I noticed on page one you may also have an option of "mousse" for a filling. A Strawberry mousse they may take heavy cream whip it up and add jam or fresh berries. A chocolate mousse would be heavy cream, and some kind of melted chocolate whipped together. It's usually not too sweet, and light in texture also. So that may be why there is a reference to "filling". It would go between layers of "sponge" on the inside of the cake. And could be buttercream frosting or a mousse or a fruit jam? Then the outside of the cake would have the buttercream frosting, then decorations...

Hello! I've enjoyed the pictures on this thread and I've tried to understand the info provided, just need help applying it all to our situation. Hoping you guys can help me make decisions about my son's birthday cake this September. He will be turning 7yo. We are staying at AoA and have a late CM's breakfast reservation on the morning of his birthday, after that we will be spending the day at HS. I'm thinking a cake at CM's might be nice to use the Contemporary bakery, but then I would want to stick with a small cake so we wouldn't have left-overs to deal with. He said he wanted a Tootles cake, which surprised me as I would have guessed Cars, Star Wars, or maybe Toy Story. Anyway I'm thinking maybe a 6" cake with the 3d Jedi Mickey.?.

Unless you have about 8 adults, you will have leftovers on that 6-inch cake. But you could just order the cake through AOA and have it delivered to your room at the time you specify, and then you won't have to worry about leftovers. The cake will be made by the Yacht & Beach Club, which can do fancy decorations and should be able to get the Jedi Mickey white chocolate figure, but you need to order it by calling the number listed for AOA.

I had called the cake hotline and asked about the smallest cake that they have. They said that they have a Celebration Today Cake for 4-6 people and it comes with one candle for $23. No advance request needed because they try to have that cake available at all times. Does anybody have a picture of that? I asked her if I can bring a cake from outside and was told no because of state laws. Also, does anybody have a picture of a Cinderella Slipper dessert? Where do you order that and how much does that cost? Thanks!

This cake was ordered at the podium at Cinderella's Royal Table a few years ago. I think it is probably still the same or very similar. The candle was one we brought with us. We gave it to our server and asked him to please put it on the cake for us.

I have another question. i understand that CRT has milk chocolate Cinderella slippers. Does anybody know if this option is available for Crystal Palace? Or is only white chocolate available for CP? Thanks!

It was vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream frosting and filling. I believe you can request a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream also.

Yes, because there is no room service/Private Dining at OKW to deliver it. However, some of the resorts that don't have Private Dining, like the Values, will still scare up a bell services person or somebody to deliver the cake if you ask. I'm sure if the cake arrives and you simply cannot make it over to the restaurant to get it, they will find somebody to bring it to you.

It should be, since they all come from the same place for the Magic Kingdom. Best to call/email them and ask!

Thank you .I was hoping so much for the cake to be in the room when we return from DHS to surprise my husband with our vow renewal that will be taking place 2 days later.I was hoping to enter the room by myself,and put some finishing touches to the cake and around the table where the cake would have been placed+then let my husband and daughters enter our room where I would be filming my husbands reaction.But to have to go and collect the cake myself and bring it to our room,then tell him and our daughters to go hide in the bathroom whilst I sort it out sort of spoils it somewhat.Since phoning them today i have been toying with the idea of having the cake delivered to a restaurant where we have an ADR, but that would all be a bit too much for me and public.May have to rethink the cake surprise?.x.

Hello. Obviously new to the boards but not at all new to Disney.

My husband and I are celebrating our 17th anniversary at WDW flying in May 15th and out May 18th.
I would like a mini cake in almond flavor delivered to 1900 Park Fare for dinner on the 15th.

I would *love* to get something done with a Haunted Mansion Theme but realize there may be limitations to mini cakes.
So, my question is: What designs and/or flavors are available for mini cakes or do I need to upgrade to a bigger cake to get that kind of design?

It's just the two of us going. I would also like to get some chocolate slippers done and maybe served to us during lunch. Are those available at Be Our Guest? (We have lunch reservations there for May 16th)

I tried to pull up the "by location" page and it seems to be blank for me.
Any help at all would be wonderful!

I see... I would suggest talking to someone at the front desk when you can grab a moment away from the family and explaining the situation. I'm sure they will try their best to help you arrange it.

If you want the wallpaper, they will tell you you need to get a bigger cake. There is no physical reason they can't make you an almond-flavored mini cake, but for some reason the Private Dining contact at the GF won't let people order any flavors other than chocolate or vanilla for minicakes (never mind that we can get all sorts of flavors in mini cakes at the other resorts). You're really going to have a lot more options if you do a 6-inch cake.

I was clicking that link, yes. From the first post in this thread. It doesn't like Chrome at all but pulls up fine in IE. I'll just have to do this 'serious business' in IE LOL

We are staying at Port Orleans FQ. Should I ask them regarding an almond mini cake (I see Boardwalk does theirs? This is all new and special to me. This whole cake business. )? And then maybe just ask to have it delivered to our dining place? I know it may be asking too much of Disney but ... but... yeah, I want it.

Also, I can skip the thoughts on a Haunted Mansion cake. My husband (after some sneaky conversation) has told me that HM is *not* his favorite ride. Nevermind that I thought it was this entire time. This whole time we've been married. *sigh* I digress.

A mini cake should do just fine. And maybe some slippers. Both. I like the idea of indulging in both.

The slipper is only available at CRT and the GF, unfortunately, because it's yummy!

Just wanted to add a +1 to lurkyloo's response. We tried this for our March/April trip with CR. They did an amazing 6" Goofy cake in fondant with the hand-painted Goofy on top in January, so I was hoping for a Haunted Mansion mini cake. As lurkyloo mentioned, they can't do the wallpaper design in anything less than a 6". For a 6" with the Haunted Mansion crest on top and the wallpaper, they quoted $89. For a mini cake (no wallpaper or design) and a 2D Haunted Mansion crest on top, they quoted $50. I really love the idea of the Haunted Mansion wallpaper in fondant, so we're waiting until we have more traveling with us next year - and then we'll likely order the 6"!

I am so glad you posted this, that is the type of cake we were considering!

To wrap my mind around pricing....

If we choose that shape/size, but put a Mulan screen print on it with "Welcome to Disney" on the chocolate it should be about the same price? Girl it up in pink and white and add cherry blossoms?
