This is the cake I requested. I was quoted $90 for a 6" 4 layer cake. I also like this cake for it's simplicity. My husband isn't a huge Disney fan so I thought this would fit him more than something that screamed characters lol

I really want that Never Grow Up cake... please post pix when you get it

For the ladies ordering the Peter pan cake I ordered that cake from the contemporary last February. It was all good then they called me the morning of our reservations and said we can only do Peter pan and they can't do that exact cake. Of course it was too late and I had to accept it. I have photos of what the cake looked like but I don't have photo bucket. If I had to do it again I would have ordered from an outside vendor.

They asked me specifically if I wanted all of them, so I hope that they doo it like described. This was my 3rd time ordering a cake and the most difficult.

My FIL will be turning 75 when we are in Disney later this year & my MIL wants to order a cake to be delivered to him at our one big family meal (25 people strong!!). I looked up some info for her & we think the 10" will be sufficient. She's not looking for anything fancy, but is hoping to get a Donald Duck picture on it (just a simple print is fine; not needing any fancy fondant work or sculptures).

My question is - the plan is to hopefully have ADR for Liberty Tree Tavern (my TA is working on it for me as they will be closed when our ADR window opens & only reopening the week before we go). Is my best bet to just call the main cake ordering number (on page 1 of this thread), or is there a different avenue we should be looking at? Also, are the prices on page 1 still current? We just want to have an accurate idea for budgeting purposes.

Thanks for any help!!

I think it looks pretty great! Still a major bummer they didn't tell you they could only include Peter until day of though!

they said no to the wookie cake and basically anything with Star Wars that is 3D and no chocolate jedi Mickey character at EPCOT. HS maybe be the better route as they have a Star Wars cake available. they are letting me know Monday what is is. Here is an image of last years for $150. I asked for a non-painted Mickey and she is going to get me pricing but thought it would be under $100. Starwars cake.jpeg I do not think this is great but may be my best option.

I had two back to back nightmares the cake I ordered wasn't there/not ready and woke up crying..ugh, I'm so worried now about my DH even liking it..I can't wait for these two weeks to be over lol.

So excited! Today I ordered my first ever Disney cake! We will be at LTT on DS's 16th birthday in May. I emailed magic kingdom cakes to order a vanilla Mickey Mouse cake with chocolate ganache. They emailed me back a couple of times to get details and confirm. Very quick and friendly. The cake will be $54 plus tax and gratuity. We are only a family of five but we will have the extra boxed up to take. So excited!

white chocolate anniversary card.jpg Oops! I made a mistake, what I meant, is do they do the COACH chocolate dusting template at Grand Floridian, not the castle. Also, does anyone know if they still have the Grand Floridian White Chocolate Anniversary card?

Okay....here's the cake design (cut and paste mess!) that I'm going to try to have delivered to our room at the GF for our anniversary! It was actually the top of a "Mad Hatter" cake, but I'm going to have it made as a 6" regular shaped cake.

Since this page has been so helpful as I have planned my cake, I thought I would share. My parents are at Animal Kingdom Lodge right now celebrating my mother's 60th Birthday. I was able to work with AKL to arrange a cake that I was able to pay for with my credit card and surprise my mom with in their room.

I didn't give them too many details, just that I wanted a Minnie Mouse theme and if possible some chocolate covered strawberries. The lady I talked with on the phone was very nice and very helpful. She checked with the chef while I was on the phone about the chocolate covered strawberries and they said they could do that for $2-$3 a piece. Then a few days before, I got a call from them and they asked if they could add the Minnie to the top for a $15 fee.

I was excited all day, waiting to hear from my mom. I really wanted to make sure it all went well and that the cake arrived, and it all went splendid! The cake was delivered and my mom was surprised and very excited! She also said it was very moist and the filling and buttercream were delicious! She's a great cake maker herself so the fact that she found it delicious tells me it must be good! The bakers even added fresh strawberries to the chocolate filling! I am just so happy with how it all turned out! The final cost was $60, which I don't think was bad at all since they added strawberry filling, a minnie mouse, and 5 or 6 chocolate covered strawberries to the cake! It was a great experience and I am thrilled with how AKL pulled this off for my mom!

Can you get a cake delivered to Beaches & Cream since it's at the Yacht & Beach Club and they do cakes there? Just trying to find a good birthday lunch or dinner for a 5 year old boy (if I can't get a reservation at chef mickeys). All our other character meals are breakfasts - crystal palace and tusker and I'd rather not have him eating cake for breakfast (though i wouldn't mind eating it hehe). What about Garden Grill at Epcot? That would be the Epcot number in the first post? Any other ideas? I'd like to get either a wall-e cake or a jack skellington cake so trying to figure out what restaurants I can get a fancy cake delivered too and then which ones would be fun for a 5 year old boys birthday! We have a lunch ressie at Hollywood & vine character lunch but I don'y believe you can get a fancy cake there?

I continually update pricing and info in the first two posts of this thread. However, almost every cake requires a custom quote, so only the pastry chef/cake-ordering contact can tell you exactly what it will cost. Use Post #2 to get the email and phone number for Magic Kingdom cakes.

Yes.

Yes on Garden Grill. You could try for a fancy cake at Hollywood & Dine by calling the number in the second Post for Brown Derby Group Reservations and see what they say. It's sort of a back-door way to get to the DHS pastry team right now, but supposedly they do have the capability to do fancy fondant.

Just finished ordering my cake. This thread was a great help, thank you Lurkyloo for all the key information!

8" chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling from CR (Chef Brian was so nice!!) with "Welcome Nana & Papa" on the plate. Quoted price is $106. It will be delivered to the boat we booked for a Wishes Cruise.

The wonderful gentleman that took my order with Private Dining was giving me the long spiel about making changes up to 72 hours in advance, and I started to laugh. I told him not to worry, I was checking this off my to-do list. He started to laugh too and said "you wouldn't believe me about some of the changes people have wanted last minute... up to and including entirely different cakes."

Now my only worry is that it will be raining the night of our cruise and we'll be eating cake under ponchos :cake:

LOVE this cake! Where did you find the picture, may I ask?

Sorry...while in the middle of posting when my internet connection died. Anyway, this is the mini cake that I ordered for my DD's birthday in March. I think they did a really nice job of it. However, it was much smaller than I thought which was disappointing considering the cost. This really is the size of a small cupcake(think...the size you bake at home in a regular muffin tin). I was repeated told that it would be enough for the two of us.....I'm really on the fence about that, leaning towards, it's not. We probably had 3 bites each and the icing was way too sweet so we peeled it off. The cake and filling were excellent though.....it was vanilla with white chocolate filling.

While it was pretty and a special surprise for my DD(although, she thought that the restaurant was giving it to her) at $35 this is a rip off. Note to self....next time order a 6", yes it will cost more, but each person will have a decent slice of cake.

I wouldn't discourage anyone from ordering one just be aware of what you are actually getting. The plate in the picture is not an oversize...it's either 8" or 9" dinner plate.
