I have a question about the actual ordering of the cake. I getting a cake for Chef Mickey's. I emailed with Chef Brian and agreed on the price and design, and he gave me a number to call to order the cake. But do I explain everything that we discussed in the email over the phone, or somehow reference the email?

You just give them the date and time of reservation and name. Tell them you already have been in contact with Brian and they should tell you that is all they need. :thumbsup2 They just put it on the cake schedule. They may ask you for a brief description.

Echoing a big thanks for everything on this thread. My planning just got so easy when I found it!

I just successfully ordered a Mini Wedding Cake for my DD12's surprise 13th birthday trip. White butter cream with chocolate cake and chocolate mousse filling and her name with a happy birthday on the plate. It was so easy, just looked up the private dining phone number for the GF and called. The woman was very nice, but she did want me to order a 6 inch cake for the three of us. But I knew from here what I really wanted and stuck to it. We are having Tea at 2pm, who would want to carry 3/4 of a 6" cake around the park? Or worse yet, leave it there?? Leftovers would be nice in the room, but I'm guessing we won't be going there at that point.

Anyway, the Mini Wedding Cake looks perfect and I am so excited!! Thanks again to my friends on the DIS!!!! :worship::worship:

Does anyone have any pictures of a Tigger cake? We will be there for my husband's birthday and Tigger is his favorite character. I would love to find a "fancier" Tigger cake with fondant icing (not just a "kiddie like" cake if you know what I mean). Anyone have any pics or suggestions?

Quite a few pages back I posted about ordering an Anniversary cake for my parents while we were at 1900 Park Fare for dinner. I spoke w/Pat and wanted the Mickey Delight and she told me it would be close to $100 which was more than I was willing to spend. End up with a a cake that was 6", chocolate cake w/bavarian cream and fresh strawberries, white chocolate topper and to say "Almost Golden". My parents are celebrating their 50th Anniversary in July. Anyway the cake cost $66. I have the Tables in Wonderland card (AP) so I got 20% off the whole dinner & cake, the 18% gratuity was automatically added to my bill. The cake was fantastic. When our server, Michael, brought it out I was a little disappointed since it looked so small. But it really was beautiful and the way it was decorated was very nice, really classy looking. My parents were thrilled and that is all that mattered. The chocolate cake was super moist, the cream and strawberries tasted great and the buttercream frosting was unbelievable. All in all...a wonderful cake!!

When you ordered the cake did you tell them at that time that you have TIW? I'm going to call and order a cake for June but don't have my TIW card yet, I just mailed in the form for it last week so I'm not sure how long it will take to get the TIW card.

No I didn't tell them I had the TIW card because I didn't buy my AP's or the card until I got there on 4/21. I just told them when I checked in for the dinner and when I was seated.

There is no set price for any of the cakes and the price can really vary depending on where you get it, what you get and how decorated you want it to be. If you check the first page of this thread you can scan through various cakes and what they have cost in the past.

You really don't need to set up the cake until around two weeks prior to your visit. Decide where you want to eat your cake and then call the cake hotline and follow the prompts to that restaurant/resort. Some of the restaurants are very limited in what they can do and other can give some really beautiful cakes.

I don't believe they can do Pooh cakes because Disney doesn't own the rights to those characters.

I wanted to post about a cake I had made last week for my friend's 40th birthday. We had dinner at Le Chefs de France. When I contacted the restaurant, they said my only options were choc or vanilla cake..the standard celebration cakes. So I called the Boardwalk bakery and ended up getting a custom cake made by one of the pastry chefs there. It was so cool and worth it. The price I was given was the standard $45 for a special cake, add $30 for fondant and $30 for theme. The actual price when I picked it up was $79.88 so I guess the price quoted was worst case scenario. I asked them to do a "40" theme with black and white fondant and red roses. It came out really cool. The only issue I had was that it was really heavy and I had to carry it from the boardwalk to the restaurant which was rough, but the cake was delicious. I ordered marble cake with dark choc mousse.

I don't know how to post the photo but wanted to tell you all about it!

Can anyone tell me how "customizable" the mini wedding cakes are ie, colour, flavours etc?

Has anyone ordered a mini wedding cake for a specialty cruise? We are doing a Wishes cruise for my BF's birthday and I wanted to order a small cake for her, since, we will all be on the dining plan and will probably have had our share of desserts (it's than even possible?) by the time we go on the cruise. Also, her daughter has an egg allergy, will I be able to get an egg free cake?

Thanks!

Since they can't do a Tigger cake, what about an orange fondant cake with black fondant stripes? It's Tigger like and would be very manly looking?

I don't see why they couldn't! They are some talented decorators!

How long does it generally take Pat to respond to a voice mail? I left her a message yesterday morning at 9am, so far haven't heard back. I'm not in a HUGE hurry, since I am not looking for the cake until 5/30, but would like to get the info so I can plan for it. I asked her about doing for delivery at Kona, a 6 or 8 inch chocolate cake with the bavarian cream and strawberries filling, with vanilla buttercream tinted lime green and the mini castle on top, to say Happy Birthday Catie. She is NOT a girly girl, but she adores that castle, and lime green is her favorite color (trained her well). I was just gonna get a mini cake or something, but then I decided if I get a bigger one, it should be enough for all of us to have a peice (we're having her birthday dinner at Kona with the 4 of us and 4 friends) without leftovers.

We'll be going in July and celebrating our 20th anniversary and I want to surprise my DH with a cake. I really like the Anniversary Cake, but am maybe thinking of having something custom made if it's not to expensive. Here's my problem? We have the DDP but my husband doesn't want to pre-book a lot of meals as he doesn't want to be tied down to a certain restaurant so I'm trying to figure something out without letting him know about the cake.

I'm trying to talk him into having dinner at 1900 Park Fare.
If all works out well I would contact Pat at the GF right? Does anyone have a e-mail they could send my way to save on long distance charges? If so can you send an e-mail to the chef without having called the GF first or is this a no-no?

If that doesn't work out we do have 1 reservation already made for the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show. Can you get a cake for a dinner show and would I contact the GF also for this place if I want a cake?

Thanks to everyone who has answers to my questions.

Does anyone know about the treat tray from Animal kingdom lodge? There is a link on here, but no picture? I was thinking about having one sent to our room at AKL. It has a chocolate sign with chocolate covered strawberries or zebra domes I think?
