I called this number BoardWalk Inn* 407-939-2393 from this thread http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=40915753&postcount=2401

to request a cake for delivery at CBR and I get a recording saying "This number or code is incorrect, check and try again".

Is there an updated number/email address that I missed? Thanks!

That is the old thread. The most recent info is in Post #2 of this thread, however you cannot call BoardWalk Bakery directly to order for anyplace other than the BoardWalk Resort and its restaurants (as explained in Post #2 of this thread). You need to call the number for CBR to place the order and they will work with BWB to get the cake. If you call BWB directly they will say they don't deliver to CBR. :thumbsup2

My son will be turning two, and I was thinking about ordering the standard mickey head shaped cake. Has anyone tried this cake before? I was wondering about the taate of it. Is it dry? TIA

Most people report that it's very moist. It's full of mousse. :thumbsup2

Here's the cake my husband designed for me for our 25th anniversary and my birthday.

Cute cake!

Back a couple of weeks ago from our trip for our 20th anniversary. Ordered a cake from Pat at the Grand Floridian for Narcoossee's. Pat was great. She took a day or so to call back when we were playing phone tag, but was very receptive to what I was wanting. I emailed her pictures and two ideas for an UP themed cake. I wanted it to include the house, since we just bought a house, and it's similar to the UP house. Wanted it to either have the mailbox, or for it to have the balloons on top of Paradise Falls. After discussing with the chefs what they could do, Pat got back to me and said we were a go. It was an 8" fondant covered marble cake with chocolate butter cream frosting/filling. YUMMY!!

Price was $175 plus tax/tip. Absolutely worth every penny!

Absolutely amazing cake! I agree, worth every cent!

I knew I was missing something. Thanks.

I've been communicating (via the email address on page 1) with a CM to get a cake delivered to our Plaza lunch on 9/20. I wanted a white cake, with vanilla buttercream frosting, and strawberry mousse filling, a 2D stand-up image of Snow White, lots of flowers, butterflies if possible, and sparkles. The image and colors they use, and the decorations on the sides I left up to the pastry team. I sent some inspiration pics that I worked up and we priced out three options:

a mini cake with a 2D stand-up image on the plate $70,

a 4-layer 6-inch cake with the image on top $80,

and a 2-layer 8-inch cake with the image on top and a sparkly backdrop (it's a 6-inch cake in the pic, because that's what I happened to have saved) $67.

She told me that the fruit mousse filling is $5 extra and the 2D stand-up image costs $30, on top of the cake cost. The 8-inch cake is less expensive because we are only doing two layers, vs the four that were necessary with the 6-inch cake because of all the decorations I wanted. There are only three of us, so I opted for the 2-layer 8-inch cake. I love the sparkly background behind Snow White and I know DD will too. We'll just box up the extra cake and take it home, since we're getting it near the end of our trip.

I am still left with the "problem" of the weird ADR times, but I'll work that out. Right now we have Crystal Palace at 8:05, a FP+ for BOG at 2:00, and the Plaza at 3:05. I'm going to keep trying for a later Plaza ADR but if I don't get it, we'll just go to BOG earlier and treat it as a snack. We aren't on the DDP so we don't have credits to use up. We'll just play it by ear. ;)

Thanks for sharing this detailed info! It's eye-opening to see a $70 minicake juxtaposed with a $67 8-inch cake. Kinda makes me rethink my minicake obsession... :teeth:

LOL but the minicakes are SO DARN CUTE! ;)

Going into the ordering process, I was leaning towards the mini cake. That's the one that kept jumping out at me. For basically the same amount of money though, I just had to go with the 8-inch and the extra chocolate on top LOL. Of course I'll post pics of what we actually end up with. It might not look anything like my mock-ups if they decide to take creative liberty with the design. :scratchin

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to let you all know that I am now on a new assignment within the Contemporary Bakery. The cake team has just as much talent though and I will still be there to assist them if needed but your in good hands. Thanks for giving me all your fun and unique ideas to work on the last 5 years!

Chef,

We had the pleasure of enjoying one of your mini cakes last December at Cinderella's Royal Table and it was one of the best cakes we have ever had. You are truly talented in your baking skills. Just wanted to wish you the best on your new endeavors.

We are staying next summer, a party of 12, at the CR in a one bedroom suite and a two bedroom suite. We are celebrating six birthdays during our stay and I had hoped to have at least three or four of them done by the CR bakery team. One will be my sister's 50th birthday at Cali Grill and I was hoping to do an elaborate cake for her. I am so disappointed that I will never be able to get a Chef Brian cake but I do wish you all the best at your new assignment.

We usually deal with the Yacht & Beach Club bakery team. I hope I'll have as pleasant an experience with CR as I usually have with them.

Has anyone had a cake done with a special figurine on top that you have supplied? My daughter decided she'd like an Alice cake, so I was thinking something with fun colors and possibly an Alice figurine on top that I would bring and hopefully the CM could put on top of the cake before the cake comes out? Is that something that the bakeries/CMs will do?:confused3

Best Wishes in your new position!

My family still raves about the tools/toolbox cake you made for my dad in summer 2010 and the snowman cake you made for my mom in early 2012. :)

These resorts are not Disney owned, so you must call them directly. Call 407-934-1614 to place an order at least 48 hours in advance :)

Thank you. I want to try and recreate a small version of my wedding cake for our 10th anniversary. I chose Shula's because DH loves a good steak.

Before I get too carried away with my planning I am wondering if you can confirm if I have this right.

The little cupcakes from the wedding collection can be special ordered from the GF or Contemporary ? So if we are eating at Ohana's and Chef Mickey's we should be able to get them ? These ones I am meaning.

For Boatwright at POR we order threw POR and it is the Boardwalk Bakery that will make the cake ?

And for Coral Reef can we order the Mini Cakes or just large ones ?

I am going to ask if I can get 2 of these made into Mini Cakes and if not we will ask for one like the one I saw on here with one princess dress on one side and another on the other side. It is for 2 girls who one has a B-day just before we arrive and one has one just after we leave.

What do those princess cakes cost?

I have been reading this thread for months now but I'm still a little confused. I want to order a custom 6 in cake for our anniversary to be delivered to our room GF. Do I call the cake hot line number or the number for GF private dining??

I don't want fondant. Thinking of a scene from Up-- Carl & Ellie laying in the grass looking up at the clouds. I'm hoping for just a screen print of them laying flat on the top of the cake, with flowers/ grass surrounding the image. Maybe a banner with " celebrating 35 years of adventure". DH loves chocolate cake & frosting so I'd like that, but could go with colored or white buttercream.

Is a 6 in big enough to have an image like that laying on it? Thanks!!
