Can anyone pls help me with the number for private dining at the Contermporary? The number that I have does not seem to be the correct one. Looking to order a cake. Thanks so much!

the dining reservation is on my DIL name and the cake is on my name. (not the same at all)

They never asked for my email address or home address. Did not ask where we were staying.

Just tell them when you check in that you have a cake ordered by [your name] that's for the [your DIL's name] party. You may also want to remind your server—even when they DO ask callers for reservation info to go with the cake, they sometimes forget to bring it out!

There is no direct number for Private Dining at the Contemporary. You have to call the main number and ask to be transfered: 407-824-1000

It can still be a surprise, just let the host/hostess and/or server know quietly. Excuse yourself to the restroom, find your server away from your table and mention it or quietly mention it at the check-in podium when the rest of your party is standing far enough away so that they won't hear.

I always tell the people to just wait and I will check us in. Normally you don't get seated right that second so act like you are taking care of the check in that way you can be sure to keep it a surprise! :thumbsup2

How long does it generally take to get a call back after leaving a message using the cake hotline? I'm pretty sure it'll differ per location, but would love to have some idea. I'm not from the US and some departments do call back on international numbers and some don't, so I'ld really like to be able to have an idea of how long to wait before jumping on things further. Once we get to Disney I doubt my mom will give me enough time alone those first couple of days to get things set up behind her back so have to do it now to keep her out of it all. ;)

Does anyone know if the Boardwalk bakery can may a handpiped Mickey Head cake (like the one in the index marked "Mickey Head (Large))? It was originally made at the CR. I am having a cake delivered to Olivia's and I know it is coming from the Boardwalk bakery. I've already spoken to them and will be ordering in two weeks. If they can't I'll be going with an edible image Playhouse Disney (like the one in the index that was for Jack's first birthday.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I did a double take because my Jack had a hand-piped Mickey head cake for his first birthday. Of course, I made it, so I wouldn't expect to see it on this thread! ;)

Apparently the large Mickey Heads are available to special order from anywhere. However, they are usually the "ganache" ones and not the piped ones. I guess you could call the Boardwalk and see if they would do the piped version instead. They are standard $48 - part of the celebration promotion - pics on Disney website (although THEY show the piped version:confused3).

I know about these ones. The piped one had more vanilla icing which looked really delicious. I'm not a big fan of all that chocolate. I'll probably email them the pic and see what can be done. I have three little ones (6,1,1) and vanilla would be a better choice.

After a fantastic experience with Pat from GF ordering my cake for the wishes cruise. I have now just been in contact with YC&BC bakery to order a pirate cake for my DS. Whist they did take a little longer to get back to me than Pat, after emailing back and forth and they called me this morning the Pirate Cake is all ordered and they were just lovely and it was very easy to order and its all arranged for delivery to our room for after dinner one night.

I have ordered a pirate theme cake, chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling and chocolate ganashe (spelling :confused3:rotfl:) and I have been quoted $125. I will post photos of this cake and also the cake that I have ordered for the wishes cruise when we get back.

So we will be at the world Sept 25-Oct 3 celebrating the 31st birthdays of twin friends at Boma's on the 26th. As a surprise we (their mom, another friend and I) decided to order them a specialty cake. So we order a 12inch round yellow cake with bavarian cream filling covered in fondant decorated with sugar flowers and with Timon and Pumbaa in a Lion King theme of sort. We just confirmed the order today:banana: like 30 mins ago. I'm hoping it turns out the way we are wanting it to look and taste. Fingers crossed we will soon find out. I will post pictures as soon as we get back or if I think of it I can post while we're down....stay tuned
I forgot when we called to get quote on this cake they called us back and said it would cost $75...so totally can't wait to see this cake

We got this at the beginning of Aug. and was fabulous. It was an 8 in cake and was $85.

Thanks for this great thread. We will be there in a few week celebrating our Anniversary, but it will also be Grand-Daughters "13" Birthday. A very special day for a young lady.

I've been reading this thread daily, the cakes are beautiful. Thank you all for your post and pic's it made my choices very easy.

I will be calling this week to order a teen cake. I've made a list of her likes.

After leaving a few messages with Pat at the Grand Floridian with no call back--I finally was able to get a real person and ordered my two cakes for our upcoming trip.

I ordered the mini wedding cake for my son and wife who will be married the week before we go- that will be delivered to Ohana. (I had to pay for it when I placed my order-it was 30.00)

And we ordered a chocalate slipper with raspberries for PopPop (who will share it with the grand daughter for his birthday at 1900 Park Faire (12.00 which is payable at dinner.

How far in advance do I have to order a white chocolate cinderella slipper? I'm thinking of having it delivered to our table at Yachtsman Steakhouse.

TIA!

I don't think you can get the slipper there? :confused3 I believe its only available at CRT and the GF. Someone correct me if I am wrong.
But... I do know it is at least 48 hours before.
