i've looked at pictures of the dark chocolate slipper and was just wondering what that square thing it sits on top of is?
Thanks! I called this number and left a message. Pat returned my call this morning and set us up with a chocolate mini wedding cake with pink buttercream frosting to be at Ohana. The cost was $35 and I was asked to pay by credit card over the phone this morning. She said I would pay the tip at Ohana.
Thanks for your help!
OK, one more cake question for you guys!
I browsed some of the picture links on the first page of this thread. I really like the second tinker bell one with green fondant and the chocolate statue.
I talked with the cake specialist today and got the speech about the custom cakes only being 10 inches or greater (ordering from Yacht and Beach Club for a dinner at Captain's Grille). There will be 3 adults and 1 preschooler. She said a 10 inch serves 16, and I just can't imagine that we need a cake that big!! So, my questions are:
1 - Can they custom decorate one of the standard 6 or 8 inch cakes with fondant, decorations, etc?
2 - Are the 6 and 8 inch cakes good? I hear some people talk about dry cake that they can't even eat. I don't want to spend a lot of money on a cake that is no good. If the 6 or 8 inch is going to be bad, I might prefer to spend money on a bigger cake and just box it up and take it home (was thinking marble with white choclate mousse)

OK got it
again - this was a 10 inch cake, white cake, not sure now if it was white chocolate or vanilla buttercream. For some reason I am thinking it was white chocolate. Bavarian creme filling but it was supposed to be white chocolate mousse - they messed up on that. And the total 2 years ago was 80.00
I'm confused, no surprise there though. I thought the Polynesian was served by the Contemporary Pastry Chefs. We have reservations for 'Ohana on our first night and I was hoping to order a cake from Chef Brian.

I have been reading through this thread, seeing different things and getting ideas. I have a couple of questions before I call the Cake Hotline.
First if it is possible I would need the cake for dinner at CRT on Tuesday, April 26...do I still have enough time to order something?
Second I am looking for something similar to the cake pictured below that I saw here on the thread. I would like it if possible to be a little smaller and minus the castle piece standing up. I would like to be flat with the fireworks/mickey heads on the sides to continue up onto the top of the cake.
I know I only have a few days to work with, but was just able to finally get the reservation at CRT today after trying for what seems like forever. If anyone here could please let me know what they think...

Its a type of angel food cake I believe.
I ordered a Cinderella's slipper for my daughter last year @ CRT. The 'pillow' the chocolate shoe sits on is just baked phillo dough.
Thanks so much!
I doubt this is possible, but thought I'd ask anyway: is it possible to get a dark chocolate slipper served with the white chocolate plate of food? I'm not really interested in that cake the dark sits on, nor the fruit as a mousse is more special in my my opinion.
Does anyone know if you can get the mini Cinderella castle cake at Poly? We're staying there CL and maybe eating at Kona or Ohana but just wondered if GF delivered them to Poly to the restaurants or rooms???
Okay. Can we just order the slipper as the only thing we eat there, instead of having a full meal, then having the slipper brought out at the end? I don't think we'd be able to finish the slipper after all that food and that would be a terrible waste! At Cinderella's Royal Table, they only serve the slipper that one way. They don't have all the other accompaniments that the GF puts on the plate, like the chocolate mousse "boat"... You might be able to ask them to leave off the cake/phyllo pillow thingy and just put the slipper directly on the plate, but they'll probably put more fruit on to compensate.
The GF definitely delivers cakes to the restaurants at the Polycall their Private Dining and see if they'd send it to your room too.
When you make a reservation at CRT, your credit card is immediately charged the full price of a meal for everyone in your party. So I guess you don't have to eat the rest of the meal while you're there, but you will have paid for it already.
Will you be dining at the Contemporary or the Grand Floridian during your trip? Because you can get the slipper dessert there too.
It doesn't have to be at CRT, just any restaurant where the white chocolate slipper is available. I was planning to go at an afternoon-snack time, around 3-4 maybe, and just have the slipper. Which restaurant can we go to that will not charge us for anything but the slipper we order?
