*~~Official December 2016 Thread~~*

I just found a dinning reservation for Tusker House at 5:55 on Dec. 2, but the calender has Animal kingdom closing at 5:00. Is this possible or do the dining people know something about an extention of hours

I now see options at Tiffins for Dec 19 but only until 545. Keeping my lunch reservation for now and waiting for ROL dining package.

Went to AK last night and pretty much got rained out. No EE or JB. Was disappointed. Hopefully, no thunder storms in December!

Anyone already plan meal selections based on your ADR's- Have you already determined what you want (other than buffets) ahead of time? Looked at the boathouse and because we were planning what we wanted from the menu- decided to go there twice (lol) appetizers one night and main entrée second night.
I have my choices I think and thinking about Boathouse for lunch one day. What are you choices? :)

Well it's like this- we have a 9pm reservation on Dec 7th- were gonna do all the cold seafood- lobster cocktail, shrimp and claws with a clam platter and of course-some kind of fruity adult beverage with ya know-those vacation umbrellas garnishing them.

We have a Lunch reservation the next day at 2:30, this is for the steak and lobster. Then walk it off leading up to La Nouba at 6pm. Next day we start the parks. :)

I looked over menus before deciding on ADRs but didn't pick what I wanted to eat. But your Boathouse choices sound super yummy & maybe if I was eating somewhere like that I'd have them picked already because I was looking forward to it. We're doing a lot of character meals for the experience. I'm not expecting the food to be amazing. My 3yo has a hard time sitting through meals so I'm looking forward to a meal that I can finish because the characters are occupying her attention.

My DIL has a shellfish allergy so we don't enjoy seafood as much as we did in the past. DS and DIL are coming 2 days later, so were trying to pack in the shellfish.... The food is very good and the character meals are well done. Crystal Palace and Garden Grill were two of our fav's especially with my 17 month grandson (we were there this April-food was amazing)

Before the fireworks- MK we went to Casey's to grab Foot longs and fries- In Epcot- before illusion's- it was fish and chips from England. By far the buffets are the way to go.

Have you tried Germany yet? one of the favorites in Epcot.

Me too for MVMCP ON THE 13th- also Merrywishes dessert party that day!
So excited since I've never been to MVMCP. I hope the extra $$$ for dessert party for parade viewing area is worth it. It was worth it at the MNSSHP every time we went.

146 days.....

No haven't tried Germany yet. I was only at Disney one time & it wasn't a great experience. I was in my sister's wedding there & wouldn't of gone at that time otherwise. I was pregnant & feeling sick most of the time. Plus I was upset that I finally got to Disney but couldn't ride on any of the cool things I'd heard about for years. We only did 2 ADRs. Chef Mickey breakfast & Ohana dinner. I loved Ohana. That was the only night I went back to the parks. We stayed off site & had s hard time getting back & forth. Mainly because of my son's nap time. We couldn't figure it out. This time I'm a lot more prepared of what to expect. I did my research & my TA is a lot of help. I'm considering this a redo for me & I'm excited.

Hi everybody. Sorry I haven't been as active as I'd been. We're building an addition to the house. And the constant changes, revisions and (ahem) non-truths from the contractor have really taken up our time. But it will make our trip in Dec that much more GREAT.

But I was able to do something that benefits our upcoming trip this weekend. We went to the local New Balance outlet and we each picked up a few pair of sneakers/walking shoes. We figure by keeping rotating them, they will all be broken-in in time for our trip. And as luck would have it, the outlet had 30% off everything in the store, including clearance. I do feel bad not posting this over the weekend, but for some reason, I was asleep the WHOLE DAY yesterday. To the point where my mother-in-law asked BDLsgal if I was ok. But keep an eye out. I know outlets like NB, Nike, etc... want to change out the old stock before the back to school shopping starts.

I can't recommend enough, getting/wearing the right shoes for Disney. Blisters are not fun.

Hi there! I just found this thread! I'll be going to WDW 12/7 - 12/13. I'm staying at CSR and doing MVMCP on the 11th, anybody else going that night? Also, is anybody doing the Keys to the Kingdom Tour at 8.30 am on the 12th?? I'm super excited! this will be the first time I'm going to WDW by myself!

