"Official" Disney Homeschool Days @ Epcot Thread

This is thread to discuss all things Disney and Homeschool/Unschool.
Who's going? What are your plans? Have you been for HD before?

I homeschool our three angel~babies who are
11 1/2 (he insists I use the 1/2) and 5 and 5. They all love Diney World and can't wait until January!!!

Here is our plan:

We are driving from Asheville, NC to WDW early Friday morning the 11th and arriving that evening. We are staying that night at Comfort Suites Maingate and checking out the next morning and going to SeaWorld for the first time Saturday and Sunday. Sat. we are checking into our townhome for the week. Monday we are spending at Epcot for the HSD and attending the Ocean Discoveries program with my oldest son. Tuesday will also be spent at Epcot HSD and my oldest is attending the Everyday Chemistry program. We are very excited about both of the programs
Wed, Thurs, and Friday we are going to MK, MGM, and AK. Sat. the 19th we are shopping at DTD and the WDW outlet store Then we will be heading towards home and staying the night in St. Augustine. Sunday we will check out the ocean and go to Ripley's Believe It or Not (hopefully it won't be too weird for the 5 year olds...) and then finish our drive home

I can't wait to hear from fellow homeschooling DISers and discuss DHDAE

www.disneyhomeschooldays.com is the official thread. It is January 14&15 at Epcot. The have Youth Education Series speakers and programs homeschoolers and their families can attend. You get discounted rates for the day. It apparantly is set up behind the public areas of Epcot those 2 days.

I don't know why their site is down, but luckily I have the phone number I remember that the beginning of Jan. was the last to buy tickets so I would call today!

*Just a note...when I originally wanted to buy tickets, the website was down and they said they COULD NOT sell them over the phone because this was the first time they have sold to individuals, it's always groups only, so they have no way of taking CC info or anything...just business checks. So, I would call today because it may take days to get the system back up like it did when I called a couple of months ago, and I think, but not sure, the deadline was the 6th.

Thanks so much for the phone number. The site is so busy, you just have to keep trying. I got the kiddies registered! Can't wait

I'm so glad you got through and got the kids registered. Did you purchase tickets for the parks or just the homeschool days? Did you register for the speaker series only or any programs?

I've yet to find anyone registered for the same classes as us. It would be neat to have a fellow DISer in a program we attend.
