****Official December 2014 Check-In! ****

Time is moving by so slowly....! This is our third trip and our last 2 trips we only booked about 3 months in advance so having booked 5 months in advance this time is killing me.

Have to hold on... worth the wait...

How's everyone else doing with the loooong wait until December?

I knew I was not the only one who felt this way!!!! I have been planning since February. I have never planned for a DL trip. The last two trips were day stops out of a Southern California trip. No planning at all.

At first it was full on everything. I was constantly looking up hotel rates, eagerly waiting for flight information to be available, Reading every blog possible, planning every meal. I have calmed down just a bit (mostly because my DBFF was getting annoyed. Can you imagine being annoyed with with anything Disney) but I do have some things left on my to do list. I have not booked a flight yet. I'm holding out for cheaper fare. If we can not get $79 each way pp then we will be driving. Fingers crossed!

All this planning has me really excited. I have never been able to take a trip like this with my kids. I am going all out. I do have a budget still, but I have saved like crazy and have my trip money set aside. I only have a couple of hundred left to save. We are staying at DLH and in as much as I would like in room decorations from Disney, I'm afraid I just can't swing the extra money. So I am doing them myself. I will be making a wreath for the door, I am bringing a small table top Christmas tree, and I will have gifts to put under the tree each for my kids. I have my mousekeeper tip envelopes made. I still need to put together our outfits. I won't make us all match but I do love the idea of DisneyBounding.

But best of all, I recently found out my DS(15) will be going to Disneyland with his High School band and they will be marching down Main Street USA. This will be in October and I am going! Two trips to DL in one year is a amazing! I am feeling very lucky!

Escape2Disney...now that we are already in the second week of the Theme Week Countdown in the Christmas/Holiday Season Superthread, where are your photos? Hmmm??? ;) You missed posting to the first theme (too late for that now); still have lots of time on the second; and there are still lots of themes to come over the next 3-1/2 months. But I hope you will be joining in!

By the way, TreeDharni and SweetAlex -- no one likes waiting until December! That's exactly why we're doing a Theme Week Countdown in the Superthread! It helps to pass the time and build momentum for the holidays, as well as show people certain things to look out for when they go. Without that 3-1/2 month countdown, the time would drag and drag as we wait for any tiny morsel of info to come in.

Sherry E, I do follow the super thread, but honestly, looking at everyone's pictures of past trips makes me sad that I have nothing to contribute. I feel like my planning is done and the wait has started. I love reading trip reports and living vicariously through them. I'm hoping to pick up a few more hidden tips as I read them. Thank you for all of your work on these boards. They are all helping me plan the best trip ever!

Just purchased my plane tickets from SEA to LAX. Fare dropped $75 today to $176 per ticket. Very happy :) Now all I need to do is wait.

It has been on my "bucket list" for years to see Disneyland at Christmastime. So, finally, this December my adult daughter will accompany me for this 1st time trip. We will arrive on December 2nd, staying for 3 nights at the DL Hotel.

I'll take the time to read all the info I can but have a few questions. What should I make sure we not miss since this will be my 1st and final trip to DL at Christmastime? Any little "secrets" or places only the longtime DL visitors know about?

I would love to see World of Color but after reading about it, I know with my bad back, I wouldn't be able to stand that long in line.

Disneyland, here we come!:santa:

I will be there with my 8 year old niece, December 6-9, celebrating my 46th birthday on the 8th! We are staying at the Ramada Inn Maingate! Can't wait! :bday:

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted on the DIS! But we booked our hotel a few weeks back. We will be staying at the Fairfield Inn, which is where we stayed the two other times we went to Disneyland.

On another note, I have decided that I need to visit the Disneyland resorts. Visiting the WDW resorts is one of my favorite things to do, so why not do it in DLR too?! :thumbsup2

We are booked for the GCH dec. 19-22!! This will be our first trip to DL and am so excited!

Emiems20 --

I moved you over to the December Check-In thread, so your dates and hotel can be logged by Escape2Disney, if you would like.

Congratulations! The holiday season is the best time to visit Disneyland (in my opinion and in the opinion of many people on this board), and the GCH is a great hotel to stay at during the holiday season.:santa:

That is awesome! I'm going to check my rates right now. What airline are you using?
Sorry, I just saw this. I am flying Virgin. I hope you picked up some tickets because the prices have jumped back up. If you didn't, you still have a lot of time to wait for better fares again.

102 days until we leave for California, and 105 days till we will be checking into the Grand!!!!! I can't tell you how much I love it that our trip is at the top of the roll call list! Hotel, plane tickets done and paid for, now just park tickets to go! :cool1:

Any idea when floral and gifts will update to the Christmas stuff? I really want to have a small Christmas tree set up for when we get there as a surprise for my wife!

Almost double digits people, can you believe it?!!!!!!!

From what was being discussed in this thread last year, it appears that the Floral and Gifts Website was not fully updated with a proper link or price as of mid-November. A few people had to end up calling about the in-room celebrations (one of which includes the tree, I suppose), and when they called they got the updated info that wasn't on the site. So you may need to call in November if the F&G site is not updated.

Where oh where is Escape2Disney? They have a lot of dates to add on the front page! :goodvibes

I wondered where she was too, but mainly because I know she has had major health scares in the past and I hope she is okay!:goodvibes

As for adding to the list on the front page... it's only August. She'll get to it eventually. Often times "real life" gets in the way and delays us from being able to update threads when we would like to, and we have to set them aside until we have time. Unless there is some pressing need to see a complete list of who is going in December right now, then I think it can wait a bit longer. It was nice of Escape2Disney to offer/volunteer to keep up the list of December people and their hotels!
