If you order it for Artist Point you will be able to get it in pretty much any flavor except carrot cake or German chocolate cake. If you order it for Narcoossee's they will limit your flavor choices to all-chocolate or all-vanilla. The bakeries that service Cape May and POR may be a little more lenient with flavor choices, but ordering for POR will be most complicated. I think I'd go for Artist Point.

Geez... like a 1 1/2-inch atop a 3-inch maybe? People have reported here that they've split them among 2 adults and 2 kids, but that's only a few bites each. They are plenty for 2 adults though.

8 inches. Neither resort should be more difficult than the other if all you need is a basic cake with a screen print. :thumbsup2

Thanks 8 inch would be good. Can you get a raspberry or strawberry filling? I want to order for our late Ohana's breakfast. But I could go threw pop and have it delivered to the resort as well if the boardwalk bakery will do the filling.

WOW 254 pages of the last cake thread, that took a while lol

I still didn't see any Jack from Nightmare Before Christmas, I did see the cupcakes but no cakes. Does anyone have any pictures of Jack cakes that have been done by Disney, THANKS!

So we are staying at the Beach Club and was going to order a cake when we eat at Cape May Cafe with TIW discount. I don't want to have to deal with the hassle of asking for separate checks to avoid the 18% tip going on both the meal and the cake. How much is considered average tip for custom cake?

If you don't ask for separate checks and you use TIW, you will automatically pay an 18% gratuity on the cake, so.... are you asking because you plan to ask the manager to reduce the autogratuity?

And can I order from Boardwalk Bakery and pick up myself?

Yes.

I hadn't thought about this until a recent question. Is one supposed to pay a tip for the cake? If you do who does the tip go to? That can add a lot to the tip if you have a group of 6+ w/ the automatic 18%. I'm not saying servers don't deserve an 18% tip, it just seems a bit much for a cake.

OK, so, this is just my opinion: Unless I have to automatically pay a tip because I've used the Tables In Wonderland card or have a 6+ group, I tip only on the price of the meal. The pastry chef who did all that work is not going to see a dime of any tip you leave your server, and all the server has to do is carry the cake from the kitchen to your table. And maybe slice it, but you can do that yourself. Maybe I'll tip a little bit higher than the 20% I usually leave for a meal, but I just don't feel right about leaving an extra $20 on top of the dinner tip because my cake happened to cost $100.

I'm wondering about ordering a cake for our little guy to celebrate his birthday on our upcoming trip. This will be the first time he is actually able to eat his birthday cake, because of special needs, so I figure what better place to do it.

My question is do you think they could do a Panda from It's a Small World/Small World cake? Even just an edible image one?

They can certainly do a screen print. It would be helpful if you could provide them with the image. Depending on who's making the cake, they might also be able to make a little panda out of modeling chocolate (but not all locations have this kind of capability).

Does anyone know if there are any cakes available with Princess Tiana on them? OR anything from Princess and the Frog?

I haven't seen any in these threads recently, but you can ask for pretty much any Disney character and they'll do a screen print. If you want something more sophisticated, you might just Google for cakes with that theme and send Disney inspirational images.

So, if I wanted to order the Cinderella Slipper, would I still call the Cake Hotline number, or just call Narcoossee's?
TIA

Call the Cake Hotline or one of the Private Dining numbers listed in Post #2 of this thread, not the restaurant.

Either place can do those flavors as a mousse or as fresh fruit suspended in a mousse or custard filling.

This my exact thought. However, we are a party of 6 so is there a way to avoid the extra high tip?

You could ask for a manager to adjust the bill—some people feel uncomfortable doing that, though.

Ok, thanks. I was wondering if we could just pay for the cake separately and let them know that ahead of time. I was thinking maybe we could use our reward dollars for the cake and pay for our dinner or something like that.

You could try paying for the cake over the phone when you order it, but I've seen a few instances where they never actually charge the card and the cake turns up on the restaurant bill anyway....

I've been lurking on the cake chatter threads and have never ordered a WDW cake- I'm clueless! Thinking about having a cake delivered so it was in room on arrival (staying at CR). When cakes are delivered in room- are plates, forks, and cake box provided? Also thinking about the 6 inch cake- is it possible to "plus" up the 6 inch cake? Was just thinking personalization and maybe a chocolate figure but was worried about room on the cake! Thanks in advance!!

They will not deliver to the rooms unless you're already checked in. I guess you could check in but not go to the room for a while...?

Yep!

They might offer to write on the plate/cake board for you, but they don't allow personalization of 6-inch cakes because they're so small. You could order a chocolate figure to sit on its own plate next to the cake though.

Lurky, I know that they mostly say that, but Meag's Stitch cake was a 6" and was personalized, though it was also fondant.

It depends on your definition of ''personalize." They generally won't write a message directly on a 6 inch cake, but if you go the fancy fondant route, they might create a "banner" with writing on it.
So basically you're looking at either spending the extra $15+ for fondant, or $23+ to make it 8 inches.

Lurky, I've seen people talking about getting a Rapunzel cake with this package. Do you know if this is true? Also what is the princess made of plastic? Chocolate?

If they can do Rapunzel we will order just the cake, if not it will be a chocolate slipper.

I recently made a reservation for December 2014, and the PDF that WDW CRT Special Events sent me showed the Rapunzel 6" cake as one of the options. They now list Ariel, Aurora, Belle, Cinderella, Rapunzel or Tiana as available ones.

They do have rapunzel and she is plastic. The cake is very good.

I like how they set the standard white chocolate castle on top of an "ice" mountain!
