I searched through the Happy Dance board and didn't see an official December thread yet, so...here we are!

Has anyone else booked a trip for 12/16 yet??? Surely I'm not the only early bird.

Only 488 days left...no big deal, LOL!!

That was forever ago, and we're all within a few months of our trip now, Woohoo!!

Hello! We are planning to go in December 2016 but our dates are not final yet. We went last year the last week of December including New Year's Eve and had such an amazing time that we can't wait to do it again (so we are leaning more towards the same days).

The sun/heat makes me a very cranky person (not a very magical experience for me or those around) therefore I avoid going during the summer months. I'm a Disneyland AP holder so I'm there almost all the time when it is cooler. I did, however, make it to the 24hr event in May, but only from 5:30pm to 2:45am.

To Disney World I've only been there once this past December; weather was somewhat hot/humid and it rained a little but we went prepared with rain ponchos. We went during the most crowded time but with early mornings, table service reservations and fast passes, we were able to have a great time.

Are you planning to go in early, mid, or late December?

It's so awesome that you're a DLR AP holder!! We are planning to make our first visit in June 2016. My sister-in-law lives in LA and works downtown, so we'll be splitting our trip between Disneyland, the beach, and touristy LA stuff. We are so excited, but I'm very nervous. I have Disney World down to a science, and I feel so out of my element with Disneyland. I know I'll figure it out, though!

We are looking forward to the cooler December weather for sure. It'll be cold at home, so we'll enjoy the milder temps and appreciate that it's not crazy hot like July or August.
We are booked for the week before Christmas, and based on crowd calendars from previous years, that's the week the crowds pick up. We say bring it on!! We do a lot of early mornings, which makes all the difference. I cannot WAIT to see the castle lights, and to see the resorts all dolled up for the holidays. All of the nighttime stuff at Animal Kingdom should be going on by that time too, and I'm anxious to see Rivers of Light and the night time safari.

Hello all! My girlfriend thinks its too soon to plan for our for December 2016, but I guess I'm not the only one who is excited to plan their Disney trips!

We're from SF Bay Area, California. So this is going to be a big trip for us. It's going to be my first, and her first return in a long time. Our plan was to visit her family Thanksgiving that year, then spend a week in WDW before heading back home. Hopefully it works out! We are already collecting giftcards and saving, but we just need to wait to figure out flights before booking our trip since we are flying from SFO to AVP then AVP to MCO and ultimately MCO to SFO. Never too early in my opinion!! We usually book our WDW trips around 10 months in advance because we're so excited...but this is the first time we've done it right inside the 499 day window.

You guys are going to have quite the time traveling!! Goodness!! I love flying but HATE airports, so I feel for you.

Your first trip EVER?? I'm so excited for you. There's nothing like walking into the Magic Kingdom and seeing Cinderella Castle for the first time.



I'm really looking forward to spending the next year checking in with everyone on this thread as we plan our winter adventures!!

We're hopefully making a trip to the Grand Canyon over spring break...I really want that trip to come to fruition because all of this Disney waiting is driving me crazy.

We're staying at the Boardwalk, and I'm really excited! I've only ever stayed at the Wilderness Lodge, so we're happy to branch out, but we really REALLY love the Lodge. We will go over to visit it though, and look at the Christmas trees

That's awesome that you have trips to DL and the Grand Canyon to look forward to until then though! I've never been to the Grand Canyon but I have always wanted to go...it looks amazing! I've done Disneyland once, back in '08. Will this be your first time there? I definitely prefer WDW but I think every Disney fan should see DL at least once since it was Walt's baby...his vision

That's awesome! The Boardwalk is so nice! I love Wilderness Lodge too...I think Wilderness Lodge has some of the most beautiful Christmas decorations!

We are staying at either Beach Club Villas or Bay Lake Towers. My parents are lending me their DVC points for this trip and their home resort is Beach Club. You can only book 11 months out so I'll be booking us there at the 11 month mark. Then at 7 months (which is when you can book a non-home resort) I'm going to see if there's availability for a lake view studio at Bay Lake Towers. I'll be happy at either location though! I want to stay at BLT because of how close it is to MK and it's my son's favorite park but I also LOVE Beach Club and have stayed there many times. So I'll be a happy camper wherever we end up
I definitely plan on doing a resort tour as well! This will be my third time going to WDW during the Christmas holidays and there is absolutely nothing like seeing it all decked out for Christmas It's truly magical!

So glad I found this thread! We went last Christmas and had a great December 2014 group. We also formed a facebook group. We live in Norway but love Florida. Christmas in Orlando was the best Christmas ever. So we are planning to go again next year.

First visits are always the best, it's a little like being able to see through a child's eyes! That trip should definitely ease the wait until December 2016.
