Opinions needed please. Would it be better to have a cake delivered to our room for our anniversary (we are staying at the Contemporary) or at Cape May on our anniversary? Not even sure if one can be delivered there. Also, this is for the end of September so when should I start the process?
Thanks in advance.

To have a cake delivered at Cape May, try Yacht Club...

To have a cake delivered to your room at Contemporary - call the infamous: Chef Bri.

I was kind of in the same boat. You can get a cake done by YC/BC Private Dining to get at Cape May. I decided to have it delivered to us in room at CR because if we had leftovers at Cape May there was really no way to get it back to the room since we are going to DHS after dinner and then it would go to waste. Otherwise I was going to do it at dinner so it could be presented which I think my kids would love.

I contacted Chef Brian and finally ordered the cake 3 weeks before our trip. We will find out how it turns out in just over 2 weeks :cool1:

We had LOTS of leftovers and had fun passing out plates of cake to the people around us!!

I just received an email!!! I sent an email to Brian at the Contemporary on Sunday, asking for his help with a cake at our Sanaa dinner. I guess he was not able to do it for us, but he forwarded my email to another chef, who has contacted me. I'm so happy! This new chefs name is Andreas Born and he works at DHS - he asked that I send him an email with my ideas - Can't wait!

Anyway, I'm going to call and leave a message with the original chef at AKL and let her know that I will no longer be requiring her services, but my question is this - I already spoke with someone else and gave them my credit card information for the first cake (which is now being canceled). I was transfored to this person, so I don't know what department it was. Does anyone know who I should call to make sure my credit card doesn't get charged?

TIA

Where will the cake be delivered??? If you deliver it to you while you are eating at a restaurant, they add it to your meal bill.... so it's not billed until then --- if it delivers to a room, i don't know when/how they bill for that.

Hi everyone! Im trying to figure out: Can you have a fancy, fondant covered cake delivered to an EPCOT restaurant?? I would like it to be delivered to Les Chefs de France. Please, please let me know if this is possible! :worship: Also, if you could provide the number that I need to call to order this that would be fantastic! Thanks so much!!! :thumbsup2

YES!!! I had a fondant cake delivered to us at Coral Reef on July 17 - it was done by Yacht Club --- here's the cake we had for our anniversary...

My hubby and I are celebrating our 8 year anniversary when we are in Disney. Our first night is at Flying Fish. We are thinking of ordering a mini wedding cake from Boardwalk Bakery. Do I call them directly or call the main line?? Thanks in advance for the help!!!

When you call the mainline it gives you options to push numbers to correspond with where you want it delivered --- and eventually you end up speaking directly to the bakery who will do your cake...

The cake was for our dinner at Sanaa. I gave Disney my cc number to "hold" the cake reservation, though they told me they would not charge it until the day of, or we could just pay cash the day of. I just want to call and let them know just incase - I know my DH won't be happy if we get home, and find a charge on the card, and have to call a million places to get it retracted.

Your cake looks great!! Thanks for the info! How far in advance should I order? (We are going in February 2012)

Quick question. Does anyone know if the restaurant will supply candles or do we have to bring our own?

BTW love this thread and so thankful for all the useful info on here. I can't wait to post pics of the cake I order!!

The cake I ordered for dinner at Narcoossee's came out with candles already lit. At CRT, the slipper dessert and cupcake came out with candles and they lit it and sang happy birthday :)

I'm trying to figure out where to eat and where to get a cake from for my mother's 58th birthday in December. We don't need anything super fancy, just a small cake ordered at the podium would do! Does anyone have any idea where the best cakes like that are? Or are they all the same?

Friday I sent a message to Customer Service re my dissatisfaction with the way the cake hot line operates. Well first thing this morning I got a call back from them! I am impressed with the quick response. I told them that in my experience and based on some of what I have read here, the cake hot line people are not properly trained and do not have the tools to help the public make the proper choices. She said she would have someone call me directly to help with my order and she would pass my comments on. I was certain to make sure I told her everyone had been very nice, just not Disney quality helpful. I hope my comments help them make this experience better for others. Now I just need to see if someone does actually call me back!

Does anyone know if they would customize a 6 inch cake with a screen print? I am taking dd14 to CRT to celebrate her birthday and I was thinking of ordering her a cake with a screen print of simba and nala saying " Have a wild birthday" or something to that extent. I am also opting for a screen print to keep it within budget since I am not looking for something elaborate for just the two of us. If they won't do a screen print do you think they would do a stand up cut out like I have seen on other 6 inch cakes in this thread?

They can't screen print any cake smaller than 8 inches, but they can do a screen print on white chocolate and stand it up on the cake. Be sure you call the Contemporary's Private Dining to order this and have it delivered to CRT—CRT doesn't have the capability to make custom cakes. Complete info is HERE.

Thank you lurkyloo!!!!

No problem! :goodvibes

Call the Yacht & Beach Club's Private Dining at 407-934-3105

Hi
I,m wondering would they put a mickey and minnie wedding cake topper on as anniversary cake ?? was it ever done ???
this would be my first choice ( as an anniversary cake ) ...or an edible print of mickey and minnie ( wedding ) ?? this thread as so many pages I wouldnt know where to start ..
if you had one done can you show it to me it would be a small cake ( 6-8 inches ) for a few people .
I guess Lurkyloo the cake expert would probably know that :)
thanks

The Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings Mickey & Minnie cake topper can be ordered from the Disney Florist, and then you can work with them and the bakery (via Private Dining) to have it put on your cake. Alternatively, the Grand Floridian Bakery has a white chocolate Mickey & Minne topper available for $15.

Transportation would be easier if you had it delivered straight to your room. Info is HERE. 2 weeks to 3 days is a good lead time.

They don't charge you til you get the bill at the end of the night.

The restaurant supplies them.

The podium cakes all taste the same. :thumbsup2

:teeth: No problem! I just have an unhealthy obsession with cake, that's all...

I just found this thread and learned that one can have cakes made and delieved and such!! How fun!! Forgive me if this has been asked before as I am unsure of how it all works, my little family of 3 will be havng dinner at Ohana on are arrival date next month which happens to be DH birthday and I would love to surprize him with a small cake. Will they deliver a cake to Ohana? Or if I just want a small cake can I order one that night when we check in for dinner?
