Mmmm, i honesly am not sure about this whole name change thing ... It will always be known as MGM to me..

The new name is pretty bland, but at least it's not "Wha-a-a?" like the old one. Outside of a marketing deal, there was never a clear reason why Disney would feature a competing studio. And the reference to Hollywood makes the park's theming and architecture explicit (or it would if the SuperHat was removed to restore the beautiful vista down the street to the Chinese Theater).
