If I want to order the chocolate slipper (preferably milk chocolate) with some chocolate covered strawberries and if budget allows a mini cake to celebrate our anniversary. Please could you let me know which restaurant we should go to in order to have this. We don't really want to go to CRT as my DD is not a big princess fan.

Your best bets are any of the restaurants at the Grand Floridian. I have never seen them do a milk chocolate slipper anyplace except CRT, but that doesn't mean it's not available. Definitely ask!

We will be having a 6 inch birthday celebration cake on a different night for our DD birthday. Please could you tell me what happens to the rest of the cake if we don't finish it as we are using disney dining plan which includes desert I doubt we will be able to eat big slices of cake after.

They will give you the box the cake came in so that you can take the leftovers with you.

Thank you so much Lurkyloo.

If I ordered the 6inch cake for my DD to be delivered at the rose and crown please could you tell me if it would be possible to have a Pluto figure either 3d or screen print and would it say happy birthday on the board? When it says no personalisation does it literally mean plain white cake?

I don't really want to pay for an 8inch cake just for us but I want to make her cake at least look a bit special and disney like.

Chef Brian sounds amazing! Is there a specific email for him or do we just use the email on the first page? I'm calling WL private dining on Monday!

I'm confused by the link to allergen free cakes. They appear to still have cross contamination risk since there is a statement processed in a faculty with listed allergens( we are peanut/treenut). So not truly allergen free, or am I missing something? Is this statement because the cakes are made in a bakery with these allergens on shared equipment? Anyone have experience on how to order a cake safe from cross contamination? TIA!

It was my understanding that the "allergy friendly" cakes are made in-house in the same kitchens where other resort baked goods are made. They are not prepared or stored in special allergy free facilities. If you need a cake free of the possibility of cross-contamination, Disney will refer you to Babycakes (although I believe even they can no longer consider themselves nut-free due to their use of coconut). The allergy friendly cakes Disney offers are more so for people with sensitivities rather than allergies that elicit anaphylactic reactions due to the risk of cc.

Can anyone tell me if there is an off-site bakery that makes great custom cakes? I am a little worried about AKL's custom capabilities. Preferably one that would deliver.

I haven't ordered from them, but I've heard lots of great things about It's Tasty Too, Party Flavors, Anna Cakes, Sprinkles Cakes and Bake Me a Cake.

Thank you! That's a great start for me to investigate.:cool1:

Here's my dilemma. We're Celebrating my Daughter's birthday at WDW. Staying at AKL. I thought about having a cake made at AKL but they get really mixed reviews. I want to really wow her and give a gorgeous cake! We're having lunch at CRT on her actual bday and I would LOVE to have a cake delivered there for her. I would LOVE for Chef Brian to make it. I do not want to carry this cake around for the rest of the day.

What is the right decision? I need experienced voices here...

I searched but didn't find anything. I need a birthday cake for a couple of vegans. Any suggestions/photos? We will be eating at Boma. I also need a "regular" birthday cake. TIA :cake:

I don't think I posted in this thread.

In 2011 I was in WDW for my birthday and wanted the Treasure Chest cake to celebrate. Unfortunately there was a mixup and the order was not placed correctly. As way of apology (since the order was confirmed at the resort concierge, but not submitted to the bakery) we got some great pixie dust. Mind you all of this was going on without my knowledge:

The (I think) standard 6" chocolate cake. We had the dining plan and didn't need more dessert, so we took it back to the room, but when I did sample it later it was VERY good.

But even BETTER was the chef felt bad about my not getting the treasure chest (it was expressed how much I loved pirates and I really really wanted this thing when they were trying to fix the mistake) so he grabbed a chest and filled it with cookies:

These cookies were some of the best I've ever had. Sugar, chocolate chip, raisin oatmeal, and a rice crispie.

I'm sorry I don't have prices or other info - but perhaps the cookie in a chest option is a great idea for someone who doesn't like cake?

Had this 6" cake delivered to Teppan Edo on our trip. Called about 3 weeks in advance and ordered a Chocolate cake with white whipped cream filling and frosting. Requested picture of Rodger and Jessica Rabbit on the top with "Our First Trip" written. I had also requested red mickey heads around the side of the cake and as you can see that didn't happen, but the sprinkles weren't bad so I didn't complain. They brought it to the table with a lit candle so that was a nice touch.

Cake was very tasty, my partner said it was the best dessert we had all trip except for the Creme Brule in France. So it was a hit. Because there are only 2 of us we shared with the rest of the table at Teppan Edo and everyone was very happy and seemed to enjoy their slice of cake.

I would do it again, I think the cake was 25.00 or 28.00, but still worth it to us.

I thought my cake made by AKL looked very nice; I think it helps to be specific. I don't know how they divide up the work at the Contemporary, but it seems like Chef Brian is doing most if not all of the custom cakes now. You could do a mini cake if you don't want leftovers.

Most Disney locations can provide what they call an "allergen-free" cake that appears to be vegan - check out the photo and list of ingredients HERE. I'd call Animal Kingdom Lodge Private Dining about 2 weeks ahead to get the ball rolling on both cakes.

Thank you both for sharing your photos and experiences! :thumbsup2

Can we book a restaurant just for drinks and custom cake? Example: book The Wave for arrival day just to get 2 custom cakes?

Yep! That's what we did for our Fozzie cake. It's not like they ask you what you'll be eating when you make the reservation. :thumbsup2

We are picking ours up at the podium at the Wave and taking it back to the room to surprise DD. Just a thought. :thumbsup2

:cheer2:

I ordered our cake for the baby shower we'll be having a Kouzzina! The woman I spoke to at Boardwalk was very helpful! It's an 8" fondant covered cake and I'm trusting the chef with the decorations. I did ask for lavendar/purple fondanat, gender neutral, and fondant cutouts.

Can't wait!

OK, it's been far to long, but here are the photos... My sister-in-law was very happy with the cake. The only problem is that I had requested marble cake and it was yellow cake. Not a big deal at all.

Hi there,

Does anyone know the cost of the white chocolate mickey and Minnie (Wedding/Anniversary) topper? Will it fit on a mini cake?

Thanks:love:

It's $15, but I think it's too big for a mini cake. You could always have them set it on the plate next to the cake if it won't fit.

Thanks! That's what I was thinking too.

So far, I'm picturing white fondant with blue daisies to match her dress and red velvet cake (with cream cheese filling) since the 40th anniversary symbol is ruby.

OR

White fondant with rubies and just a chocolate cake with white chocolate mousse filling.

Any other ideas?