We will be going to MVMCP on the 11th, and the 13th. We have our pre-party meal at Crystal Palace on the 11th and Liberty Tree Tavern on the 13th. We've never done the tour, but have seen specials on it. Looks like a blast.

First page updated again with travel and party dates!

Still checking every day for Star Wars Dessert Party date extensions...I normally don't complain about the way things are done, but I HATE when they only release dates for these parties or for certain ADRs in little bits and pieces. Last summer I dealt with this when they changed the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party into the Wishes Dessert Party, and on the day the dates were finally released to be booked, the website glitched and I ended up with 4 pending charges on my card because it kept saying "try again", and I guess I tried again four times, LOL!! It was easy to fix with a phone call because it happened to pretty much everyone who booked that day and they were expecting it, but it was frustrating.

Just booked F! H&V dinner! I had a regular H&V dinner but have been trying to get the F! package instead. Just to make sure I'm right, it's only 1 table service credit, correct? It's not like the CP where it's 2 TC and have to prepay.

I am definitely watching for the Star Wars Dessert Party availability too! This will be a cool surprise for our group.

Hi everyone! I have a question! From what I've seen, we are not allowed to ask around for a specific ADR? Is that correct? Is it okay to ask if anyone would be interested in trading for a certain time? I just ask because I have an early evening ADR, but my girls go to sleep really early, so I'm looking for more of a "later afternoon" dinner.

I'm not sure about the ADR thing. I know there's an Canceled ADR for December thread and you aren't allowed to ask in that thread. Maybe else that is more active can jump in and answer.

Well they have rules on the ADR cancellation thread and while I'm not entirely sure I definitely don't think I've ever read a rule against that on this thread. But maybe our moderator is a better person to answer this question.
Edit: I wouldn't mind the point of keeping that out of the cancellation thread is so the information and post on there are to the point and don't all become people requesting ADRs instead of what it's meant for. But obviously this thread is meant for everything and anything.

If I were looking for a different ADR time, I'd probably just post something on here that said, "Hey, I have an ADR for X time on X date for X amt of people, but would like a time closer to Y. If anyone is willing to/wanting to trade or planning to cancel, would you please send me a PM". I would also just continue to check on the Disney website for my preferred time to pop up.

The cancelled ADR thread has specific rules (for good reason!!), but I don't personally think it's a big deal to ask on this thread. By asking for PMs, it keeps it out of the general conversation, and still takes care of business :-):-)

Oh, and if anyone needs the link to the December cancelled ADR thread, it's in the first post :-)

Thank you!
Before posting I just wanted to check and make sure it was a "good one!" It turns out that it's a night of the MVMCP, and it just misses the cutoff of needing a special ticket. :( I'm not sure why I didn't see that when I initially reserved it. I'm doubting anyone is interested. But, just in case :)... I have a BOG ADR for 6:25 on December 9th for 6 people, that I'm looking to trade for a time closer to 4. If anyone happens to be going to the party that night and wanted to dine at BOG at 6:25 instead of 4, please let me know via PM
Thanks :)

Hi all. Remember yesterday, when I said "Blisters are not fun"? Well...

Owww owww owww owww owww... God bless the creator of Band-Aids. And this is just from walking a couple of miles during lunch.

This week I am breaking in my softer, cushion-ier (is that a word?) sneakers. These are what I would probably call my EPCOT sneakers. Good for walking short distances at a time and then standing for an extended amount of time. Next week I will start breaking in my harder soled, energy returning sneakers. These would be my Magic Kingdom sneakers. Good for prolonged walking and maintaining posture.

Wow... I think I just took Dis prepping to a new level.

Also, I might be bringing my boat shoes for our resort and DTD (I know it's Dis Springs) days.

I bought a pair of skechers gowalks and chaco sandals for our trip. The sandals are very comfy. Haven't broken in the gowalks yet.

I'm a flip flop wearer, and my yellowbox mellow mat flips and my Tevas are my go to footwear for summer in the parks. I'm hating that I'll have to bring something else along in December for cool nights below 50 degrees. I'll have to try out some new things. I hate running shoes unless I'm running, and my feet really hate running shoes in the parks.
