I would like to remove my husband who has died from a contract and add my children. My husband and I are listed as joint tenants with rights of survivorship. That shouldn’t be a problem should it?

So while this is not legal advice, and you should check with an attorney in your state, joint tenants with rights of survivorship means the deed has automatically transferred to you upon his death.

Your children are a separate issue however, but thought the first issue might be helpful to you. Sorry for your loss!

I am sorry for your loss.

Just a note that I would strongly recommend asking the kids if they want to be put on the deed and having a conversation about everything that comes with the obligation of being on the deed.

It can create complications if it ever comes to divorce, creditors issues, early death, etc. Also, it can create family complications when it comes to things like paying dues in the future, etc.
