Interested in a princess cake for daughter’s 5th Bday. Does anyone know if I have to supply the princess figures for the cake, or if they are available through the bakery? We are staying at the Contemporary, but will be having dinner at CRT. Thanks.

You know, I just contacted them about a cake for May, and they said they can do custom 6-inch cakes now! :hyper: As for flavors, you'll definitely need to check with them to see what's available. They definitely can do more than the standard choc/vanilla/marble, though.

It's this...

WHAT?!?! I'm so calling and changing my order!

We are staying at Saratoga, and I would really like to have a small cake waiting for my girls when we check in. I'm wondering if its possible, and who I would contact about this. I'm looking to get two of the second cake on the site below - but with Minnie.

TIA!

Also - Who is Pat that everyone is ordering these cakes from? Do they have a website????

As TDC Nala said, they can't leave anything for you before you check in. Pat is the contact at Private Dining for the Grand Floridian. When you call the Cake Hotline, you will be routed to the appropriate person for the resort/park where you want the cake. There is no web site of available cake options at Walt Disney World and no email for ordering. This thread is the best resource for seeing what people have had in the past. :thumbsup2

It seems like the people who've had plastic figures on their cakes have provided them and that the bakery doesn't keep any on hand.

Can't wait to see what you get! :hyper:

Thanks so much for the information! I'm thinking of having a small cake for my girls at our dinner at CRT - Can someone please provide me the phone number to call for it? My girls are going to flip out!!!!! Me too....:cloud9:

ETA - I just spoke to the famous PAT! LOL She told me that they only do cakes for GF and the Poly - Neither place are we going to eat at this trip. I asked her about something I had seen on here - the white chocolate figurene on a little pedastool. She said that I could order it from the bakery at the Boardwalk - but I'd have to pick it up myself, and they are $30 each!!!! I'd rather get my girls a gift for that $$$. Oh well - it was a nice thought!

Im looking for info for ordering my DD 4th bday cake for our up coming trip. I know this question has more then likely been answered before but there are too many pages to read through.

I was talking to a woman from the cake hotline for CRT, thats where we will be having her bday dinner. And she told me that i need to order a custom cake from the contemp. bakery for CRT. Has anyone had one from here? Are they good? she said that delivery is free, which is great but i want to make sure they make good cakes. I want a chocolate cake with vanilla filling, marble ganache and standing princess decor either cinderella or rapunzel if they do it.

Also, she said they have pre-made cakes at CRT, are these any good or am i better off doing a custom cake.

The other option she said was the mickey head cake which ive read on here is really good.

Any info would be great!

All the cakes made by Disney are made from the same recipes, so they all taste the same. The Contemporary is known for producing elaborate, attractive cakes, so you're in good hands.

It depends—do you like supermarket cake? I do, but I know some people think these cakes are blah.... Also, you won't be able to have any customization with the pre-made cakes.

People do seem to like the Mickey cakes. They are covered in ganache and come in a choice of chocolate or vanilla cake with chocolate mousse inside, so that might be sort of like what you were going for with your custom idea, but less expensive ($48 vs $75 or $100).

Has anyone had a cake delivered to POFQ??

When we're there in June it will be my mom's birthday/father's day/ 30th wedding anniversary for my parents.

We're doing 3 days at POFQ (one day will be at Universal), 3 days at Disney's Vero Beach, and our last night at Poly CL. My brother works in the Orlando area so we visit often but this is the first time we'll be going to WDW but not to the parks.

We will have TIW not the DDP. We will probably only do one Disney TS restaurant the night before VB.

Has anyone experienced having a cake delivered to POFQ (or any of the moderates)?
If we do a TS restaurant before Vero, it will probably be Captains Grill or possibly Kona both of which I know have bakeries that I can order from.

TIA!!!!!

You need to call the Contemporary bakery to get cakes for CRT.

PO is serviced by the BoardWalk Bakery (but you place your order with POFQ using the Cake Hotline) so you can get anything BB makes, including fancy cakes. You would pick it up at the food court there.

If you do Kona and you want a fancy cake, you'll need to call private dining at the GF. If you call the Cake Hotline and follow prompts for Kona, you will get the Poly Bakery, which only does basic chocolate/vanilla/marble cakes or the Mickey head cake.

I called and alas, they said they can't do 6 inch. Oh well. I told the nice CM I talked to to come by CRT and get a big piece of cake, lmao!

Weird... Did you speak to the pastry chef or just the person who answers the phone? Because I asked the chef about this just a few days ago and was told I could get a 6-inch custom cake.

Thanks for the help!!! When it gets closer, I'll have to give them a call and see what I would like!

I wonder if this doesn't change based on expected production / workload for any given night. Perhaps they are willing to do more non-standard cakes on dates they are not expecting to have to create a lot of cakes? I can only imagine there are only so many orders they can take at a time.

:confused3

Question for the cake gurus; If we were having dinner at the Yatchsman Steakhouse can I get a cake delivered there? (I'm thinking so, but not 100%) Would I call Yacht & Beach Club to order? And (last one) does anyone have that number?

TIA :wizard:

Me too. I have read through some of this thread and I think I know what I want to do. I am hoping you guys can tell me if this is possible before I call WDW. We are having breakfast at Ohana the day my daughter will turn 4. I think I want a pink mini wedding cake delivered to the restaurant. I think.

These run about $25-$35 right? We are a party of 4. Our baby is too small to eat cake. I am on a dairy free diet so I won't be able to have any. So it will just be the 4 year old and my husband who eat the cake. The mini cake should be fine, right? I hear the allergy cakes aren't very good so I don't want to make her have that for her birthday just for me to join in the eating.

Who do I call to set this up?

Thank you!

Whats the number for GF private dining?

The mini wedding cake will be fine for 2, and with just buttercream frosting it should be somewhere in that price range. Call 407-824-1951.
