Official Disneyland ½ Marathon & 5k

Proof of time should include name of race, year, distance and time finished (i.e. 2011 Disneyland® Half Marathon - 2:25). If you do not have a proof of time to submit, list "N/A" at the point of registration. Proof of time must be provided from a race 10K or longer. All forms of proof of time must be from a race after July 1, 2011. If you do not provide proof of time you will be placed in the last start corral.

If you do not provide proof of time at the point of registration or acquire it after you have registered, then email this information to disneysports@trackshack.com before September 1, 2012. After September 1, 2012, you will need to bring proof of your estimated finish time to the Runner Relations booth at Disney's Health & Fitness Expo if you wish to have your start corral placement changed. If you listed a race result as proof of time when registering online, then you do not have to do anything further.

Thanks for the information! Just submitted my time. :thumbsup2

Sure- happy to help! :) I did just get an automated reply saying my message had been received, but I will be sure to keep you all posted!

You will LOVE running a runDisney half-- they are SO much fun! :) I also want to run the W&D sometime, but I think I'm going to stick with two events per year max, as the travelling does get costly. Looking forward to getting my coast to coast when we finish the DL half this year as well! :cool1:

Here's a pic of the medal from last year:

This was a new medal last year and would think it would be the same from now on. It even comes w/ the little shiny blings!!:rotfl2: The 1st 4 years was the castle which was cool, then for the 5th anniversary, they had a huge 5 w/ the running Mickey logo.

That looks AWESOME! Thanks so much for sharing-- can't wait!! (Love the little shiny blings too ;) )

I just finished the Princess last Sunday. I had a great time. Now I can start to focus on DL. Does anyone know about how many people run in the half? I am really looking forward to running in DL and the fact I can just walk there from hotel.

I love it!!!!!

I do too! I like it, b/c it's kinda of retro-ish with the DL Style D, and you still get a little castle in it.

Read an article Mon. that said that they added 2,000 spots this year and that there are 17,000 entrants. But that being said, last year there were just under 13,000 that finished and it sold out as well @ 15,000.

Thanks for the info. That is roughly the same amount of people that ran the Princess. It gives me an idea of how packed it will be.

I ahead thought the Princess was 18,000 this year, but then at the start they announced 20K. I haven't looked to see how many finished. Is it normal for more than 10% to DNF?

Wow! My sisters and I got caught up in the Princess Expo Rundisney booth and signed up for the Disneyland 1/2!
This will be my 2nd Disneyland 1/2 - I did it last year and had a great time.
So now we are going for our "Coast to Coast to Coast". Tink/Princess/DL 1/2's.
I really wish they had a medal for that! HAHAHAHA!!! :rotfl:

That makes two of us since I'm doing the exact same thing with the Tink/Princess/DL halfs!

I'm apparently officially walking the half. Not because I can't run but because my trainer thinks this will be better for me and will hopefully improve my time. My friend who will be doing her first half much to my relief is perfectly fine with this change of plans and will be adjusting her training schedule as such (she lives in CA and follows a different plan, don't know which though).

And all I can say about the registration number allowed being bigger is I hope they learned from the Tink on how to properly manage corrals, that was horrible last years. Since I was getting a photo with my charity group I didn't get over until fairly close to start time and there was no way to get back to the later corrals. Really hope RunDisney learned something from Tink considering how much better those were laid out.

I loved the Race Retreat at the Princess Half Marathon, it made the morning so stress free and the post race food was just what I needed - is there something similar at the Disneyland Half?

I just booked my stay at Best Western Stovall Inn. Anyone familiar with this hotel and if it's "walkable" race morning? I went on their site and couldnt not book the $99 AAA rate per night.....

Yes, it's totally walkable! That's where I am staying and I stayed there for Tink as well.

You just cross Katella and head right up Disneyland Drive to the corralls.

It's a nice hotel and they open the breakfast room at 4:00 on race morning so you can grab a banana and peanut butter or what ever else you want. :thumbsup2

Awesome thank you for the quick reply!

I have a question. This is my first half marathon. Do a lot of people wear disney themed costumes for the Disneyland Marathon

Yes, they do.

I have run 3 Disney races but just dressed up for the Tink Half. It was so much fun and I got so many compliments on my costume.

My mom held that sign along the course so it was easy to spot her as I ran by.

I think I'm going to dress as Ariel for the Disneyland Half.

Just wanted to update on the process of e-mailing runDisney if you have a time to submit for corral placement. I e-mailed about 2-3 weeks ago, and after having gotten an immediate computer response saying they received my e-mail, I just got an e-mail back from someone today confirming that they recorded my time and I was all set. So be patient- it may take a while, but it appears that you will get a response from someone when they do actually note the time.

While you definetly don't have to dress up for Disney races, I think it makes it all the more special.

Here's what I wore for the Princess 1/2 this year:

Have fun and dress up!

The best "official" number that I could get my hands on was just short of 19,500 registered for the Princess Half Marathon (1,247 were men).

Of the registered runners, right at 17,200 started the race.
