Is it possible to order and pay for a cake to be delivered to somebody else's dining table ?

I'm wanting to send my nephew one of those small Pirate treasure chest cakes to his breakfast reservation as a surprise, but I don't want their table billed for it. I know they are just a generic box cake, but he would just be so happy.

They will be dining at Tusker House for breakfast in one week.

Unfortunately, Disney no longer offers the treasure chest cakes. They were part of an annual promotion several years ago, and, judging by their popularity on this thread, Disney really should have kept them! Also, in most circumstances the cake is charged to the restaurant bill, not when you order it. There have been a few reports recently of folks being charged ahead of time at some of the resort restaurants, but not in the parks.

Does anyone know if Disney will do a non-Disney themed cake? My DD is a huge fan of a TV show that is not a Disney production and I would love to get her a cake with that theme.

TIA :goodvibes

Just an FYI, when I had a cake delivered to my table, the amount was added BEFORE the tip was calculated. My suggested tips were based on the price of the meal & the cake together. I give a decent tip when I dine, but adding $80 to the total for lunch and then expecting the tip to the restaurant (who only delivered it to my table) to be based on that total seemed a bit odd. I wonder if the tip was actually delivered to the bakery department?

Very excited I finalized my sisters surprise birthday cake at Cinderella's royal table for our trip next month! We are getting an 8 inch cake with green buttercream frosting, gum paste flowers and a gold dusted Minnie white chocolate figurine. The inside is red velvet cake with fresh strawberries and white chocolate mousse filing. Took a lot of emailing back and forth but everyone was great to work with!

Yes I just posted about this on the last page when someone asked about Tables in Wonderland discounts with cakes. It's the same thing - they add the TIW auto-gratuity on the price of the cake too, which is super-frustrating when you have a $100+ cake and all the server did was plunk it on your table. And no, the pastry team doesn't see a dime of that tip. :(

anyone have any ideas or experience with a military inspired cake? Best friend is deploying for 6 months right after our trip in April.
Trying to come up with an idea for a cake. He is Navy is that matters. Love any help that anyone has out there. Just not feeling creative.
Thanks!

My husband and I are going to be staying at BLT for our first anniversary, and I want to order a cake since we ate our original top tier during our honeymoon (while it still tasted good :teeth:). I still have our BEO from Disney describing our cake, but I was thinking about trying to do something different. I was thinking about trying to get a Duffy and Shelliemay cake if there wouldn't be any issues with using those characters. Has anyone ever seen anything like that? I've found several cakes made of Duffy's face, but nothing really with the two of them. I'm having a hard time coming up with anything creative!

For the mini cakes are the available in any flavor or only vanilla or chocolate? Thanks!

It depends on where you order them. The Grand Floridian's Private Dining contact will tell you that they can only be ordered in vanilla or chocolate, but pastry chefs at other places (like the COntemporary and BoardWalk Inn) will let you order them in pretty much any flavor combo except carrot cake and/or fresh-fruit fillings.

Hmmm it was the Contemporary that told me that...maybe I should ask about other flavors. Thank you for all your help :) Another question...trying to decide where to have our anniversary dinner at. Trying to decide between Yachtsman Steakhouse (had our Wedding dinner there it was great! Do you know if they still do personalized menus or not?) or Artist Pointe or somewhere else?? Hard decisions lol

Let's see... did you get Chef Brian or Chef Donald? Chef Brian's usually pretty adventurous when it comes to flavors and designs!

As far as I know, both places will do personalized menus. Quality's such a crapshoot, though. I've had great meals and bad meals at both places.... Maybe you could base it on which fireworks show you want to see after dinner! ;)

Do you think they would do a BB8 cake? I tried to get them to do a Wookie cake last year and they would not.

I looked at my email and it was from Chef Brian...I guess I'll email back and ask about other flavors.

I recently got done requesting a Star Wars cake for my husband's birthday. I inquired about what characters were restricted, and I was asked to just name off my ideas. I named a few different characters/scenes - Millennium Falcon, Han/Leia, and something else I can't quite recall. All of these were restricted, and all they could really offer was a 2D image of the Star Wars logo.

It never hurts to ask, of course. And if they can't really put BB-8 on it, I bet they could theme the color scheme around what you're looking for. That's what I ended up doing, and I'll add a little prop later at the table.

I want to order a specialty cake for my youngest DD's graduation and have it delivered after our dinner at BOG in August but not sure where to order it from and would they deliver it to that particular restaurant? I did something similar for my other DD 4 years ago at the Beach Club, ordered it thru their private dining and then had it delivered after our dinner at Cape May. This is the cake I had done at the BC and want something similar this time around:

The second post of this thread lists the contact information for every park and resort. You will find an email address and a phone number for the Magic Kingdom there. They will send you info about generic cakes first, and then you can show them your photo and ask to work directly with the Contemporary Resort's pastry team on your custom cake for delivery to Be Our Guest.

Perfect...thank you!

We'll be celebrating my daughter's 8th birthday at 1900 Park Fare in May. I am debating about whether to do a podium cake or custom cake. The custom cakes can be so beautiful, but the Mickey Head (and Minnie Head) cakes are so cute; I think she might like that just as much.

However, it does make me a bit nervous to wait and order a cake at the restaurant. Do they always have those cakes on hand? My preference would be Monnie, but Mickey would work.
