (2014-2016). I have attached the list of names below. Please note that this list is likely not 100% accurate. Although the analysis was pretty robust, there is only so much data to go on, so there are a few cases in which names might be on the list that shouldn't be or names that aren't on the list that should be. Here are the two main circumstances where there could be a problem:
-
Last Name Changes/Misspellings: the last name is the key data item that I filter on first, so although I completely test for first name nicknames and misspellings, there is no good way to test for last name changes or misspellings; therefore, the last name must be identical across all three years for the name to appear on the list.
-
Common Full Names: really common first and last name combinations could result in a name being on the list that shouldn't be. For example, if the full name John Smith appears for all three years, but it wasn't the same John Smith each year, it is possible that this name may get onto the list when it shouldn't. I do check for this to a certain extent, but it's not perfect.
