***Official DLR December 2021 Check-in Thread***

We are planning a short stopover before we head to Aulani and will be at the VGC from December 18th to the 21st. I am so excited to be going back. I grew up going to DL since my aunt lived really close. We have only taken our kiddos once in 2014 and haven't had a chance to make it back.

DH, DD18, and DD15 and I are currently sitting at the GCH’s Craftsman Bar and deciding on our next visit. We are thinking either December or January, so I’m jumping into this thread to watch for inspiration. We are staying at GCH this time and I’d love to stay here again, but our eldest is off to college in NY in the fall and GCH may feel like too much of a splurge on top of tuition so we may opt for our favorite Harbor hotel of Park Vue Inn. We shall see!

YAY! Officially booked December 12-17 at Disneyland Hotel. Flights from Boston to LAX on JetBlue were insanely cheap - $306pp - so I really couldn't say no. I'm so excited; I haven't been to DLR since 1999 and have no idea what I'm doing so this will be an adventure for sure! (I've been to WDW so many times, I could probably navigate all four park blindfolded lol) So while I will be scouring these boards to learn all I can, don't hesitate to give me all your tips and tricks, especially for all the holiday fun!

Great rate! I had been on the lookout for ours for what seemed like forever, booked it finally at $227 a person through AA, direct flight. We tend to fly SW but since flights alone are always so pricey for our family of six, I felt VERY excited to find them so cheap…hopefully I don’t regret it lol

$227 is AMAZING!! Where are you flying in from? I used to fly SW when I lived closer to Providence, but for some reason unknown to me, SW has very few direct flights from Boston to anywhere. (There's usually a stop or layover in Baltimore.) If I'm flying across the country, I just want to GET THERE. Lol

I was actually surprised since direct flights tend to be from either Houston or Dallas usually, but this one is from San Antonio. I had checked to see if flying to SNA would be cheaper than LAX, but that was much higher than I thought it'd be, even with the addition of transportation from and to LAX. With 4 kids, I'm like you, the less traveling and stops we have to do, the better! lol

I am almost 120 days for my tickets and reservations! I also have a trip in October that between tickets, reservations, and food reservations…..it is crazy to keep track of!!

I am getting close too! What time do I need to get on to make park reservations?

Thanks, that is what I am thinking. I am on the East Coast so I should be fine!

Just made our park reservations today! I had my alarm set for early morning but didn't actually get to making them until later in the day. Keeping an eye out for dining reservations now...I checked the calendar and, it looks like, we still have just shy of two months until we can make those 🤷‍♀️ Really have my heart set on Minnie & Friends but I'm sure those are going to be tough to find 😓

Glad you got your reservations, is it one day at a time? I can start mine tomorrow. I have checked every day!

i had to make mine one day at a time using a link through my hotel reservations (Staying at GCH).

If you have a package reserved (GCH + parkhoppers) that isn't paid off, do you still get to make park reservations? My reservation on the app says I can start making park reservations Aug 10, but my final payment on the package isn't due until Nov.

yes you can! I have only put down the deposit and my final payment isn’t due until October 29. I made all my park reservations last week. I’m not paying it off until last minute just because of the uncertainty. If I do cancel though I will have to go in and cancel all the park reservations too.

Oh, thank you!! That makes me very happy :)

I have another question for you: were you able to make reservations for all of your days at once, or did you have to do them one at a time each day? I read that WDW lets you make them all at the same time but I don't know how DLR does it.

I had to do them one day at a time but there were no issues with availability. I still see my days open for both parks. I just set a reminder on my outlook work calendar so when I signed in each morning that was the first thing I did. 😆

Same! I had to do them one day at a time, but I could have easily waited until my last trip date was available to make reservations for all at the same time.

Also wanted to add, I had read a while back to get on as early as possible to make the reservations, idk if that info is still floating around, but it’s definitely not necessary. I had previously tried very early in the morning and the page was giving me all kinds of errors and not loading. Later in the day I tried again, got in no problem. Did the same after that, and, again, no issues when done later in the day.

Does anyone have any guesses as to whether or not they'll offer some version of the Passholder/Disney Card Rate they always had in the fall? Probably iffy this year, but I'm holding out a bit of hope.

Just saw this bit in this week's Mice Chat update - strictly rumor at this point but they are sometimes accurate! Oh I hope this is true!!

Hmm, this is interesting. Normally I would love a holiday party, but since I already have a 5 day ticket and have booked my days, I'm just thinking about how this will affect that. From the picture it seems like it might be in DCA? But also from that link it says parade and fireworks may be holiday party only, so that makes me think Disneyland. I have to be honest I hope it's only a rumor this year.
